I literally made a Yelp account (yes, in 2018 -- just a little late to the game) simply so I can leave this review -- that's how pleased I am with the work Marc and Dataworks did for me recently! My dad recently passed away, and as an anniversary gift for my mom, I had their wedding VHS converted to a digital file. I reached out to multiple companies on Yelp, and the combination of Marc's kind, understanding response and the positive reviews on Yelp convinced me I had to go with Dataworks. Their prices were also incredibly fair compared to the other places. Marc was very sensitive when it came to just how important the tape is to my mom/our family, and handled it with care -- and still managed to get it back to me in less than 24 hours. The quality is great, and I really cannot be happier with the result. I came to DataWorks to get some old VHS tapes converted that were very sentimental and a few of them were damaged. I contacted Dataworks via Yelp and I received a phone call within the hour asking what exactly I'd like to have done. Marc and his team did a great job explaining to me the option of converting to DVD vs converting to a digital file and were able to repair tapes that I hadn't been able to watch for years. They were sensitive to the fact that there were sentimental footage as these were old home videos and were able to successfully convert them to me for both DVDs and digital files that I used on my own external hard drive. It's a small office space so you drop off your tapes and the staff is all very nice. I have a few more tapes to eventually convert so I plan to be back again. read more

I needed an old VHS tape converted into DVD that was very sentimental and very time sensitive. I did not have the time to drop off the VHS in person so I had to FedEx the tape to Mark and then have the DVD dropped off by the messenger service at the designated address. I contacted Dataworks and had the pleasure to plan out this whole project with Mark. Not only did he go above and beyond what was expected but he did the great job on converting the VHS into DVD and delivering the finished product ahead of the scheduled time and the last Nor'Easter snow storm. I dug out from my distant past a reel-to-reel tape that no living machine can play. I took it to Marc at Dataworks, and within twenty-four hours he'd brought it back from the dead past and put it on an audio CD. This operation is wonderfully professional, and friendly into the bargain. Also, the cost seemed very reasonable (when the 50-year-old tape, not surprisingly, broke, it cost a trifling additional fee to have someone come in and repair it). My experience at Dataworks was amazing. I only had a few days to spare to turn around a giant VHS to digital conversion project. After researching several vendors and conducting thorough diligence, it was not only clear that Marc and Dataworks offered the best pricing structure, but also the best service. I have brought several projects to Dataworks and have been very satisfied with the results every time. Most recently, I brought in three reel-to-reel audiotapes of different sizes (3 inch, 5 inch and 7 inch) containing recordings of my piano playing when I was 11 years old, 60 years ago.
