I just moved from Missouri to Gypsum, CO, and am leaving my favorite Chinese joint behind. Finding a new regular Chinese takeout joint is like finding a new hairdresser for me. Haha. It's serious business. After unpacking enough to have a place to sit last night, we called and ordered takeout from Gourmet China. They have a great menu and super fast service; the food was ready in 10-15 mins. Peking shrimp was REALLY good, walnut shrimp is the bomb, General tso was was okay but a little on the soggy/chewier side, crab rangoon which was really good, and great fried rice. This place is the worst! Cafeteria Chinese plus they claim delivery but they don't deliver. It smells a little funky (like a wet rug) and the service is beyond rude! You can do something poorly but good service and good food are what is needed. This place is slow, cafeteria food at best. The servers and owner are very rude. I told you about my allergy and asked that no mushrooms be in the general tso's. I was assured there were no mushrooms on the menu. I get home (30 miles away) and there are mushrooms! I told you it was an ALLERGY. Then when I call back to talk to the "Manager" he yells at me and tells me "you are Bullshit!" I paid you for a meal that you MESSED UP! All the food is really good, I mean there lo menu can't be beat, it is amazing!!! The staff is friendly and will always be happy to help you out if there is anything wrong. This is a 3 star Chinese Restaurant but for the price I'm calling them a 4 star. The food was OK but for $7 you got soup, salad, egg roll, fried rice and your entree. It was almost enough food for two people. The fried rice was more just brown rice, the egg roll was fresh and not too greasy. The salad was only lettuce with ranch on it. The soup was good but I don't think you can mess up wonton soup. The place was clean and the service was friendly. Not much more you can ask for at this price point. read more

Food is typical Chinese, nothing special. Been going here for last 10+ years and service has never been friendly. Food comes out quick and restaurant is quasi dirty. Lost me tonight though when my party of four was charged a mandatory gratuity of 18% even though the menu stated it would be 15%. Then another 4% was added at checkout because we paid by credit card. The best Chinese and the best lunch deal in the Vail Valley. The lunch special with chicken runs around $7 and comes with soup, mini salad, egg roll, fried rice, and a main course. Get the Kung pow (stir fried) or sesame (deep fried) chicken. Oh and tea is part of the deal if you ask for it. Name a better deal in the Valley! You can't do it. Very mediocre. I've eaten sesame tofu at a lot of restaurants and this is definitely the worst one I've had, no breading, watery flavor less sauce. The veggie lo mein was a huge portion but was really devoid of flavor. Not sure how this place survives in such a small town. Won't return to this restaurant. read more

First time ordering from this place, and I ordered delivery. They have a very convenient online ordering process, which makes it easy to order and keep your address stored. It's been over twenty years since I've tasted such authentic "China Town" Chinese food, the kind I had only experienced up north (thinking especially of the awesome Ho Sai Gai in Philadelphia!) I ordered the House Special Soup and the Seafood Special, and both the soup and the entree contained the freshest, crispest ingredients. All I can say about the flavor is that anyone who has ever had really good Chinese food will relate. It's awesome. Their House Fried Rice is an excellent accompaniment, too. What do I say about this place? I come here because I love their egg drop soup and cream cheese wontons and that's about all they do right. The service is usually terrible and the servers act like you are pissing them off because they have to work. They never check your table for refills or to see if your food is ok. I'm a server and a bartender. I'm usually understanding when service isn't good. I ordered a mojito and received a margarita. I ordered a a shrimp dish that was mostly onions... One time we ordered hot sake and it was barely room temperature and tasted like rubbing alcohol. It's very disappointing. I quit coming in for a couple months because of these reasons. And I decided to get my yummy wontons today and I remembered why I stopped coming in. It's a shame. read more

Very small and dusty pretty gross interior degsin the problem is it tries to be Asian interior but then there's a large tv like 90inch but not HD it's fuzzy and that's all you hear while you eat here the food is decent but not great there is way better Asian food in eagle county there is much better in eagle read more

