I was told I would pay about $45 - $50 every month after the install was complete. The summer months would create a credit that would be applied to the winter months when there was not as much sun. The sales representative said he would come back after installation to make sure we were happy and to contact him with any questions. $30,000 later, I get a $250+ bill during the winter months. I sometimes have 1 maybe 2 months where I don't get a bill (somewhere between May and July). I never heard from the salesman again. When trying to contact him, no answer and he never returned my calls. This company is very, very shady. Installation was completed in October. We didn't go online until next March. They blamed the city and at the time, I laughed it off as that might be the case. Now I question if it was the case at all. I have a continual issue where at times, 1 of the panels does not produce anything during that day. This happens about once or twice a month. I called Fluent Solar on this multiple times (like over 10 times and probably closer to 20) they sent someone out 2 or 3 times. Each time they came out it was working that day so they said there was nothing they could do. I finally told them, look, this is your problem, replace the whole system, I don't care. Just fix it. They never did fix it. I still have the problem. We had bad hail a couple of years ago and had the roof replaced last year. Fluent Solar wanted to charge us over $3,000 to remove and replace the solar panels. The roofing company told us we were being ripped off and they had a company that could do it for $800. I called Fluent Solar and told them we were going to have the other company do the remove/reattach. They told us they would void the warranty if we did that. I went with the $800 company. Needless to say, we have no warranty with them anymore which doesn't really matter as they didn't do anything in the first place. I thought about suing them but they would probably come up with some fine print or some other excuse on why they are the "perfect" company. Companies like this shouldn't be in business. Do yourself a favor and go with another company. You don't need the nightmares they are going to create for you.

We were told that we could cancel anytime before materials were delivered with no cost to us. The representative lied to us about the tax credit and how it worked. So, we chose to cancel well before material delivery. Now almost 6 months later, they are trying to charge us a cancellation fee. I do not recommend using this company as they are not truthful when asking point blank questions.

I permitted Sun Run to install solar panels on my house. I agreed to the installation because I…read morewas told that I would reap savings on my utility bill. I have not reap any savings. My utility bill has in fact increased. I have contacted the company by phone on several occasions and have not received a satisfactory response. Finally, I wrote a letter to the CEO, Mary Powell. As of today, which is two weeks later, I have not received any kind of response. If you are considering solar panels and you have a problem, don't count on this company to resolve the issue. I may not have any choice, but to request Sun Run to remove the solar panels from my home. I hope they will be responsive to this review.

I had Sunrun install solar panels on my home in 2016. A few years later, my roof began leaking--but…read moreonly in the area beneath the solar panels and only during heavy rainstorms. Sunrun inspected the roof during a dry period and denied responsibility. I then hired a licensed roofing contractor, who determined that the solar mounting system had been improperly installed. According to the roofer, Sunrun used a tile hook mounting system that is not designed for low-slope roofs like the affected section of my home. The inspection found multiple areas of water intrusion, dry rot, deterioration of the fascia, split rafters caused by lag screws, damage to the low-slope roofing system, and the absence of the required flashing needed for proper waterproofing. The roofer concluded that the damage was the direct result of the solar installation. Sunrun then hired another roofing contractor to provide a second opinion. Surprisingly, that contractor acknowledged that the affected roof section had a single layer of underlayment and a low slope, and stated these conditions should have been identified before any solar installation took place. He explained that the mounting system used was not appropriate for this type of roof and that a qualified solar installer should have advised me of these issues before making any roof penetrations. He also noted that the split rafters could have been avoided by properly drilling pilot holes. Even the Sunrun inspector who visited my home told me he would not have recommended installing solar panels on this section of the roof because of its construction. I wish someone had told me that in 2016. I would have repaired the roof first or chosen not to install panels on that section. In fact, I now recall that the original Sunrun consultant seemed hesitant about installing panels there, but never explained why or advised me that corrections were needed before installation. Sunrun's own warranty states that it is responsible for assessing the existing roof before installation, notifying the homeowner of deficiencies, and covering leaks caused by its roof penetrations. Despite this, Sunrun has refused to contribute toward repairing the roof or covering the cost of removing and reinstalling the solar panels so the roof can be repaired. The portions of my roof that were never touched by Sunrun remain solid and leak-free. Unfortunately, the roof area beneath the solar installation has suffered significant damage, and the cost of repairs has erased any financial benefit I hoped to gain from going solar. I've also lost time from work dealing with this situation. I wanted to enjoy the benefits of solar energy with confidence that my roof was protected. Instead, I've been left with expensive repairs and a company that has refused to stand behind its installation. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Sunrun.
