I'm about 5 years in now and they have voided my warranty and I still have problems with the installation. Too bad there isn't a 0 star rating. I was lied to from beginning to end. I was told I would pay about $45 - $50 every month after the install was complete. The summer months would create a credit that would be applied to the winter months when there was not as much sun. The sales representative said he would come back after installation to make sure we were happy and to contact him with any questions. $30,000 later, I get a $250+ bill during the winter months. I sometimes have 1 maybe 2 months where I don't get a bill (somewhere between May and July). I never heard from the salesman again. When trying to contact him, no answer and he never returned my calls. This company is very, very shady. Installation was completed in October. We didn't go online until next March. They blamed the city and at the time, I laughed it off as that might be the case. Now I question if it was the case at all. I have a continual issue where at times, 1 of the panels does not produce anything during that day. This happens about once or twice a month. I called Fluent Solar on this multiple times (like over 10 times and probably closer to 20) they sent someone out 2 or 3 times. Each time they came out it was working that day so they said there was nothing they could do. I finally told them, look, this is your problem, replace the whole system, I don't care. Just fix it. They never did fix it. I still have the problem. We had bad hail a couple of years ago and had the roof replaced last year. Fluent Solar wanted to charge us over $3,000 to remove and replace the solar panels. The roofing company told us we were being ripped off and they had a company that could do it for $800. I called Fluent Solar and told them we were going to have the other company do the remove/reattach. They told us they would void the warranty if we did that. I went with the $800 company. Needless to say, we have no warranty with them anymore which doesn't really matter as they didn't do anything in the first place. I thought about suing them but they would probably come up with some fine print or some other excuse on why they are the "perfect" company. Companies like this shouldn't be in business. Do yourself a favor and go with another company. You don't need the nightmares they are going to create for you. read more

Fluent representatives lied about the process. when directly asked about fees and costs to cancellation we were told and given examples of other customers that cancelled without a cost or issues. We were told that we could cancel anytime before materials were delivered with no cost to us. The representative lied to us about the tax credit and how it worked. So, we chose to cancel well before material delivery. Now almost 6 months later, they are trying to charge us a cancellation fee. Have had over a dozen email chains, phone calls, even texts trying to resolve multiple problems since we first signed the paperwork and 9 months later still no resolution, and over $300 out of pocket expenses on top of the solar panels trying to fix problems that arose. Only get a star because the initial contact person Skyler B. would respond to some of my messages and try to get my project manager to do Anything (supposedly Monte K not that I have Ever had any kind of contact with him). Sales team used deception to lure us in and then obstruction to make the installation and presumably years of maintenance near to impossible. For example: they promised the first payment would not be due until 90 days after the panels went on the roof. Insinuating that the panels would be working for 90 days before the first payment was due. What they failed to mention was the inspection process once the panels are on the roof could take months in and of itself. Something they would clearly know. The other insane deception they pulled was to under sell us on actual solar panels. The panels they sold us do not ever perform better than 70% of the wattage promised under ideal sun conditions. It turns out that this is common with these panels. None of them perform at full capacity. A 400 watt panel will get you 300ish Max. Therefore you need almost twice as many panels to actually produce the wattage target for your home. They know this and failed to adjust the number of panels for it. Want an itemized receipt? Forget it. They sold us a package that included a bunch of things we did not want or need and then when they had gotten our MPU electrical panel requirements wrong on their inspection they wanted to add that additional charge to our massively over priced bill. Instead, through much cajoling and unpleasantness with the sales team, I got them to switch that charge out for one of the services we did not want in the first place; the attic package. I eventually had to go through the Better Business Bureau to get them to explain why the other portions of the unwanted oversold package weren't being honored. In their BBB response they had to nerve to say they paid more than they charged me by ~$250. Really?! Show us an itemized receipt where our SIXTY THOUSAND DOLLARS ($80K with financing) went and I'll believe you are out $250! They made at least $40K; as the cost of equipment and labor can be estimated at $20K or less even including almost $7K cost for the new MPU. The install team is the only bright light at this company. Although they left trash and tools behind, they did a competent and effective job on the actual install. I hope they all find new jobs when the Feds shut down Fluent Solar and throw the book at the Team of Liars that is Fluent's Sales and presumably any of the Executives who encourage these deceptions. Lemon Laws should be enforced on Fluent nation wide. I know we cannot be the only ones deceived in this manner! read more

