This business is a joke. After being with them 10 years and going thru 4 owners I just can't see how no one has sued them. I ended my lease and no one came to do a walk thru before I moved out. It took them over 30 days after I left. I was told I owed money for repairs that they never proved to me. I took pictures bUT no one in the office would send me pictures or tell me what I owed for. I sent them a letter asking for a report but 60 days later still nothing. The new owners did not reply to any of my requests. My lease was to have a Gardner but they stopped showing up but they never sent another even if the owner was paying for it. Why is it that this business has had so many owners in 10 years. I used Gorenter.com as a pretty manager in Phoenix. I was strapped for time and did not have time to do my research, which I greatly regret. Their sales team is very good and will sell you on their service by promising low monthly fees... Do not believe it, they lie beyond belief. I payed them the monthly rent for the first few months because of all the fees they do not tell you about. Once you sign up with them, they do not help out with anything and they are terrible at returning phone calls,.. I called the sales guy at his home, baby screaming in the background and all in order to have him call the realtor and make him call me. I tried to talk to them multiple times each time, it took days for them to get back to me.. Until today... I cancelled with them two days ago and today I got a letter recognizing they were fired.. I anticipate a letter soon with them charging me fees.. They are by far the worst company to deal with, I am the owner.i spoke with the tenant and they begged me to fire them also, so I knew it wasn't just me.. I am almost certain that they only care about the hire and fire because that is where they make money.. The in between part is where they are terrible and should be arrested because they are a bunch of crooks.. This company is full of scams. When I first moved into the house I was renting it didn't even have light bulbs, and they wouldn't even buy new ones, claiming that it was part of their "personal property." Give me a break. When they came to check out the place, they send some super sketchy dude who didn't even have a hood on his car and I didn't feel comfortable having him in my house. Their customer service is putrid. Good luck on trying to hear back from anyone in any kind of timely fashion. They will nickle and dime you every chance they get. read more

My boyfriend and I moved to Phoenix from WA state last year and found a house through GoRenter online. I had my friend do a walk through of the house and he did tell me that the house was really dirty and needed to be cleaned. I guess I was niave and thought once they got a renter and a signed lease the house would be cleaned and move-in ready once I arrived in Arizona...nope. I got to the home and there were dead bugs and dog crap on the floors inside the house. I had to bleach the floors 3 times before i would bring anything inside. It took us two weeks to get the weeds in the yard taken care of (they were up to our waist), and maintenance was out pretty much every week for the first month we were here. On one occassion the toilet in the master bathroom needed to be replaced so they removed it and placed it in our bedroom and left it there over the weekend! When I notified them about an 8 foot long crack in the ceiling I was told that it would not be fixed unless it started leaking! In June we started the complaints about the AC going out. We made several phone calls and they told us the owner was the one who dealt with that issue. The repair guy came out 3 times and said, basically that nothing was wrong and the owner himself told me that all the houses in AZ got less AC flow in some of the rooms so I should just get used to it. In Sept I gave a 10 day repair notice and Oct a new repair company came out and discovered the unit was wired wrong and that the ducting had issues but the owner did not authorize it to get fixed. I literally lost 40 lbs over the summer because we could not afford to move or take the owner or GoRenter to court. Once we got our tax return we moved and the house got sold. I'm glad to be out of there and will never rent from that company again!! read more

