I needed a part for my decades-old GM (General Motors) passenger vehicle. Upon recommendation from my mechanic, I visited the Parts Department here. I received very efficient service, and the price for the car part was reasonable. The part works perfectly in my ancient car. I will return if I need additional OEM (original equipment manufacturer) parts. read more

I purchased a used Volvo from at the end of June 2026. It broke down less than a month later, and the experience since has been the worst I've had with any business -- not because of the mechanical failure, but because of how the dealership handled it. I called the service department multiple times the same day it broke down asking what to do and what transportation options were available. No one called back. I kept calling. Days passed before I reached anyone, only to be told the vehicle "should have come back under a different person" -- an internal mix-up no one bothered to communicate to me. I was promised a follow-up call by the following Monday or Tuesday. No one called. Again. I was left with zero transportation for two full weeks. No loaner, no rental, no offer of any kind. I had to visit the dealership in person multiple times just to get basic answers that no one could provide. When a rental was finally arranged after two weeks, it was too little, too late -- and I'm now two weeks into that rental with no more information about my vehicle's status than I had a month ago. I accepted a new job out of state and have had to put my relocation and employment on hold because I have no reliable vehicle. When I called this morning for yet another update, I was told the person handling my case is no longer employed at the dealership. No one notified me. No one reassigned my case. It was just... abandoned. The lack of communication, accountability, and basic customer care here is staggering. A breakdown is one thing -- it happens. But leaving a customer stranded for over a month with no answers, no urgency, and no ownership of the problem is inexcusable. read more

I'm beyond disgusted and disappointed at this point. We brought my wifes vehicle to them in March to get the AC fixed. After 3 return trips and about $3,000 later the AC still doesn't work. The final straw (after having her truck for 3 weeks) is them saying they finally fixed it but I will need to pay an additional $2,800 because they basically misdiagnosed the problem. Their explanation the previous two repairs are completely independent to this lates repair of the same system so you owe more. The vehicle has been with them a total of 6 weeks this year. And to make matters worse they never communicated that there will be additional costs, no estimate and they didn't get authorization from us. But they still say we owe them for their incompetence. The real kick in the ass is, there's no guarantee the AC will work because they have already failed 3 times to fix it. read more

This place need to shut down., very poor customer service, car sales person and they are deceitful and tricky. I told my son not to go because they have bad reviews but his (I have to learn the hard way) decided to go to this place. They will definitely try to take advantage of decent people. The experience was horrible and very disappointing to know that you will have people to try to take advantage of you. Please go some place else. I thank God and Jesus that the many, many banks would not agree to what ever it was that they submitted. The banks said that the mileage was too high, the term were too high and it seems everything they submitted were too high. Thank you Lord that the scammers didn't scam me. DO NOT USE THIS SUPPLIER FOR ANY AUTO SERVICE!!! I just moved to Germantown from Denver, CO late may 2023. My Malibu - still under warranty - needs an A/C repair. I've attempted a coolant load on my own - nada. I contacted the Chuck Hutton Chevrolet service department this afternoon and the lady (very politely) informed me that their service shop was behind 7 to 10 days. She further stated that in order to secure an appointment and to have that appointment actually held with service performed - I had to LEAVE MY CAR THERE FOR THE TIME LEADING UP TO THE APPOINTMENT. Ladies and Gentlemen - I've heard a lot of things in 62 years. This is surely the stupidest requirement I've ever had from any dealer of any brand in the 60 countries I've enjoyed. I urge anyone contemplating any purchase or service at Chuck Hutton Chevrolet Memphis, TN to look for acceptable alternatives. Unvelievable... read more

