I would normally give them 5 stars, but so much has changed in the Gormet Donut world. I usually go here for my favorite ice coffees and donuts, but I think I'll be going elsewhere from now on. Which is sad, because I have been a valid customer for many years. Last week, I was in the drive through and ordered my coffees and donuts. I know I usually get a lot of coffees but it was not busy inside and not busy in the drive through. Two young girls were working. I will never understand when someone takes your order, they expect the one who took your order, to be the only person working on your order. I felt bad for the person who all of a sudden pulled up behind me, and then I had to wait for 20 minutes for the one girl to make my coffees, get my donuts and then ring me out. The other girl was not even helping her and was having the other girl do my order all by herself. Even though there was NO customers inside or outside except for me and this guy in the drive through. And I don't even think she was taking his order. The girl not helping was on her phone the entire time the girl was doing my order all by herself and just leaning off to the side just shooting the shit with her. My order would've been done in like 5 minutes, if she wasn't being lazy just helped her employee, like a team player really should be doing...to make the company look good. A lot of the girls love when I come, because I give good business and they love when my dog Declan comes through the drive through. Sad to say, I honestly think they lost my business, and I'll have to go somewhere else from now on. Which is a damn shame!!! read more

I haven't tried their donuts so I can't comment on those, but this is a solid spot for coffee and breakfast sandwiches. I've gone through the drive-thru before work and it moves MUCH quicker than the Dunks a little up the road. The bagels and sandwiches are good too. I will never understand why people like Gourmet. Now I'll admit, I have not tried Gourmets in other towns...mainly out fear that they'll all be like this one. Why, why, WHY would anyone want to eat food while being surrounded by flies? The dining room always has flies, they even keep a swatter by the tables so you can chase flies while you eat. It's utterly disgusting and the bathrooms are always dirty. It looks like they don't bother cleaning the floors or vacuuming the dining room. Because of how filthy the place looks in plain sight, imagine how much worse it must be behind the counter where they know customers can't see. I'm not blaming the girls that work there, they're always sweet. It's management I believe that is behind this atrocity. read more

People love the coffee here, but I don't drink coffee. I will say my mom and best friend swear by it. They have tons of different flavors of ice and hot coffee. Apparently they're all pretty good. But you have to watch out because some of them include added ingredients that you wouldn't think would be in a coffee. The strawberry shortcake one used to include powdered Nestlé quick strawberry powder which made my mom sick because she can't have that much sugar. The doughnuts are decent. Not the best I've ever had, but good. The bagels are meh. Nothing special. The breakfast sandwiches though, which are my usual go to at a place like this, are TERRIBLE. The sausage is absolutely disgusting, it tastes like a greasy burger, not like sausage at all. It tastes "off". It's really unsettling. The bacon is a disgusting, greasy, undercooked flaccid pile that is difficult to bite or rip through and leaves you feeling like a zombie tearing at flesh as you try to tear a bite off with your teeth. Seriously. I've had 4 different people not from the area go against my warnings on this- and all were disappointed. If you don't like coffee, don't bother. read more

I've been going to Gourmet Donut since they opened. I haven't been in several months and I likely won't be going back again. I went in today for 2 coffees and it probably took over 15 minutes to get them. There were only 2 customers in front of me inline so I don't know what the problem was but the person behind me in line left so obviously I wasn't the only one annoyed with the wait time. read more

Terrible service! waited 20 minutes in drive thru and they only served 2 cars in front of me, with still 2 more cars to go before me. Someone came out and started taking orders with the cars in back of me, not even the ones next in line. Finally went in to only be ignored. They need more employees or just ones that know what customer service is all about. Won't be back! Dunkin Donuts only 5 minutes down the road. read more

Gourmet Donuts finally has me be able to drink coffee. Their Oreo Iced Coffee is fantastic. Some of the staff remembers your orders and makes you feel at home. Muffins are good, but I would stay away from the donuts--not that great. read more

I love Gourmet Donuts; the staff is so friendly and hard-working, plus their 70+ coffee options are second to none. The only downside is their drive-thru, which essentially forces you to yell into a window since they don't have an intercom. It also requires a much longer wait. read more

This is by far my favorite Gourmet Donuts location. It's out of the way and has plenty of parking and a huge selection of coffees and donuts. My absolute favorite flavor is "birthday cake"- it's delicious and so unique! I've never had a bad coffee here. It's always made like I specify and unlike most places, the staff understands that 'no sugar' actually means don't add sugar. You wouldn't think this is a hard concept, but at most places it definitely is! I have yet to try any donuts, but their muffins and bagels are yummy and they have a nice assortment of flavors, including healthier bran options. It's a must stop for me when I'm in the area. read more

