The Sunday evening dinner, which happily extend to 9:00pm rather than the 6:00pm listed on the website, was outstanding! Particular standouts included the baked chicken dinner, cheesy cauliflower, sticky toffee pudding, and outstanding selections of ciders. This pub is large with an outdoor beer garden and a couple dining rooms (one with live music the night we were there) as well as the bar. The bartender and waitstaff were friendly and very helpful. I can't recommend this place highly enough!

The management were very helpful in setting things up with our hockey committee and the food buffet was good value at £15 per head, giving an international variety of lamb curry, fishcakes and garlic bread amongst others. It was also appreciated that a member of management was visibly present throughout the evening to help iron out any problems that could arise. The bar staff were also friendly and efficient The room was the prefect size for our guest list of 50 and a good evening was had by all The club were suitably impressed enough to want to book up for next year's dinner already

As far as pubs and bars go in this area, this is one of the best. If you want to large it, have a boogie, make friends with strangers and wake up with a saucepan next to your head, coming here is totally the right way to start your night. This place is part of the same group as The White Hart and The Antelope, which is just a few doors down. It's loved by the cool kids of the south and treated like their mecca. It's a strange mix with funny hair cuts, skinny jeans, plaid shirts who also mingle with white bootcut jeans and tops from Jane Norman. Nothing wrong with it, I'm just saying its a weird mix. Drinks are reasonable and there is loads of sitting space. It's just a bit of an arse when you get there that they have all been reserved for the rest of the night. The place is just back from Mitcham road and there will be big men on the door. They won't let you in if you come too late though as it gets full quick and becomes one in one out.

It's built in a tram shed, so has a super high ceiling and a second level in the form of a balcony going all the way around the main floor. With an eccentric mix of tables, sofas and chairs and some patio furniture and fairy lights in the approaching alley, the place is welcoming and popular. Drinks are above average but in line with the feel of the venue.

Came on a recommendation from a friend of a friend for the next time I visited London. Luckily it a short walk from a tube station and even though it seems like a lot of stops from zone 1 & 2, it took less than 20 minutes from Central London. My friend and I lucked out as we arrived right before a rush, but as we started our meal we could see why people were queuing up outside and waiting for who knows how long. I don't know if I have the words to describe my experience as everything on the menu looked good and from a slightly picky eater like me, that's saying something. I just hope the rarity I hand out 5 stars will say more than my stunted vocabulary can The food was great! The hot drinks were great! The smoothies were great! Definitely going to try and make my way back to this place my next trip to London.

Anyway, I come in here for a coffee, but yeah, it really was pretty slow. Sure, maybe I'm one of those people that would prefer not to hang around for too long, or I'm just impatient.