I had the GREATEST experience with the team at Chuck Hutton Chevrolet! My fiancé and I have been looking for a new truck for 3-4 weeks and went to dealerships all over town! Each experience left a bad taste in my mouth. Then one day, I walked into Chuck Hutton Chevrolet. It was the furthest away for us but I went on a whim and I met 'Sales Associate' Michael Blackard. He was PHENOMENAL and I knew right away that he deserved our business. He was courteous, honest, took time to listen to what we wanted and he assured me he would find it! He kept in touch, always answering my calls, even on his day off. When he found the vehicle we wanted, we couldn't come see it until he was off work but he had the whole staff ready for us! They treated us like we were royalty leading us to the truck Michael reserved for us. Greg was amazing, he took over when Michael wasn't there. Lance made us feel like we were the most important clients to walk in on any given day (although, I know that's just the level of customer service this dealership provides!) Finance Manager Ricky took so much time helping us get the best terms for our deal and we are HAPPY NEW CHEVY owners. When a team does business like these guys, you never want to go anywhere else! You will not regret using Chuck Hutton Chevrolet! Thank you Michael Blackard and the rest of his team for the 5 service! We will forever sing your praises. read more

Horrible experience today. Joe the service advisor was no help. Acted like I was annoying him. Took my car for service. Picked up car and it had a steering assist error when I got it back. He said it was a bad battery. We just replaced battery. They tested it said it was good. He said he would clear the error. He gave another employee my keys to give to me and tell me it was clear. I cranked same Error. Went back in and he said I had to leave it something was wrong with thermostat. He never even had a MECHANIC look at it. He plugged something in dash and called it done. This place is a scam! I went in to drop my challenger off for another time! This one was to fix my front bumper and rear bumper! Well they ended up putting a wrap on my front and rear bumper and it took them over two damn weeks to give my challenger back to me! This is a concern to me because I'm used to having my car back to me within three days! Don't even mess with these guys! Karen did an awesome job at first but they rip you off in the end! I didn't even get a receipt ! Stay away from them because they will do you wrong in the end read more

I arrived about an hour and 20 minutes early for my appointment because I got off work early. The staff was welcoming and nice. I got checked in and they took my car back. I expected to wait at LEAST and hour past my original appointment time but my vehicle was ready to go at the time of my original appointment. Not only was my service quick and painless, Angela Collins was AMAZING! Had my vehicle towed in on Monday for a starter replacement($1300) talked to my advisor Brian and he told me they could have the job done EOB. Monday they couldn't finish because they didn't have a part needed to complete the job. Tuesday they received the wrong part to do the job. EOB Wednesday my car was finished and ready to be picked up. After complaining about being lied to and broken promises. They told me that they had already taken $30 off and that's all they could do. Uber to and from work for 2 days and all they could do was $30. They even stopped giving the military discount for service. Sad day when you can't even trust a Toyota dealer to take your Toyota for service. Pretty sure this will be my last visit to this dealership. read more

I placed no less than 5 phone calls over a weeks time trying to speak with my advisor. I left messages each time and he never returned my call. My brother waited 3 hours for an 8:30 appointment job which should have taken no more than 30 minutes. If my advisor had returned my call, we would have known how long he could expect to wait and made arrangements to drop the vehicle and come back later for it. I find it unacceptable that my repeated requests to speak with someone in the service department were wholly ignored. read more

My wife's car in their shop for 12 weeks now as of September 27, 2022.. Brought the car here on July 5, 2022. Told it would be 3 to 4 weeks before they could get to it, which was fine with us. They have performed Tune up, new wires, pulled intake manifold, new fuel injectors, new egr valve, new temp sensor, cleaned seatbelt connections (airbag light) and made a new key ..... $4,600 worth of work and car is still not fixed correctly. On August 29, 2022 we went to pick it up and it had a Service engine light on. We declined accepting it and left it again waiting for it to be fixed, again. Told it needed new injectors ordered AGAIN (they had already replaced them once), finally called and told it was ready on September 15, 2022. Went there and paid for it on September 16th and picked it up. After 5 days and 100 miles +/- the Service engine light comes on again. Took the car back on September 22, 2022. THEN we were called by Service Department and told they never knew to fix the engine light being on ? The engine light was on when it came in on July 5, 2022 and was part of the stalling and shuddering... They (Chuck Hutton) were also asked to save ALL old parts that were replaced for customer, they did NOT. Now it's September 27th and not fixed yet, they are "diagnosing" it..... which is "we will get to it when we feel like it". Seems they enjoy having people wait if it's an older car, the Owner/President either Henry Hutton or Steve Hutton never return emails or phone calls.... VERY sad service. Once this is corrected and completed as it should have been for the $4,600.00 we paid, I will not be back. Oh, BTW... DO NOT believe the corny response from owner or management of Chuck Hutton stating they are "so sorry" and please give us a call to help get this corrected that they will post in response to this.... If you look, it is their standard response to all bad reviews which is worth NOTHING..... Buyer beware, service at your own risk and time.... VERY sad when hard working people are treated like this when they only wanted their car fixed right the FIRST time. read more