I was a property owner with this company. It was far and away THE worst company ever. I had a 100% eviction rate due to tenants not paying. 9 total. That takes some serious skill to be this bad. We had the most awful experience with this company. We signed up with them thinking they would be a reasonably priced property manager. Little did we know it would be death by a thousand needles. It seemed like every time anything happened on our property we were socked with a ridiculous array of fees. Additionally when we tried to talk to them about that we were told to take our business elsewhere if we didn't like it, but they would charge us a 3 month penalty for leaving them. I used Gorenter for a few years as a landlord. I was a new landlord so I didn't know what to expect. I started out managing the properties myself but had to transfer to Chicago and needed help. I was in such a hurry and these guys seemed pretty reasonable on their monthly fees so I signed up my two rentals and the home I was living went up for rent and I shipped out to Chicago. Shortly after I moved, I had a tenant skip out on rent and Gorenter ended up charging me well into the thousands for the eviction + they never collected on the tenant. The tenant they placed on my Phoenix property were scammers. They kept coming up with excuses, asking for concessions, they destroyed the property and if it wasn't for a law firm called Keyt I would have never collected because Gorenter does NOT collect. By the way, Keyt gives you almost every tool you need and they can fully evict with judgement and garnishment for less than $300. The other two tenants they placed also skipped out on rent. Both of them destroyed my other two properties. One of them was in such bad shape that I had to foreclose on it when I lost my job in Chicago. Needless to say, I fired them as soon as I possibly could, moved back to AZ. Since then, I have been managing both of my properties. One tenant is going on 3 years and just signed another 2 year lease. She's an absolute delightful tenant. The other property was an 18 month lease and the tenants aren't perfect because they have racked up a few HOA fines but they have paid on time every month and have almost settled up on their HOA fines. All of my tenants are responsive when called upon and they take great care of the properties. I guess you could say the apple doesn't fall too far from the tree with Gorenter. They nickel and dime you, they have hidden fees, their legal support is way too expensive, they dont collect on tenants that break the lease. On top of that the tenants they placed did nothing but destroy my properties and finances. Worst experience I have ever had and I'm reluctant to ever use another property manager again. read more

I'm an owner who used gorenter back in 2007. Rest assured they were no better back then so we fired them in 2008. Fast forward 5 years and out of the blue I get a letter saying we owe them money for expenses they recently incurred in skip tracing their deadbeat tenant from 2007. They claim that provisions in the old prop mgt agreement are still in effect even though it was terminated years ago. As far as I know, the statute of limitations for going after a tenant in AZ is 2 yrs. Gorenter is a joke and scam. Unless you've experienced them for yourself, you would not believe all the stories on here. Stay away from them. read more

Moved out at end of my lease, did move inspection and all. 5 months later I get my wages garnished because they're demanding 2300$ for fees and other bullshit. Total rip off! I own my stupidity in not noticing the extra monthly fee in the lease, but like most people i look specifically at the monthly rent and what I owned upon move in. What a surprise that I am not TOTALLY overpaying for the condo I rented through them. This is on top of the up front adminstration fee of $250.00. RENTER BEWARE!!!! I rented a house from gorenter for over a year. Hundreds of dollars of hidden fees were added at the end of the years lease, and when I moved out they never offered a walk-through. My mistake. They not only kept all of my deposit they charge me over $700 more. I kept up the home as only I lived there, no kids. My boyfriend and I cleaned the yard, trimmed the bushes and followed the list of "to do" things gorenter gave me for move out. I didn't even use 2 of the 3 bedrooms, however they charged me over $1000 to repaint a 1300 sq ft home. And this home was painted with stark white, flat paint on rough walls so it was hard to dust. The owner left mutliple constrution items in the laudry room that I was told had to stay, and then when I left they charged me over $200 to haul them away! When I wrote a letter to complain they told me too bad, it was in the lease! I'm just sick that I worked hard to keep this home up and I was fleeced. Now they've added over $200 in collection fees and they are threatening to garnish my wages. Look at all the other reviews. I'm not some dead beat who trashed a home. I'm an honest person, who takes pride in keeping my home clean and taken care of. Just want everyone to beware!!! read more

GoRenter was the property manager for a number of years of our rental home. They did a poor job of screening tenants to the extent that we had to get judgements against a couple of them. They allowed tenants to make physical modifications to the home and install illegal and unsafe lighting equipment. When this was brought up and asked to them to make good on the corrections, an amount of less than $1000 - they refused citing that it was a prior management company that allowed them. It was not another management company, but the same one company with a name change, and with the same principals. Stay away from them! read more

