I have only been in the Ann Arbor/Ypsi area for a few weeks now so perhaps I don't have the full lay of the land restaurant-wise. That being said, any place I get a burger from here on out will have a Herculean task trying to top Got Burger. In my opinion, Got Burger represents everything great I have seen about Ypsilanti so far; friendly people, high quality product, no frills but still proud. On to the food! I got the mushroom burger while my wife got the standard cheese burger. Both were fantastic and cooked perfectly for flat-top grill burgers. The meat is halal, so you know the quality is on point. The mushroom burger comes with a cucumber wasabi sauce that is crazy good. We also got onion rings which were nice and crispy. They come with a delicious ranch and the guys were nice enough to give us a side of the cucumber wasabi for dipping as well. If you are not into beef all if their burgers can be made with chicken or vegetarian patties instead. Oh, and keep in mind that this place is extremely inexpensive. My husband would skip the place altogether. You will read why. I loved the garlic lovers burger, my husband was less impressed with his creation. Given that his burger was plain (no sauce), it offered a clear taste of unvarnished truth. I was less impressed with his burger too. Garlic apparently clouds my judgment of a burger. It was skimpy on the cheese when he clearly asked for extra. Both our burgers were pretty much cooked through. That is a downside for many people I know. We both were meh on the soggy fries. We like em crispy. I figure most people do. Not really much more to say than that. I would not order them again. Service was uber friendly. I really wanted to like them. This place just recently opened up at the original Domino's Pizza location on Cross Street between Depot Town and Ugly Mug. This review is for their first day soft opening. Solid burger. Nothing super fancy but I think they will improve quickly as they get a bit more experience under their belts. Very reasonably priced for what it is. Since they don't have an online menu, I'll say that most single burgers run $4.99-$5.99 so it's a good deal. Lots of free toppings, unique sauces, and bun options. For small charges they have different cheese options, guac, bacon, fried egg, and chili. They also have different types of sauces and rubs for their fries. Hot dogs and wings are also available. I tried the Firehouse burger (pepper jack cheese, lettuce, tomato, jalapenos, and jalapeno ranch sauce for $4.99) and added grilled onions and mushrooms for free. The burger was very tasty...I'd lean towards a 4/5 on the burger alone. The fries were a little too soft for me (got them with cajun seasoning which was good). I like my fries crispy and perhaps they will be willing to do that if you ask in advance. Overall, I am impressed. Again, I get the feeling that as their experience builds, this will be a solid 4 out of 5 place. read more

A friend and I wanted to check this place out before heading to the movies... with about 40 minutes before our showtime, we were excited for something new, plus they had an awesome special (free drink and fries for the grand opening). The wait alone was unbearable. It took 35-40 minutes on a semi busy night and there were several employees taking breaks. When we finally got our food, we received no apologies. I ordered the garlic burger combo, my friend ordered the Texas burger combo. My burger was damn near vegetation... seeing as there was hardly any meat to be found. While my friend enjoyed her majestically, meaty creation (minus the flexible bacon strips they put on it)...I swear that bacon could make the gymnastics team at Olympics! The fries weren't bad and we got free refills. And while they were quick to check on us, I couldn't help but keep my burger problems to myself (in fear that it would take another hour to get the replacement). The atmosphere wasn't bad, it has potential... Maybe we'll try this again once they have knocked the kinks out. We were looking for something easy for an early dinner last night, but didn't want fast food. We scrolled through restaurants nearby and decided to give Got Burger a try. We got there around 4:00 and were the only patrons inside. I ordered a chili cheese dog (no onions or mustard), fries, and a soda. My husband ordered a double cheeseburger, fries, and a drink. The man who took our order was very nice, btw. He came across as being a genuinely friendly person. There was another employee at the grill. There are two seating areas, one with booths and the other with tables. We sat at one of the tables which happened to be right in front of a huge tv playing Friends. Yay! Our food was good! The chili dog had chili with beans on it, and he cheese was like concession stand nacho cheese...so it was good, lol. At least j like that cheese sauce on chili dogs. I was promised a 30 minute wait time instead I waited 50 minutes for my food. I did not complain too much because the people were nice. My onion rings were a joke. Let's first start out with the EXCELLENT service. When calling in a pick up order during the last hour of service, it's common that people are cranky, but it was totally not the case here. When calling in, the guy on the phone put us on hold explaining that he was taking an in house order and then since it was taking longer than he expected, he let us know again that he didn't forget about us. When we picked up the food, he confirmed our order by opening up the to-go containers. That's truly above and beyond to make sure that the customer is happy before they leave! Secondly, the burger was so juicy and flavorful. The tomatoes were so fresh and there was spring mix for lettuce!! You can tell how much everyone cares about the quality of the food. Also, you can see the grill top when you walk in and they take the time to properly melt the cheese onto the burger with a lid and steam. The wings are not over cooked and juicy as well! In life, it's about the little things you do that make the most difference. The little extra steps to ensure a quality product and happy customer are what set this burger spot apart from the rest. This is a solid burger spot. I've had burgers at Sticks, Sidetracks, Blimpy, Quickie Burger, Charlie's, Bagger Dave's, Great Plain's, Burger Fi, Frita Batidos, and many more so you can trust me. My favorite part (besides the burgers) is the variety of toppings. I'm excited to go back to try the cucumber wasabi among other things. The staff was great and more than happy to tell me about the place and the food. As the other reviews have said it is all very fresh and high quality-nothing frozen. I had a build your own burger with jalepeno ranch, chipotle mayo, lettuce, bacon, and jalepenos. The patties are a pretty good size (I had a double and some fries and I was stuffed). It's got to be one of the few burgers in the area where I didn't have grease raining down my hands by the time I finished it. I'd like to add to a previous review and mention that they are taking cards as well as cash now so you are good to go either way. This is definitely a place to try and if you're in the area you have no excuse not to. I have a feeling this place is going to be a big hit when the students come back in the fall. read more

I placed an order to be delivered the driver texted me that he was at my door 1 minute later after seeing no delivery driver I called the restaurant 3 times. The owner of this place is the coolest dude; he clearly cares deeply about his business and customer service in general. The food is good for the price, but no frills. I enjoy the heat from the Firehouse Burger. The hot dogs are good, but I wish they did something more similar to a coney dog. Often times, the details of my order (here, not to go; yes, everything on my hot dog; etc.), is not communicated to the staff and so they have to go back and add something. Minor thing, but it has happened many times. There's a TV, but not really in a location where most patrons can watch (not that you'll be in there long). If you're hoping to catch a bit of the Tigers or something while grabbing a quick bite, that's not happening; it seems everyone watches cartoons while working. I'm fairly sure I had at least a quarter-pound of meat, if not a half-pound. Also, the fries weren't soggy, nor were they too crispy. They were delicious, and I could taste bits of potato skin on some of them. We got a pretty big helping; most people could probably share an order of fries. You won't need two unless you're really hungry (or LOVE french fries). The staff was really friendly.