I am so so so disappointed. I was torn between Fluent and another company and mistakenly went with Fluent. the price they quoted was the same as he other company but without the battery backup. A friend had used Fluent and was in the process of their install so I chose them. I signed my contract in July and come October there had been no movement in anyway. I began calling multiple times a week and essentially doing Fluent's job in the sense of contacting the companies they were contracting out to and pushing to get things accomplished. Here it is the end of December and the install that was supposed to have been done, offsetting rising electric cost, is not completed. I am currently waiting for inspections that should be as simple as a couple local people coming out. I have nothing good to say at this point other than maybe it's close to being over. We signed our agreement w/Fluent Jan 2021, and were told this whole process would only take about 90 days. We are now approaching a year and still nothing. Not only do we find ourselves having to call Fluent about once a week or every couple of weeks, we make no progress and discover that nothing is being done on their end. Twice we've been told that "the person who handled this part of XYZ of this process quit or went back to school or you name it, so it was never done". Obviously these sorts of responses are not pleasing and continue to push progress behind. When we called about a month and a half ago, after they failed the inspection twice, and damaged a roof beam, they stated that they were now waiting on TECO, our electric company. When we called sometime after, again we were told they were waiting on TECO. When I called TECO a few days ago, they stated that Fluent never even submitted anything and if they had, they could simply provide the enrollment number. When I called Fluent support, literally minutes after that call, there was no enrollment number because, as I was told me "the girl who did it left and there was no way of tracking that." Again, their systems didn't catch this, their processes failed, and here we are. Understand our frustration and regret w/choosing an out of state company to do this for us. I can list a ton of other "promises" given by the salesman who sold us on Fluent, but that will be for a later date. In the meantime, ANY ASSISTANCE in moving this along properly and in line with what TECO requires, is greatly appreciated. read more

Fluent is a company I would not recommend. From the beginning of the installation until well after the system was turned on, this company has been terrible. They have trouble communicating with myself (the homeowner), their own company, internally, and with their subcontractors. I had to take time off work several times for installations that I was told were scheduled only to have nobody show as the electricians were never informed. The company took well over 6 months to complete the install, causing us to lose out on the prime months of sunshine. Our payments started before the system was even turned on. The contractors used vulgar language around our children, smoked, then put their cigarettes out on our patio, and left a mess of materials on several occasions. While electricity was shut off over a period of 12 hours, (supposed to be 3-4) we asked about a timeline, to which the "electrician" replied, "I don't know, I'm not a licensed electrician." The job was still unfinished after 12 hours and they had to return several weeks later. They restored power through shortcuts but left our house unsafe during this time as improper breakers were used. Fluent moves their crews around from state to state, so if your house gets paused, prepare to wait until they get back into town. They will also expect you to do their leg work. We frequently had to make calls to Xcel, envision, fluent, the contractors, their parent company, or the city to get anything to happen. If not for our diligence, we might not have gotten our system working as soon as we did. They had inspections done via facetime, which they failed to pass several times, due to their shoddy work and shortcuts. When trying to get money that was owed to us upon completion, the company would frequently place us on hold for extended periods to then tell us someone would get back to us. No calls would come, we could call back and repeat the process. After several months, we were finally able to get a hold of someone to help, only to be belittled. We were frequently told "it was being handled by someone higher up." Fluent offered what they believed to be the bare minimum. They do not have quality customer service. They do not understand the systems they install. They do not understand how the Tax Credits work. When they tell you that you can get up to 26% of the System reimbursed through tax credit. Do not believe them. This is only against tax liability and be prepared to figure out ways to get that money to your loan provider as your monthly payment will increase otherwise. Our tax advisor informed us that no one gets anywhere close to that money back, and if they do it is over a period of several years. So if you want to go Solar, better energy for your family does not start here. Find anyone else. read more

