I booked Studio B for my boyfriend to record vocals on instrumentals. We had Jake as our sound engineer/producer & he was amazing. We didn't tell Jake but this was my bf's first time in the studio & yet Jake was still amazing. He threw out bars to say, gave advice to stay on beat, & was encouraging. Even before booking I had great customer service from Diego who helped w the decision of studio A or B. Overall just an amazing experience 10/10. I am officially addicted to recording at this studio. Let me start with the best part. The staff! Lane, John, and Manny are not only super professional and knowledgeable, but they are some of the chillest guys you will ever have the pleasure of working with. Manny and Lane are amazing engineers because they make the creative process fun, positive, and stress free while also providing insight and constructive feedback at perfect times throughout. John is on top of his game in terms of scheduling, and has been very flexible whenever I needed to make changes to my bookings. The rooms and equipment are certainly top notch and state of the art. I've booked time in Studio A and Studio B. Both are comfortable and have all the best tools at your disposal. I always have a group of friends with me when I go, and there is ample room for them to hang out comfortably and enjoy the vibes. The bathrooms are always clean and there is even an outdoor section that is perfect for smoke breaks when a session calls for one! Water, coffee, and tea are available for free which is a nice perk. If you want to create something awesome in a professional, clean, and positive space, then this is the studio you should book. Real talk. read more

Moon Lab is the best recording studio in New York City. From the moment I went to the website, I knew it was the one. I looked at about 150 different studios online, talked to about 20, visited 10, and I knew from just visiting the website that it was the one. They just have an amazing vibe and you can feel it. On the business side of things, they run everything so incredibly professionally. They are on time. They manage expectations beautifully. You know exactly how much everything will cost upfront. There are no surprises, expect how awesome it is. And the artist side of things -- what can I even say. It's hard to express it, except that it has literally been the highlight of my year. If you want to go to a recording studio that makes you feel happy and good (but without the BS), go here. Every studio in the city has fancy equipment and engineers who know how to record music (including Moon Lab). Nice monitors and expensive microphones are not a selling point anymore -- it's the minimum. Everyone at Moon Lab is wonderful and that's why I love going there. Finding the right recording studio could be a difficult process. My previous studio closed and I was left to search for a studio I could call my recording home. I came across Moon Recording and instantly fell in love. Everything about this place is great, from the professionalism of the staff to the environment to record in. The engineer Manny is amazing and has a great ear for a bunch of different sounds. They offer great prices and even complementary coffee, tea, and sweedish fish!! Lane (owner and chief engineer) is the best of the best when it comes to recording, hands down. I first met him when he was hired to record accompaniment tracks for a show I was playing. I generally get nervous in the studio, knowing that every wrong note is time and money lost, but Lane creates an atmosphere that is relaxed, fun, creative, and with supreme expertise. The finished product, and the time it took him to complete it all, was remarkable. I've already got two more jobs I'm sending his way because better doesn't exist. I visited Moon Lab Studios and did not get a good impression of the studio. The rates are a bit high for me and most recordings now-a-days can be done with gear that can be bought for a home recording studio. I did, however, like how it would be possible to record drums and percussive instruments. Lane is a very reasonable guy, however, he came off as being a bit aggressive and self consumed, sometimes hard to reason with him. The atmosphere is great but I would not be returning here again. read more
