I easily ordered over the phone a pair of related OEM auto parts that I needed to repair my wife's car. The parts arrived the very next day, and I was able to conveniently pick them up at the parts counter, located at the back of the customer waiting area. Over a year ago I kept getting a low tire pressure warning light on the dash of my Toyota Prius. I put air in the tires but the warning kept returning. I took it to Principle Toyota for a diagnosis and was told I needed to purchase tire pressure warning sensors to the tune of between $600 and $700. They told me that would solve the problem. It did not. The warning light kept coming back on so I took the car back in. Lo and behold, they discovered a screw in a tire. Apparently this was not detected in the initial inspection nor during the actual repair, but by then I had already paid for the new sensors and still needed to purchase a new tire. Fast-forward to December 2024, and I took my Prius in for a new 12 V battery. After picking the car up, I noticed a strange rattling sound under the hood while driving it. I was concerned that there was a problem and would need to make another appointment for a repair. But first I decided to take a look under the hood because I suspected that the rod that supports the hood when the hood is open had not been secured. Bingo! Problem solved. But both experiences indicate a carelessness or laziness on the part of the mechanics who are supposed to repair our car problems, not exacerbate them. The service managers have all been very kind and attentive, but the quality of customer service is cancelled out by the lack of attention to detail on the part of the mechanics who are tasked with performing the repairs. read more

Had a wonderful experience buying my new car here almost a month ago. Andy was my sales guy and he was very straight forward from the beginning (he treats everyone as if they were his mom!), he was honest with me about financing and what I would likely be offered from banks, very honest about the cars we looked at and seemed very knowledgeable. When I finally pulled the trigger to buy Andy was thorough with all paperwork and (with the help of the service staff) made sure my new (used) Nissan Rogue looked perfect and ran perfectly. Peter made all the final finance signing and warranty discussions a breeze and was also SUPER knowledgeable and funny! Brought my Toyota Camry in for new tires. (1) Service agent couldn't tell me the difference between the tires (Bridgestone vs Yokohama). He asked me... (2)Bought 4 new tires, alignment, and oil change. (+$600 spent) and the tires look like they were pulled from a mud pit at a construction site. They didn't have the decency to even dust them off or ( exceed expectation) run my car through their car wash. I got in my car and there were oil grease stains on the button for flashers and steering wheel. I'm disappointed in the service, because I went to a Toyota dealership opposed to a mom and pop repair/ tire shop for knowledge and quality of care for my Toyota vehicle. Principle Toyota....frankly they should remove the "principle" out of their name. My experience with them is that they can't be trusted and lack integrity. Purchased a used Toyota from them for my use while in Memphis. The salesman was very pleasant and straightforward. We had a deal, a very specific deal as to what I'd pay "out the door".... that is, when the salesman and I both agreed to a "final" number and we shook on it....then, after that, management worked very hard to change that number. Several times. I almost walked out and frankly should have. As part of the sale, they offered a 30 day warranty with the vehicle. Within 24 hrs, I began having numerous problems with the car. Initially, they advised me of the "cost" of the repairs. I reminded them of my 30 day warranty. It was clear from my conversation with the manager that he had no plans to honor the warranty. At all. We had two very focused conversations. I was very firm that they were going to honor their warranty and resolve the issues. Period. I advised him that I was going to escalate and "take all necessary action to hold them to honor the 30 day warranty" that came with the car. Two notes: 1) the "check engine" light and two other associated lights came on and in fact, are still on....as best that I can tell, what they originally did was disconnect the battery, which extinguishes those lights for some time, maybe a week or a couple hundred miles; 2) while this was a very disappointing experience, in the end the dealer replaced some parts and resolved two of the three issues. The car runs fine, although I still drive around with with the "check engine", "VSC" and "Trac Off" lights on....that was never resolved, despite them replacing the evap canister. read more

Terrible experience. They agreed to a price for me to buy a new car with cash. Everyone involved clearly understood it was a cash transaction. Curiously, they never asked me to sign a fact sheet about the deal after I gave them a deposit. Now I know why. When I returned the next day to give them a check and pick up the car, they tried to add $500 to the price at the last second because I wasn't financing it. It was all sketchy, and I believe intentionally planned. They made sure to not have anything in writing, and then tried to get me all excited and motivated to drive away in a new car, and they figured they could bend me over for another $500 at the last minute. Nope. Looking at other reviews, I see I'm not the only one they tried to pull this stunt on. Don't trust these guys, and get everything in writing beforehand. read more

The service here was poor in comparison to the service received at the Chuck Hutton toyota location. Staff here was not friendly and not eager to greet customers once they arrived. Dealership doesn't check vehicle wheel alignment unless asked and does not provide customer with multipoint inspection results. Lounge area was bad as well the TV was not working and the temperature was uncomfortable. The wait time for my wheel alignment was about an hour and a half. The chuck hutton location's employees are always pleasant, they check your alignment as soon as you drive up and provide the results of the alignment check and multipoint inspection. The chuck hutton toyota location has faster service and a much better waiting area for customers. Principle toyota needs to really improve on the service and experience it provides customers because currently it is below average. read more

2 hours for service with an oil change. I sent a message to John and I'm still waiting to find out whether my car is ready. No answer. No thank you for your service. So we arrive on time and there is John who explained to me that Lexus would provide service for free. Uh, yeah but they don't have any appointments until next Thursday so I need it done. Then I'm told that it will be 1.5 hours if they have the part and 2 hours if they don't. Why so long if they don't? Someone will have to drive to the Lexus dealership to pick up a filter. Really? Hmmm. Did I not have an appt? Did you not know that I had a Lexus? So we go sit in the lounge. No WiFi under the SSID Toyota Guest. Multiple customers without a mask. We go sit outside on the ground because other mask wearing patrons are sitting outdoors. We hit 1.5 hours and no response from John. My SUV is parked in the lot. An associate looks for John and he's not in the area. There is literally a line of people in the doorway waiting for help and she dealt with the traffic. I tell her that my car is parked in the parking lot. She was kind enough to get my paperwork to close me out. She helped the person in front of me. I just hope that the parts and labor were on point for this service because the Service Rep was not efficient or customer friendly read more

DO NOT GO HERE!! My experience with Principle Toyota has been without a doubt the worst customer service I have ever experience out of anywhere I've been. When I initially went to buy my car, the agent repeatedly belittled my family and kept saying how he didn't need us to buy this car and didn't care whether we did or not. What kind of a car salesman talks like that? We hadn't even gotten to negotiations yet. During negotiations, he talked down to my father constantly. When it came down to the loan, he told us there was no way we would get a good rate without even looking until the much nicer finance manager lo' and behold gave us a good rate. Once I bought my car, I was given someone else's license tag or registration and had to go back. Now, I am experiencing the worst customer service at all. I recently had a need for my spare key and went to grab it, only to discover they had given me the WRONG SPARE KEY. It wasn't even electronic like my car requires!! Of course when I call the dealership several times and speak to three different people who all say that they will call me back, no one actually calls me back. On top of that, not a single one of them sounded remorseful or like they wanted to rectify the issue. They didn't even pretend! Even though I love my car, I regret giving this place any business. If someone actually calls back to send me the correct spare key that I was made to believe I had, maybe I would give this place 2 stars instead of 1. DO NOT GO HERE!! read more