I had a car basically bought...they added an Extended Warranty, locking lug nuts, window tinting and $200 worth of Nitrogen to the tires... unauthorized by me...so...no sale. What a ripoff! I, routinely go in for an oil change and a tire rotation for my 2017 Chevy Equinox. Paid $105.37. On Nov 08, 2021 at 0715 Donna Williams assisted me as always. I waited on my vehicle. After receiving my car and taking it back home, when it was time to go to work that evening 2100 (9PM) my car would not start. I checked my receipt to see if there were any mention about my battery being low or needed replacement. No mention. Also my window sticker even shows all three green check marks for : Tires/Brakes/Batteries indicating all areas are good! I had to call into work, not having another vehicle to travel. On Nov 09 I called Chuck Hutton 2471 Mt. Moriah Road Memphis TN where I had my service done. I explained the situation and told me I would have to pay for my own tow truck and a full inspection is 15days out before they could get to my car. Leaving me with no other options. I asked for Donna and she was able to at least get my car looked over once it got there. I had to pay $98.00 for a tow truck from D's Wrecker Service INC. Donna told me my batteries bad. I told her according to my service receipt and sticker in the window it says my battery is good. She charged me $239.98 for a battery! I had to pay out of my pocket AGAIN for something I was told was good and lost wages from work! I demanded to speak with the services manager. I was only escorted to Service Manager Darryl Downs until after I paid for my battery!!!!! I felt awful! I felt they wanted to make sure they had my money first! That's when Donna called Darryl to let him know i paid for my battery. When I was escorted to Darryl Downs office he wasn't friendly. Never got out his seat to greet me, wasn't personable nor relatable to my concerns. Darryl Downs was more interested explaining to me how a battery works/dies. I'm not inexperienced with batteries and what he told me was to only pacify me. I wasn't refunded my towing. I wasn't heard as a customer. This was not satisfied service nor treatment. What happened to care/concern/ fear of losing a customer. The service people and managers are not scared of losing business. This is evident! Warranty is Forever as it says on Darryl Downs recent email to me. Darryl Downs did not stand by that statement! 100% Satisfied wasn't honored. I just wanted my towing refunded because I was told my battery was good and I had to pay for someone's mistake. Accountability and principle was not met. This is not my first time at odds with this place! I will never go back to Chuck Hutton on Mt. Moriah 2471 Memphis, TN. BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE read more

8/13/20......Today has been a day in HELL at Chuck Hutton Chevrolet Service Department. After car was serviced for same issue today,,,, and charged for part that they should have picked up in original diagnostic test done on 8/7/2020. I seriously doubt at this moment that new parts have been placed on my cars for repairs. A service contract was active on my vehicle and price of supposely new parts tripple!!!!. ,,,,, Services done on my car was for driver seat reclining issues. After waiting 5 hours, I was finally call by service advisor stating that my car was ready. This time, they stated a switch had to be replaced on driver seat. Again, repairs only directed to my Car seat, Once when I started to drive off the lot, a heard a loud rattling sound coming from upper portion of my car. Someone in Service Shop had broken upper Latch Release and other parts broken from my convertible. I immedmiately ask to speak to Shop Foreman/Derrick and GM/ Carey Melsom. None wanted to take responsibi;ity of tampered broken parts to my vehicle, stating no one messed with that part of my car. THIS IS TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE!" .......THINGS HAPPENS FOR A REASON!... THEY GOT THE RIGHT ONE THIS TIME FOR SURE! read more

