The whole experience is ghetto. They don't make appointments for service. You have to leave your car until they get to it. Could be a day could be two weeks. They couldn't find the problem even though it was clear what was wrong. I drive to Tupelo now for all my Kia needs. 1.5 hour drive but no headaches, no hassle. They even have a courtesy shuttle to drop you off somewhere. We went to Cracker Barrel and had lunch while they serviced our SUV. AVOID GOSSETT. You all know that I am about service - and to have the word "SERVICE" in the title of your title should dictate that, that service is what you are expected to provide. Here is a note for you about Gossett Kia South on Mt. Moriah 38118 (just in case you do not wish to read the entire review) - "Poor management, from a bad manager can take a good staff and DESTROY it - causing the best employees to flee and the remainder to lose all motivation." Is Leadership NOT about servitude first? If this is true, then it is possible that Mr. Greg Burks, (newly minted Manager of the service department at Kia South) could be that type of bad manager. He just hung up in may face (huh). Keep in mind, no profanity, no disrespect no arguing - just questions about why he thought (think) it appropriate to keep my $1000 payment on repair of my 2013 (under 90k miles) Genesis coupe. After claiming that the money I paid in December of last year - towards the parts/labor for the repair of the vehicle - all of a sudden is applied for a storage fee, essentially making the transaction an unauthorized - non agreed upon - invalid charge. Money aside. The vehicle sat - untouched, 'uninspected', not looked at - for near 4 -5 months as I patiently waited, mind you - void of a storage fee conversation or any element of positive communication being conveyed in my direction, other than the text I received stating that my vehicle was ready for pick up. I have had 1, 2, 3, 4 advisors assigned to my service ticket since that time, all of which have moved on from the what seems a hostile - uncomfortable service department work environment, where that of near harassment has been seen by customers (one being me). Since Mr. Burke's arrival as leader, it would appear that on any given day - I have walked in to see personnel lacking motivation - showing little to no enthusiasm for employment, heads down, and or in a conversation with him that could easily be deemed as conversation that should not be held in front of any customer or employee - if had at all. There is a level of workplace tension that could easily be felt by anyone with even a remote sense of discernment. I have received a call back from Mr. Burke - (it is almost like one could feel this note getting typed to future potential customers looking for a local car company to take their care to in hopes of getting it serviced)... if you are one such reader - YOU ARE WELCOMED. I was told that I would get a call from, "... one of the higher ups." What is an higher up? Who is supposed to be calling me? Are you saying that one of your supervisors or managers are going to call me back?" Greg: "Yeah, but I am not going to say their name." ME: (in my head = what - what is this, kindergarten) " So, essentially you are not going to tell me who I supposed to be getting a call from?" Do not take your car hear for any element more than a tire rotation or oil changed or perhaps some windshield wiper replacement. No, not because the technicians are not GREAT, not because the support staff are not apparently working there tales off trying to satisfy the customers of Gossett Kia South, but simply because management DOES not deserve the opportunity to try and provide any customer with the idea of fixing a vehicle. IF you have had any type of service that contradicts my experience (in the last 8 years) - please offer up your commentary, as maybe it is just me. Perhaps I do not seem like I would like to be treated with respect and professional communication. What I am finding hard to comprehend is I have had above average-to-excellent service when I communicate with Kia/Hyundai customer Service - Corporate offices - and typically have received sort of an upper echelon level of service when I deal with Gossett "Higher Ups" - yet the first line supervisory team at the Mt. Moriah site location - seems to leave a lot to be desired in terms of professionalism/service. Why? No, the customer is not always right, but leadership is always wrong when they do not offer understanding and amiable communication. And to yell and hang-up in a customers face is failure of telephone communication 1 on 1 - even if you are called a liar. Especially if YOU are or were literally lying Mr. Burkes, about TELL me that the money paid would be used for storage - and why would it be? Kia Gossett Mt. Moriah is not in the car storage business, if you all were - the parking lot would be better maintained, cars that I have seen on your lot for more than 3 years would have been removed, there would have been a disclaimer or notation on my receipt that says so. Is what you have said to me even within the lines of legality? Fellow review readers - in wants of a higher echelon place to have your Kia/Hyundai serviced, you may want to have careful consideration to take your expensive vehicle to the Gossett Covington Pike location, or Genesis Germantown. I bought my Kia Sorrento 2 months ago and the tire just blew out driving down the road (I didn't hit anything) and they offer no warranty or anything for the defective tire that was on my vehicle. So after a week of waiting for an appointment they now tell me I will have to wait as they will need to order said tire even though I informed them over the phone all the information regarding the tire. The 2nd time someone tried to steal my car, Keith (the service writer) was very inattentive. He failed to call when he should have and did not do any research before trying to tell me what parts were necessary. When I got my car back, I called AS I was driving away to pick up my father (who was standing in a parking lot some miles away waiting for me to do a vehicle swap) to tell Keith my airbag light was on. He said I'd have to come back in for a diagnostic which could take all day. I asked him to give me a window so I could come and still leave in time to