I used to be a huge fan of Gourmet Donuts. They have the best coffee and their bagels are always fresh, unlike the ones you get at Dunks that are hard as rocks by noon. The pistachio iced coffee is amazing! I would drive 30 minutes out of my way just to get a coffee. Unfortunately, due to my experiences over the past year, I do not think I can bring myself to stop there anymore. One of the worst experiences- My brother and I walked in and were the only customers at the counter. We literally waited 5 minutes before anyone even acknowledged that we were there. The girl running the drive-thru saw us but said nothing. I could hear the girls talking in the back, but no one came out to check for customers. After 5 minutes the drive-thru girl went out back and told them they had a customer. One minute later, after they finished their conversation, someone finally came out. No apology, just a "what would you like?" They did not have what I wanted so I settled for a different flavor. About half a mile down the road I took a sip of my coffee. Luke warm. I went back in and asked for my money back. Normally I would just ask for a different coffee, but I was so annoyed I just wanted my money back. The lady told me I couldn't have my money back and she would make me a new coffee- which is funny because there is no sign that says no refunds. At that point I was so pissed, I told her I did not wait at the counter for 6 minutes while they talked out back just so I could get old, luke warm coffee. The drive-thru girl interrupted and said she hadn't seen me standing there. I told her "That's funny because I was staring at you the whole time. You looked at me at least 5 times." Got my money back. Recent issues with them- Charging 50 cents for less ice? Really? Maybe if they didn't pack the cups to the top with ice, people wouldn't need to ask for half the amount of ice. Two sips and you're done! Their card machine seems to always be "broken". I think at this point, most people don't bother carrying cash. Of course they always have a tiny sign off to the side that people don't see til after ordering. Not accepting $20 bills? I can understand not taking anything over a 20, but that does not even give people the option to run to the ATM! If it is because they never have enough smaller bills, that is a management problem and they need to fix that before they piss off too many people. read more

I've enjoyed this place for many years, sadly they're no longer on my commute to work so I only get to go a couple times a year now. The breakfast sandwiches and coffee have been consistently good. I don't have the donuts often, but I like them better than Dunkins. Many of the staff have been there a while and they run the place well, which is good since it can get very busy during the morning rush hour. read more

Ordered the 'OMG' sized ice coffee and requested 1/4 the amount of ice. After handing the clerk my credit card she said she had to charge me more for less ice. I hate getting nickel & dimed. Enjoy the nickel & dime. I will not be back. The donuts are good pretty good and so are the bagels but not enough to overcome the overcharge. (You would think they would build all the different scenarios in to the price.) Also I didn't see the higher price for less ice listed on the menu. read more

I have stopped here on many occasions and always encountered a friendly staff that gets your order right. The doughnuts and muffins are very good, better than their other competitors in town. My son reports that they make good sandwiches. read more

I drive to Townsend to see my best friend every chance I get. And when I go I stop here. Until today. I took my 9 year old nephew, and twin toddlers, and we went through the drive through. After my kids and nephew enjoyed a summer day, the twins were exhausted and asleep in the back seat. A young girl took my order, a cookies and cream which is my favorite, and I had already had the one that morning, and I ordered a dozen donuts. Noone was in the line behind me, so my nephew asked for a moment to decide on his fruit smoothie as he couldn't see the menu and I was reading them off to him. So I asked for a moment. I got an irritated look and a sarcastic yep. He decided and when she came to the window I handed her my card and asked for the small smoothie. She said yeah sure. As she handed me my card she informed me that a dozen donuts in a box isn't ok to do. They do not do that. And as she handed me my card back all I could think of was its supposed to be easy to go grab your kids a treat for the next morning, especially when you will have 4 of your nephews, your own toddlers and 2 nieces. I live 45 minutes away and was trying to be nice. I told her, beyond irritated now, that this was not good customer service and that it is supposed to be easy for me to give you my money. She didnt come back to the window and had someone else give me my nephews drink. I asked for a receipt and the girl was like you want that? yes. yes I do. All I wanted to do was get coffee, and donuts for my kids, and not be treated like I was an irritation. Next time, if I decide to treat my kids and my nephews/nieces, maybe I will just wake up the sleeping kids and let them throw a fit in the store. I could totally be that parent. esp after how I felt when I was leaving your location. But that one thing that made it that much harder for me. I am extremely disappointed that I left feeling guilty, irritated, and that I had done something wrong. esp when these kids look forward to this one treat when we go to Townsend. The customer service was lacking, my coffee had sugar in it even though I asked for no sugar, and my nephew got a berry smoothie when I said a strawberry smoothie. I did get the donuts, as I have every other time, but felt it was one of the worst customer service experiences yet. Money, like water, flows in the direction of least resistance. read more

I love Gourmet Donuts! Delicious, affordable & an amazing range of coffee flavors & bakery items! I love how their coffee doesn't have that artificial sweetener/flavoring to it if you decide to treat yourself to a unique flavor! Minor downsides - on busy days (ahem, weekday AMs and weekends) they can and do sell out of many bakery items - so plan to go early if you know what you want; also no "pre-order" window like other coffee places - you have to order at the window - which on busy mornings, can sometimes make for a longer wait. This location is not my favorite however, as one time an employee rudely told me how I should place my order (no one 'explained' to be how to order ... and really I don't think anyone knows the "right way" - there's no posting or anything and you order at the window; no one at any other location has ever said that to me before!) - very put off by that rude customer service one early morning... but overall always recommend Gourmet! read more