Good luck getting a return call from the service department. I left multiple messages about an emergency repair I needed for over 4 hours one morning. I can't begin to tell you how terrible the service department and body shop are. After taking my vehicle to the body shop for repairs from an accident, I waited.. then waited.. finally after a few weeks with no communication I called. They said they're working on it.. another week goes by and they called and said my vehicle was ready.. it wasn't . They incorrectly installed parts on the fender and headlights, also they didn't fix the idling issue . So now I left without a vehicle. After another two months of driving back and forth , speaking with service managers, showing them what the issue was they finally called and told me they couldn't fix my Chevrolet truck! They literally gave up and told me that there's nothing they could do. So after 3 months time they returned my truck to me in worse running condition than when it was brought in. Insurance told me to take it to another dealership, which I did. This is the worst place to take a vehicle. Not enough room to even describe the hassle of dealing with them. My truck was fixed quickly by another shop and I was told that they most likely did an override on the sensor system to keep the check engine light from coming on.. another note: Monica in the service department was the rudest person I've ever spoke to, she did not care about the situation, my truck or my concerns. I personally sat in her office twice to be treated and talked to like crap. Beware. They'll mess your vehicle up worse and lie straight to your face. Doesn't even deserve 1 star read more

I am currently waiting on my truck for an oil change. I scheduled an appointment for 12:00 and even came 15 min early. Was told that it would take 2-3 hours. Well I have been here for 4 hours now and is highly pissed. My blood pressure always go up when I come here! Why schedule appointments when you have people to come without one to take your spot?? I think this is the last time I'm bringing my truck to this location. I have been sitting here reading all of the negative reviews and agree with each and every one! read more

Terrible service. They don't honor their advertised prices. They are terribly disorganized. They mess up schedules and are poor making contact and keeping us informed. We have had basic work such as warranty recalls and oil changes (on a $40k new car) and they still don't seem to care about us any time we have been in. We had some body work done in their body shop and it took them 4 visits to blend paint. Seriously, if you can go somewhere else I would advise doing so - just on their bad customer service alone. I am not sure I trust their repair work either. read more

This review is of the Collision Center, which I recommend highly. Communication was regular and clear, the repair for which I brought the car was done well, and when I noticed a minor cosmetic issue (a small bit of trim was omitted when the repaired door was restored to the car) a few days later, they quickly ordered the part and placed the trim during my lunch hour. read more

I urge anyone looking for a new vehicle or getting there current vehicle serviced to stay away from this dealership. Every single time we come in there is an issue rather it be a new vehicle we're purchasing or getting the new vehicle serviced. If you value good service or a dealership with any competence stay away from chuck Hutton. It's a shame when you buy new vehicles from a place and have to take them else where to get serviced because the service department is ran so poorly. Be it damaging a vehicle we've dropped off for paint work, ignoring you while you wait in the service line to be helped, or not knowing anything about the vehicle you left with them and not be able to answer any questions on it you can get it all at chuck Hutton I'll make sure anyone and everyone looking to buy a car knows! read more

Bought a car from them, the 2 salesmen I worked with were eager to sell a car, polite and helpful and never had the feeling they were being overly pushy. Getting car serviced there is a whole other deal. The shuttle takes forever to run, especially considering my last car was bought and serviced at Jim Keras and their shuttle will have you picked up within 20 minutes compared to chuck hutton which takes around an hour. They did a good job servicing the car, but whatever you do, don't expect a smile from anyone. They are just there to pick up a paycheck and hospitality is the least of their concerns. read more

I dropped my car off Monday with an appointment. No one still hasn't gotten back with me. Called multiple times attempting to get some type of update. The receptionist was the one that told me that my car was still waiting to go in the shop. Everything about them is Unprofessional. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. Once I get my car back I won't do business with them again. Never had this issue with Dodge. Dodge was professional, friendly, easy to get in touch with. They have less people also. I was traveling and brought my new car there for it's first oil change which is covered by Chevrolet under the car's warranty. The recommended oil is Mobil One and it's printed right on the oil cap. After I questioned it she said she double-checked with and trusted the Shop Manger who's been there 40+ years. I don't know if they're just incompetent or trying to make an extra buck but I had to get my dealer's service manager on the phone and insist they put in Mobil One.