pick up my kid from school. He said he didn't believe he could do that. I said he should find out and call me back. I waited a WEEK and got no call back. When I called him and said I'd been waiting but he hadn't called me his response was "oh, I didn't?" Then a bracket fell out of the steering column and so I had to bring the car back to make sure it wasn't a crucial piece. No, it was a piece they'd replaced and just left the old one inside the steering column. Cool. Then when I asked Keith about fixing the airbag light he proceeds to rudely tell me I'll just have to leave it up here for them to look at whatever went wrong, then DENIED the light was on when they'd had it the first time!! So now he's basically failed to do his job AND is calling me a liar. If you can get someone else here, maybe your experience will be better, but on the off chance you get Keith? Do not take your KIA to Gossett in Memphis for any service. I was lied to telling me that it would take months to get parts and get my engine replaced under warranty. It took me finding a number to Kia to open a case and get my new motor shipped to the dealer in a week and half. No one in the service department returns your calls and when you do get someone on the phone the person you are trying to reach have always just gone to lunch or away from.their desk. We bought a 2024 Kia Telluride at Gossett Kia South and it was a terrible experience from start to finish. They run things very old school with sales and don't even guarantee their tires. I had a flat within the first week and a half of owning the car and my car sensor never even warned of low tire pressure until the tire was already flat. They talk a lot of "bull crap." We're wishing we had gone somewhere else, but we really liked the Telluride. They also don't put anything into their waiting area. The chairs are all stained, and they don't even offer a coffee bar that's stocked. It's ridiculous that customers have to sit on stained chairs! In June 2022, we special ordered a Kia Carnival and was required to put a down payment on the vehicle. We live over 2 hours away and told the salesperson that we would like to have the deal complete when the vehicle came in over the phone so we could just come sign papers and pick the vehicle up. That was agreed to by the salesperson. In December, the vehicle arrived and was told we had 7 days to complete everything and pick up the vehicle or we would lose it and our deposit ($1000) . It arrived on a Tuesday. When the sales person called he pressured us to come in that day because he was leaving on vacation the following day. We told him that we live too far away, we both work and we have a toddler. It wouldn't be feasible to make the trip until Saturday. He said he would get us some number and get the car ready for delivery on Saturday. We sent pictures of our trade and did everything with him over the phone. After multiple calls and text over the next few days, we were no closer to a deal than when we started. We finally called the dealership and were assigned another salesperson. We were required to start all over even though we had already sent the first salesperson the credit application and all of our info. After a day of going back and forth, we were told they would not give any numbers over the phone and had to be there in person. So we wouldn't lose our deposit, we agreed to go to the dealership (over 2 hours away) on Saturday. We had an appointment with the salesperson. On the way to the dealership (about 20 miles away) we were told on the phone that time that the inspection was never completed even though the first salesperson said that it was and that we would have to complete the sale and get our vehicle at a later date sight unseen. We reluctantly agreed. When we arrived at the dealership, toddler in tow, we asked to see the vehicle and were then informed that the vehicle was actually damaged and in the body shop. They said they would repair it and deliver it to us. We were at the dealership for almost 3 hours. Shuffled from one office to another. We were treated like our business didn't matter and that we were in the way. They finally got us numbers together but ultimately with the poor customer and deceitfulness, we walked away from the deal. We didn't want to give the dealership anymore of our money. They said they had another van coming in and we did agree to think about purchasing that one a few weeks later. When it arrived (2 months later) the original salesperson called us to tell us it was in. In between that time, we found a van at a dealership that valued our time and our business. We informed the salesperson that we no longer wanted the van and we're really disappointed at their service and we would like our deposit back. He said he would try to get out deposit back for us. He had me sign a paper and was told it was approved for us to receive it back. I checked with him every few days and was told the General Manger just had to turn it in and it would be complete. That was over a week ago. Today, I was told we would not be getting it back. This dealership continues to give its customers the run around and clearly does not value the person. They seem to be only focused on the numbers and money. We will NEVER go back to them for any sales and will continue to tell others about the way we were treated. read more

