    Horrible service.

Horrible customer service and never open when sign clearly states it's open. Won't be coming here any longer!

Came on a Sat around noon it was closed! They did not even had the decency to put a close notice, it said in their hour operation that they should be open.

Stumbled upon this great find for lunch. Fresh and flavorful. Made to order. The entire family enjoyed, even my 4 yr old son. Cash only. They don't have pico or limes. Which was surprising, but still great nonetheless. We ordered the #1- 2 gorditas w/ beans & rice. I had the picadillo (my favorite; you can really taste the herb and spices. Pico & limes would have been great addition) and the verde. (If you like spicy, order this). My husband had the verde and mole. Then he ordered a picadillo after seeing mine. The mole he didn't care for and I have never liked mole. My son had bistec and loved it. We will definitely be coming back.

Gorditas Lily - wow! How did we not find you as soon as you opened? Lunchtime came around yesterday, and we did the usual 'what's for lunch today?' bit - my buddy said, "Hey, there's a Gorditas place on Cave Creek - looks like where 2 Sisters Thai used to be - only 3 reviews, but they're all good - let's check it out" Walked in and checked out the menu...asked the nice young lady working there, "so, what do I want?" She guided me toward the Carne Deshebrada gorditas...I couldn't decide whether I wanted red (Rojo) or green (Verde), so I got one of each. The Rojo was really tasty - great flavor, and with some of the salsa they provided, it was terrific! The Verde is the spicier of the two - left a nice afterglow on the lips - also really great flavor (and give it some of the salsa, too!) My buddy got a Verde and the Chile Relleno gordita - from his reaction, I goofed...he said the Chile Relleno gordita was the best new thing he's tried in months. Shucks...now we have to go back, soon! :-) Folks, get over here and pack this place - we want to make sure they're here for a long time - what are you waiting for? Get in the car. Drive. I'll wait... P.S. Don't let the Pepsi refrigerator behind the counter throw you - they have bottles of Coke :-)

I drove all the way from El Mirage to try these gorditas and I am completely addicted and willing to drive all the way back for more, I got a bunch of chicharron, 2 frijoles con queso & 3 with mole and all of them were amazing and even my mother loved them, it was our 1st time trying this restaurant and I would highly recommend to friends and family authentic taste

I stopped by there today to find some delicious gorditas and I was not disappointed. I lived down in Mexico for two years and these Gorditas were authentic and delicious. Not only was the food top notch but the service was great and the staff were very friendly. If you love authentic Mexican food, then you must try this place. P.s. At this time they only only accept cash as a form of payment, however, the food is well worth the inconvenience. Hopefully, this will change in the future.

Nice staff, clean place, and outstanding food. Each gordita has an incredible aroma and rich taste. I would recommend to try them all if you can, because each of them taste so different. The flour gorditas are toasted nicely and has a real authentic flour tortilla taste.

¡Delicioso! Locally owned! Freshly handmade when you order. The owner is friendly and greets you as soon as you walk in. Fast order taking, short wait time. Worth every bite! Definitely a go to spot if you're craving gorditas!

So you come in the side door to the dining room . Wait staff all greet you and guide you to the dining room, festooned with roses and talavera tiles. It's not kitschy, just gorgeous. The menu is ample and you can't go wrong with anything. The initial refrito dip, tho yummy, has pork. But they have the best, the absolute best black beans!! Try them just for a change. You'll be converted. The dining area is small but cozy and beautifully done. So enjoy!!

The restaurant is inside of an old brick home with wood interior and warm colors. The service was good-- friendly and food came out at a good pace, we were checked on regularly. We ordered an appetizer and then entrees from the lunch menu. The aguachile appetizer is SO good. It's bright, fresh, and has a lot of flavor in the green sauce. It reminds me of a ceviche type dish due to its raw butterflied shrimp that is marinated in the house made chile serrano & cilantro citrus sauce. It was awesome. We were also given free chips & house made bean dip. I ordered the mixed two item plate with a chile rellano and taco corazon (grilled taco dipped in a red chile sauce, stuffed with shredded beef & melted cheese. Topped with grilled onions). The black beans and rice is also tasty. I tried a bite of the other dishes, and I also really liked the brightly colored spinach & cheese enchiladas with pink sauce ( signature beet sauce). I look forward to trying other items from the menu, I was eyeing the steak Mexicano or red snapper. Those dishes sound good for dinner.