Drove through Eagle on a road trip. Wow. No wonder this place was packed at 3:00 on a Sunday afternoon. The food was very good, but the portion sizes were most impressive. We ordered 3 lunch specials to feed 5 of us (2 adults, 3 children) and still had food to take home. The large lunch specials are served on huge platters and come with a small, green salad with ranch dressing, fried rice, an egg roll and choice of soup. Nothing that is super-extraordinary, but all still, very tasty. The service was fast and they proactively brought us to go boxes and our check. We stayed at the Best Western in town and was craving Chinese food. Typically I'm not a fan where Chinese food is more Americanized, but their food was on point. I was originally going to order a Lo Mein, but asked if they had any noodle soups, I'm not feeling well so I wanted something soupy. They said they had a seafood noodle soup, but I'm not a huge fan, I asked if there was anything else, they said beef, I asked if they had chicken noodle, they said they can make it for me if I'd like. YES PLEASE!! I was super excited. They were also able to deliver so that was a plus in my book. It's cold out, I get chicken noodle soup, AND they deliver! woo hoo! Food arrived in about 15-20 mins. We ordered a hot and sour soup, shrimp fried rice, chicken noodle soup, and steamed dumplings. I didn't have the hot and sour soup, but the husband said it was in point. The steamed dumplings were nice and big, it also came with some soy sauce dumpling sauce. The chicken noodle soup was delicious, definitely hit the spot! I only wish they split the noodles and the soup, I barely got any soup, most likely the noodles soaked it all up. No worries I was still happy with my meal. The fried rice was ok, had a decent amount of shrimp in it. Husband had to add some soy sauce so i'm guessing it might have been a little bland. Overall, the food was great, the delivery was fast, and they were very nice to accommodate me with my chicken noodle soup. Nothing beats Chinese food on a chilly night. read more

Stopped by on a road trip to Utah. Server was very friendly and checked in on us regularly. The moo goo gai pan lunch special was very good, it came with a spring roll and soup. The chicken was tender, and the spring roll was crunchy. My only complaint would be the fried rice side which was cold. Definitely worth checking out if you are in the area and crave Chinese food. read more

If I could give this place no stars I would. I went there with my husband and my 2 small children. We ordered our drinks. 2 cokes and 2 children sprites. We were brought our drinks and the kids' drinks were in the same size glass cups, but filled barely halfway.... ok not a big deal. Then we ordered our food. Teriyaki chicken, general taos chicken, white rice and lo mein. Our food arrived all at different times and the teriyaki chicken was last. I immediately looked at it and was grossed out by the way it looked, but thought maybe that looks can be deceiving and I gave it a bite. Yuck! It was chewy and all fat and very very tangy like it was soaked in vinegar. So I politely said to the waiter "I'm sorry, but this wasn't what I was expecting and is he here anyway I may swap it out for something else, like another plate of general taos?" (Because I had tried my husbands and it was good) he said "no you order you pay" I immediately said fine bring me some boxes and the check I'm leaving and you've lost business from us from here on out! Packed our other food in boxes and looked at the check. It was $68 and some change. We were charged $3.00 for all 4 drinks even though we received 2 half full drinks, and then there was an 18% service charge. Basically he put his tip on the check and that was almost $11. HAHA. I've worked in the food industry most of my life and if a customer isn't satisfied with something you do everything in your power to make it better. He didn't do anything. He didn't deserve a penny of a tip. He was lucky I actually paid the bill, and didn't just walk out. I paid $58 and left. He was not getting a service charge out of me because he didn't do me a service. I live in this town and will travel for better Chinese food and better service. Rude staff and over priced! I have specific dietary needs, and was trying to ask if I could modify a menu item and the server responded with "if you don't like, no refund!" I ended up with something that was not what I wanted at all. And was absolutely the WORST tofu I've ever had. That was my first and last time there. read more