Zero stars if I could. Horrible customer service. My issue is with the service department. I bought a used Nissan Sentra from this place. The service department was to change brake pads. They changed them but a tech forgot to put a bolt in my vehicles left caliper. Luckily the bottom had a bolt. I had my caliper barely on my car. Who forgets to bolt down a caliper after a brake service? Gossett Mt Moriah that's who!! I can only imagine how horrible they are at working on cars if they can't even fix brakes right. Ordered a Sportage hybrid in May of 2022. After they got the deposit never heard from them again. Able to call and get the salesman on the phone only for him to say he didn't know anything. NEVER could get a manager. I understand there is a wait for cars. After 10 months went to the Covington Pike dealership just looking for another Sportage. They were able to get a hold of the manager at Kia South. Promised he would call...he never did. The salesman called instead and suddenly realized the hybrid ordered would be in next month sometime. But they just happen to have another Sportage there not a hybrid just like the one ordered. They wanted to sell that at above MRSP. Bad customer service and bad business. After I expressed that I didn't want to do business with them I would rather my deposit and car be transferred to Covington Pike. I didn't purchase my car from this particular Kia dealership but I did go to them to service my vehicle (2016 Kia Sportage) and I am very dissatisfied with the service center here. A nail was found in my tire during an oil change and I had to reluctantly decided to purchase a tire from them. During the purchasing process, I asked them information about the warranty coverage and comparable tires and NO ONE on the team was able to give me information. It wasn't until after I purchased the tire that someone has to look up the info and call me back the next day with details. That was a bad sign from the beginning of the lack of knowledge of their own products. Well 6 weeks later I came back with a nail in the same tire and I went to get it replaced. I went up there and waited for an hour waiting on a team that was short staff, unhelpful, and only to be told they have to submit my claim for my tire to be replaced, forcing me to leave on the same donut I rode in on. I asked how long would the claim take and they said they didn't know but they would be in touch. I heard nothing back from them the next day and called an left a message with the service manager. He didn't follow up until 2 days later. At that point I was ready to transfer my services to another location. Again I was left frustrated with little information and on the same donut tire for FOUR DAYS. When I asked to transfer my service to another location because I was dissatisfied with the service I received at this location, they only complained about how cumbersome it would be for them to transfer the order. It's now Thursday (took my car there Monday) and I still have no update on my tire or if I will be able to get my tires serviced at the other location (WHENEVER) they finally get them in. I have purchased tires in the past from Gateway Tire & Service they have set a high standard for customer service and care. I could bring in a damaged tire on their warranty and have a new tire on in minutes with no questions asked. I regret using any provider, especially Gossett Kia South. read more

I have spent an entire week trying to get someone to help me with placing an order for a Sorento Hybrid however I cannot get a response from anyone. I have emailed multiple people including the sales manager. I've also called multiple people including the sales manager. Today I finally just called the sales number on the website and explained to the person on the phone that I've been trying to order this all week but couldn't get a call back and was assured that someone would reach out to me. Well who would've thought, no call was ever received. I don't understand how this dealership is in business if they won't actually call anyone back. She called the dealer for a quote on a part, and it played out like this: My wife: How much would such and such cost? Mechanic: Let me ask. Hank, how much would such and such cost? I was on vacation last week and had a flat tire on my new car and I arrived there and was told I had two oil changes in front of me.Well 3 hours later at closing time I finally got a outrageous priced tire put on. For 169.00 for one tire I could have almost got 4 at a tire dealer. I never been to a business so slow and unprofessional. They had service dept. employees just walking around the parking lot while one guy was doing all the work. I purchase a 2013 Kia from Kia Mt. Moriah May 2016. 1 month later I needed a new battery, other then that I have not have any problems. I have always had a oil change when due. On March 17,2017 I took my car to Kia to have my oil and front head light replaced. That same evening while driving, all of my dash board lights came on and the car would not go anymore. I pulled over turned the engine all the way off. I waited for a few min. and the car started. The next day the car did the same thing and also now smoking but this time it would not start. I had it towed to the Kia dealer that changed my oil. I was told that my battery was dead but the lights would come on but the car just would not start. Then I was told I needed a started and it drained my battery. The battery and starter was supposedly put in . The next day I get a call from Kevin saying that I need a new engine. WOW. A new engine for a 2013 car with 74000 miles with no problems, no noise, nothing before. The last I spoke with Kevin he was waiting on the warranty center which I was told it would take about 1 week but I still haven't heard anything. I did purchase a warranty and gap insurance. They have not offered me a rental or anything I was told that was on me. I asked the guy that sold me the car and he said they should have me a loaner or rental because I did have a warranty. NOW I can't get in touch with anyone. I HAVE had this car less than a year and paying car note. As of now I don't know when I will get my car back or a answer. My wife and I bought our Kia Sedona from Gossett a little over 5 years ago. We have recently had some electrical issues with the turn signals (both front and back). After our regular mechanic suggested that we take it in to the dealer, that is exactly what we did. After explaining the problem to James Anderson, he recommended a diagnostic test to identify the electrical issue. His response: "three of your bulbs are blown out". Our bulbs are actually not blown out. They work fine. The electrical issue, however, was never diagnosed. When I asked James what the mechanic looked at electrically during the diagnostic test, he was unable to tell me. Since the mechanic incorrectly identified the working bulbs as blown, I am certain that he did not even look closely at the problem. Needless to say, they did not fix my electrical issue and I will be taking my car somewhere else. I recommend that you avoid this dealership. I will not buy from them again, and I definitely will not take my car there for service ever again. read more
