This is 40% of my total income for the tour. By far the largest expense. They seduced me (Jeremy) with his cool tone and big promises, often quoting other BIG names he has helped. Then I spent 2 weeks explaining my story, filling in old school forms. On day one of the campaign I get assigned to ANOTHER publicist, who is rude, unprofessional, not in my genre, has no connections, no idea. Then after a few weeks she leaves the firm and Im given to another junior publicist. This time he is a YES MAN, telling me every call or email how much he is doing. Well. NOTHING WAS DONE for $2600. We got one interview from a tiny blog but only after they reached out to us. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY. GRAMOPHONE IS A TOTAL JOKE!!!!!!!

I had no prior experience with drums but decided it was just something I wanted to do. Stephen is a great teacher. Very patient and passionate about the learning experience. I was surprised to find how many other people had also chosen to take up drumming later in life. Lots of adult students and of course he teaches kids as well. The best part...you get to play with a band. Every spring and fall he puts on a show at Arlene's Grocery downtown. It's basically a recital and you get to play one or two songs with a full band in front of a real audience. Some students have there own bands but the rest play with the band Stephen pulls together.