Go Renters...They will STEAL your money..Dont let them fool you with 1st months rent free... They will get the money by sticking you with stupid HOA violations ,and stick you with the previous renter water/srp bills.. then when you go online to pay your rent you are suppose to know that YOU are to request the Activation code to activate your account .. but in the meantime you will be charge a 50.00 late fee for being 1 day late!! When I moved in they gave me 2 garage openers that DIDN'T work.. No gate opener ..Front door lock is broken..2 Large windows in 2 of the bedrooms have huge crackes.. the back slider door doesnt open.. DO NOT USE go Renter IF YOU ARE A OWNER!!! We lost money with this company due to their neglect to the person renting. The first renter only paid their full rent 5 month out of the 9 months that they lived there. go Renter chose to let them make a rent payment plan a few month with out asking us (witch the renter did not pay in full). When we drew the line and told go Renter to evict we were charged for all the late and unpaid fees that the renter had not paid. The renter left the house trashed with holes in the walls, old food in the fridg (with no power) food on the floor, they tore up my irrigation system for the plants, they laid concrete in the back yard with out permission, they kept the keys for the house mail box and garage door openers. We did all of the cleaning and repairs and submitted the bills to go Renter and ironically after all the eviction fees that go Renter had for us the two bills washed each other out so we lost over $1000 for the repairs. The renter was doing and growing drugs in my house with the proof left behind. When we found the new renters (WE FOUND) go Renter still charged us for the fees for them finding the renter. Then it took go Renter three months to remove the lock box from the front door after we asked three times and the new renter asked many times. After we waited for the proper time frame to cancel our contract with go Renter (Nov 15 through Dec 15) we were still charged fees for canceling the contract with them. The bottom line is that go Renter said our gross income was $6,777.47 but the net that we had received from them was $3877.70 minus the $1,805 that we had to pay for the repairs from the first renters then the houses mortgage. GoRenter is the biggest joke ever! Please do not use this guys if you are looking for a company to manage your properties. There is a ridiculously amount of hidden fees, no incentive on their part to make sure they are doing a good job...they put a bad tenant in?? More money for them evicting them, another leasing/marketing fee and monthly management fee during the whole process while your rental is vacant. I thought they would meet the prospectus tenants at the rental to show it for the interested applicants....no they just call over phone and give anyone the lockbox code over the phone....so complete strangers are walking thru your house constantly. DO NOT use their qualified contracts to do the repairs! They will charge you up the ass for stupid simple repairs....paint over a small 1sq/ft area on wall...$175, swap out a leaking shower head with a new 1....$225, Trim a broken branch from a tree that broke during a rainstorm...$275....what a joke! I have a duplex managed by them with 1 of the units vacant and I'm waiting for the lease of the occupied unit to expire so I can have the tenants move out and go in and do a rehab converting the duplex into a single family home and I basically have to tell them to leave the current vacant unit alone until this November when I can cancel the contract with avoiding their fees. So I will pay their stupid $25 monthly management fee x 12 (25x12=300) verses canceling now and paying 600 + 3 months management fee 25x3=75 for a total of $675....I will never use this company again once I'm fully parted ways with them and will make sure to do my best to get the word out to other investors. I work in the real estate field and am a member of AZREIA (Arizona Real Estate Investors Association) And Believe me I will expose these crooks for who they are. After moving out, the company decided to replace the entire house full of carpet and paint at super high prices and do repairs that were not needed. charging us over $18,000 for repairs....then collection fees of over $4000.they provided pictures of the house for proof but in the pictures there was no damage to the carpet or paint. the repairs were things that needed repair before we moved in. the owner lives out of the country and had no idea if the repairs were needed and therefore accepted them and they fooled him as well. they used a bait an switch tactic as well. They showed us the place on way, then after we signed a lease they added a gate to the pool, so we took it down and put it in the garage, now they are charging us for it to be put back up.now they are charging us $18,000 and $4000 for collection fees.....rip-off experts.... read more