If I could give 0 stars, I would. Fluent Solar has failed to install solar at my residence after signing a contract one year ago. In May 2022, I signed a contract with Fluent Solar to install solar in my residence. As part of the package, Fluent connected me with their third-party lending institution. I successfully secured the loan, and in June, approved the first disbursement of funding--at Fluent's request and even though nothing had been done. In early August, Fluent installed the panels on my roof and some electrical work was done by a third party. The electrician advised, at the time, they would return later to finish the electrical work. That was the last communication I had with anyone about my installation until September 28th, when I emailed Fluent employees Kate, Nicole, and Gabrielle for a status update. I received no response and again asked for an update on October 18th. For the next several months, I exchanged numerous emails and texts with different people at Fluent. Many of my inquiries went unanswered, and all of Fluent's responses included nothing but false promises. Now, just shy of one year, I am still without an operating solar system! The icing on the cake? Fluent recently informed me that my funding at 1.49% interest is no longer available. Should that be correct, I will be required to apply for new financing with another institution at 3.99% interest rate, adding $10,000 to the loan. Gavin at Fluent explained, "I understand your frustration, with that being said it is not our job to secure your funding. Our job is to get you installed and saving money each month with the solar panels, not to get you funding for the solar panels. That is your responsibility being the customer." Next course of action is legal. Read reviews and you will see that if there is a problem during installation, you can plan on being screwed. Do not fall for the same trap we did! Stay far away from this scam! Sales guy was great and sold us on a bunch of pipe dream/service we are not getting (if it sounds too good to be true, it usually is). Once we signed the agreement for the solar panels it has been nothing but a nightmare. It took moths for the solar panels to arrive. Once they did, they were installed very quickly and efficiently. However, once installed it took even longer to get the power company to approve and for Fluent to pass the inspection. While waiting to pass inspection & for the system to become live, Fluent started the clock on our loan for the system (so we were/are paying for a service that we are not getting yet). Fluent said this was no problem and they would reimburse us for any payment made to the loan for the panel until the system goes live and starts producing wattage.... THIS WAS 4 MONTHS AGO & still yet to see any check for the reimbursement payments. The worst and most frustrating part of this is that we have been told by Fluent 3 different times that the reimbursement checks have been sent out (months ago). Clearly this has been a lie every time. To top it all off, we finally passed inspection and our system went "live" 2 weeks ago....however, they did not send a tech to get the system on, instead you have to do it yourself and hope you did it right.... So our system is not producing any wattage, called customer service and they said our system appears to be in idle mode and a tech would call us to trouble shoot and get it "live". All was well in the beginning. Install happened in a timely manner & service was great. Until we had our most recent issue with panels not working. It has now been a year of trying to get our panels fixed, and we still have 1 panel not working & 2 barely working. We had someone come out to troubleshoot the issue & since then, we have just been getting the run around. One email we received said that our panels are old (we got the system in spring 2016) and outdated so they are trying to figure out what to do. That was 1 month ago & the last communication from anyone. Several phone calls have been made, and even more emails have been sent in the last year. It's impossible to get our person that's supposed to be helping us on the phone & promises of a return email with updated info are not happening. We paid ALOT of money for our 26 panels that supposedly have a 25-year warranty, and I'm feeling like Fluent only cares about that money we pd & not keeping customers happy. I want this issue resolved & my investment working at full capacity ASAP!!! At this point, I would not recommend Fluent due to their lack of customer service. read more

I reside in TX and was approached by Lez Hastings while outside my home. He was very cordial in the beginning and even came back the same day to do a pitch which went very well as I was quoted 18 panels. I then contacted the city to get a general understanding as to how many panels would be allowed on my home and they told me 18 was too many. I read online how people were getting approved for the loan before getting the city to approve the design this being stuck with over inflated payments. I contacted Lez and asked if I could request a design revision because of what I was told by the city. Lez immediately got defensive, aggressive and abrasive asking "what's her position" and "she doesn't sound like she knows what she is talking about". As if I would simply take his word over the city. Then he goes on a rant lying about how they don't over quote or run the loan before the city approved it when they ran a background check for the loan BEFORE he left my home during the pitch. He doesn't even have a believable social media. Seems staged and fraudulent. Stay away from this company. I'm so glad I caught this before moving forward. read more

I usually don't write reveiws, but had such a great experience, thought I should share. I recently bought a house in Cinncinnati and was looking for ways to improve the value and do some updates. I have been wanting to do solar for a long time so was happy to find out about Fluent. I worked with Ryan who was very easy to talk to and knowledgeable about installation and how the whole system worked. It was easy to get the plan in place and then the installation was quick, painless, and has been working awesome! I couldn't be happier about the experience and tell everyone I know to do the switch! I'm awaiting a response, and willing to improve this rating based on when and how they respond. The initial sales/loan/etc process went smoothly. If I had written a review then, it would have been more positive. about 2 to 3 months after installation, a crew showed up to fix the system. The crew working that day said something about a pinched wire and that our system was only producing "less than half" of what it was supposed to be producing. After that, the production of kWh was much higher (at least as far as I can see in the solar system dashboard. However, something is happening between the house and the electric company, because they consistently show they are only receiving a small fraction of the kWh the solar system dashboard says we are producing and sending on to the electric company. I have kept the sales contact in the loop and specifically emailed him almost a month ago to follow up. He has not responded. I just emailed him again, along with the solar support email. At this point, I have been paying large electric bills and our solar loan bill both - for months. If this is not resolved soon, we will be in a financial hardship position. We have already paid about $1,000 more than we expected to pay this year. read more