Out of all the restaurants I had before leaving Arizona, THIS ended up being one of the places I couldn't stop thinking about after I moved away. Ever since leaving, I've randomly craved these tacos constantly. I've tried other taco spots in Denver hoping something would compare, but honestly nothing really hit the same. So when I came back out to Phoenix recently to visit some friends, this was one of the first places I knew I needed to come back to because I had built it up so much in my head over time. And somehow... it was just as good again. The meat tastes incredibly fresh, flavorful, and well-seasoned, and you can literally watch them prepare everything right in front of you, which makes the whole experience even better. There's something so satisfying about seeing the tacos being made fresh instead of food just appearing from the kitchen. You can tell they care about quality and consistency. The servers were also super friendly and welcoming both times I came here, which honestly makes such a difference. Everyone had great energy, the service was quick, and the whole place just feels inviting and authentic. I honestly think the fact that I remembered this place so vividly for so long says everything. Usually when you revisit a restaurant after hyping it up in your head for years, it ends up disappointing you. But this place tasted exactly how I remembered it, fresh, flavorful, comforting, and absolutely worth the obsession. Safe to say this place is officially a mandatory stop for me anytime I'm back in Phoenix now.

Also bring a group. The portions are huge and the food is clearly meant to be shared. Trust me on this one, bring friends. I've tried a bunch of dishes here, and there are a few I always go back to. For the table, Camarones Locos is an easy choice. The flame grilled shrimp comes out hot and full of flavor, perfect for passing around. La Patrona ceviche tower is massive and worth the order. When it hits the table, you immediately feel good about the decision. El Pulpazo is technically an entrée, but we always order it as a shareable. The octopus is grilled perfectly and it comes with rice and beans, so everyone gets a little of everything. For entrées, my number one pick is the Lobster and Crab Enchiladas with green sauce. I think about this dish at least once a week. The enchiladas are packed with lobster and crab, and the green sauce ties the whole thing together. Honestly, I could talk about this place all day. If you like Mexican food and seafood, you need to try it. Great food, big portions, and a menu that makes it hard to stop ordering.

This review is for the totality of the experience…read more I made an advance reservation at Alma Scottsdale for a mid-sized group of 7 to celebrate a special occasion. Our party arrived right on time for our reservation, but we were not seated until 15 min later because our table was not ready. It took about an additional 15 min to get tap water for the table (there was not enough provided anyways), and to place our orders too another ~20 min. The food did not arrive until 30 min later. For context, we eventually learned that the restaurant was short staffed and the bartender was also operating as our waiter. When the food finally arrived, there was a mix-up on what was delivered. We had checked with the staff who delivered one of the dishes: we ordered the "wild mushroom" side, but what we received did not look quite like it. We asked clarifying questions x2, but were assured, "no, it is the wild mushroom." Turned out, it was the mushroom empanada that was delivered to our table, which we originally did not order. The management did rectify the situation upon the conclusion of the event when we were paying the bill, but to us, it felt a bit accusatory as if we intentionally wanted to cause a huge fuss about the final total, which was absolutely not the case. The food in general was delicious. If this was a more standard dining experience, it would have been 4-5 stars just for the food. The service was very subpar, and really colored the entire experience negatively, therefore the two star review. I understand that staffing shortages happen -- fine. My family has worked in food service as wait staff for 25+ YEARS, so I am empathetic. But for management to ring up our bill and then come confront us in an inflammatory manner, making us feel like we were wrong, on an occasion to celebrate something special, was extremely disappointing.