This is an amazing second chance company. There rental requirements are reasonable, and the agent was kind and very informative. We moved into a beatiful home. Upon move in there were a few items that needed to be repaired in which were taken care of immediatley. In fact there was an apology for not responding with-in 24 hours. I left a message at 1am and recieved a call back by 9am. AWESOME! In which specialist were sent, not your every day handy man to handle the challenges. Only downfall are fees for everything. I am also an owner who used Gorenter and I made the biggest mistake doing so. My tenant moved out at the end of Dec. I was not informed until Dec 26. I wanted to list the house for sale and told the agent. He referred me to the sale department, knowing that I want to sell and not rent any more. They stil somehow without my knowledge listing the house for rent and charge me 600 dollars for leasing/marketing fee, and almost 300 dollars for cancellation fees, plus almost 300 dollars for "security check and monthly managment fees for three months after I already informed them I wanted to cancel the leasing contract. Also, the real estate agent I list my house for rent already picked up the keys in June but Gorenters still charge me "security check" and "maintemaince fee" Then the account receivable lady named Emilee Keeler was nothing but rude to owner. You would think they want to be nice so you would list the house for rent or sale with them again in the future. Terrible company. If you have a house. DO NOT LIST YOUR HOUSE WITH THEM. They treat you , the owners and your t,nants like shit. RUN AWAY AS FAR AS YOU CAN FROM THIS COMPANY. If there is a no star, I would rate them that. I am filing the complaint with the Real estate board for Arizona, They probably don't care about the BBB but you all should file a complaint against the managing broker with the Real Estate Board of Arizona. read more

Like many of you I should have read these reviews before I decided to go with GORENTER as my management company. They gave me a renter that I did not want because they were not qualified, but they said I had to because it is AZ LAW! The renter stayed for six months-late paid rent for three and left the house a shambles. Quess who was willing to make repairs and try to chase the x renter to pay-$5000 later. I stayed with them so I could get a new renter but 6 months later still no renter so I decided to sell the house. Quess what! $several thousand in cancellation fees, marketing fees, legal fees etc. I was unwilling to pay the total amount so they added 40% (check your contract it's there) and sued me. I plan to go to court to fight this but their contract is pretty tight. I reported them to the AZ real estate Board and the department of real estate and we will see how that goes. My suggestion is to stay away from them-do not rent from them and do not use them as a management company. read more

OMG i hate this company. I never use the word hate and its rare in my vocabulary, but after 8 months of clogged sinks, toilets and bathtubs I have no other word to use. I have made over 34 maintanace requestsin 8 months. They came out unclogged it for 2 days and it was clogged again. They keep telling me that they needed to get ahold of the owner but I did before them and he knew nothing about it. Mold started growing in the bathrooms a few months later (which my youngest is highly allergic to) and told them about. Their response was I am sure its not that dangerous. I was floored! "That dangerous?" Finally they came and did a air quality test and I HAD TO CALL THEM and ask for the results. It came back as bad air with mold particles. So they told me to use the nieghbors bathroom for now!!! What? really? I rent a home to be in it not with the neighbor! So they came a dug an 8 foot hole 20 feet wide and left it there. Its been almost 2 weeks and I have small children, its like a swimming pool without a fence around it. There is dirt coming from my tubs and sinks and on a good day the toilet would actually flush. On occasion while opening the cupboards or drawers for a plate or spoon the drawer stayed in my hand and the cupboard doors would fall off. But to them that was cosmetic issues, not their problem. I finally got a hold of the owner and told me to find somewhere else to live that it was not ok to be there. So now I asked to get something on paper FROM Gorenter.com to state that it was ok to break the lease due to health reasons or what not and they refuse. They want to sue me when I was told from my owner that it was ok to move! I have a letter from the owner but other realtors want something from gorenter.com befor ethey rent to me. I havent got any respone and left 100 messages. I have NEVER had a judment aainst me I never want one, and they are making this difficult for me! Please for safety issues gorenter is very irresposible when it comes to the well being of their tenants. My owner is leaving them as well. And 1 star IS WAY TOO MUCH FOR THEM I WISH THEY HAD NEGATIVE 5 STARS! read more

We stayed in a house that go renter had rented to us we stayed in it for five plus years over a period of that time normal wear and tear is going to happen no matter what so when we moved in it costed 3000 bucks and that was was a joke but we needed a place ,so when my girlfriend brought a house we moved out upon moving out we made sure that the carpets were steamed, the only thing that we forgot to do is wipe the thick dust off the fans, that's not a big deal, but we forgot so anyhow the 3000 bucks that we used to get in gorenter took all of our money except 300 of it and they said that they had to clean some weeds dirt out front and other things how does 3000 bucks amount to cleaning up some weeds and dirt and some fans well in my opinion gorenter will fuck you out of your deposit they all ways will find another place to rent from this company over charges and will raise the rent on you this company should be hooked up with isis and they never came out to fix any of the appliances. read more
