Overall it was my favorite meal so far since we've been in Belgium which has only been 3 days. It is certainly worth a try.

I was looking…read moreforward in trying something a little nouveaux...a little experimental so I made reservations a month in advance. I really like the concept of this place. The staff are friendly, the space is open, contemporary and not overly esoteric. It's a modern well put together quaint bistro-restaurant. But the main entree I had was what I will briefly describe as being strange. Strange in that it was...weird. It didn't look weird at all, it looked delicious. But this one dish in particular had so many red peppercorns in it all I could taste for miles were red peppercorns. A floral, hot, spicy, rose-like flavor that only went away 30 minutes after I was done eating. The dish I believe was the scampi spaghetti in a light tomato cream sauce perhaps with saffron? That's only going by the menu description because all I could taste, again, were red peppercorns. The other dish I sampled, their curry chicken apple fettuccine concoction was created using what I can only describe as a Westerner's version of curry (powdered form?). Not Jamaican, not Thai, not Cambodian, Indian, Indonesian or Vietnamese. Slightly sickly sweet....heavy on something, perhaps Tumeric? At any rate, pretty much a let down for me and my traveling companion. I wish this place the very best, but along that route I suggest they really adjust the balance of their ingredients.

I don't recall what I had for dessert but I know I really enjoyed it because I ate the whole thing! (You can't leave Belgium without trying their beer, mussels, waffles, and fries right?) Luckily, both chicken and mussels were juicy and tender. I especially loved the white sauce they made for the mussels, simple but full of flavor. In fact, I couldn't stop adding the sauce to every bite. I even copied their recipe to make the white sauce at home, and it was a hit haha Ambiance was really nice. Everything looked beautifully displayed in the restaurant, I honestly enjoyed dining there. The biggest complaint would be the waiting time. After we placed the order, it took quite a while (like 30-40 mins) to get our food. It was our last meal and last day in Bruges, and we had to catch our train. So, we ended up packing half of our food to go and enjoyed it on the train. Even the packing took awhile, everything moved so slowly at the restaurant. Good thing it was nicely packed and still tasted good, but I just wish we didn't need to rush like that and eat. All in all, I enjoyed the ambience and mussels!

The biryani (€15,70 to €18,70) is easily the most expensive I've seen in my life. - Momos (€8,00 for 10) - you can pick between chicken and vegetarian. We went with the former along with a side of momo sauce (€1,30). The momos were decent with a good bite to the wrapper but we saw him take them out frozen. Takes 10-12 minutes to cook. Wouldn't say they're the real deal but the sauce is what made these good; slight unexpected heat to it. - Belgian fries (€2,40) - we added a curry ketchup (€0,70) which everyone liked. Similar to what you get with German currywurst. Fries were okay but they could have been crispier. Our friend ordered a mushroom sauce (€0,70) which he didn't care for but I didn't mind it.
