DO NOT BUY TIRES FROM GOODYEAR IN VINELAND. The Store Manager WILL NOT stand behind his tires. I'm not sure if it's because he's too lazy to make the calls and do the paperwork, or if there is some financial loss to him personally. I had a set of Goodyear Triple Treads rated for 80k that I bought in this store in June of 2015. They were on my wife's car. At about 33k I noticed the tires were FAILING. The tread blocks in the centers as well as on the sides were coming apart. Literally chunks were coming off. These tires were unsafe for my family and potentially anybody else involved if one were to fail. So, I brought the car in for the tires to be inspected, prorated and replaced. A sales associate said he needed to check them and went outside to take a look. He came back in to get help from the STORE Manager, RICHARD DUFRESNE. (see Rich, I didn't spell it wrong) The two of them then went outside to look at the tires. Rich did a quick lap around the car rubbing his hand across the tires, taking a quick look at the front two and almost without stopping came right back inside. After a short conference at the counter I was called over and was informed I had a mechanical failure causing the tread blocks on ALL 4 TIRES TO COME APART. I challenged this assessment and insisted the car be put up and inspected and the alignment checked. Thirty minutes later he came back and now the cause was, "aggressive driving and hard cornering!!" I knew this was nonsense, so I asked him how many mechanical failures he found. He replied none. I asked him how far out of alignment it was, and he said, "it wasn't" He changed his story, because the car checked out and was MECHANICALLY SOUND. Now he's insulting my wife's driving habits to support his ridiculous excuses. When I asked for his name he said it's on the paperwork, which it wasn't. When I told him it wasn't he said sarcastically, "Let me get you my card, "SO YOU DON'T SPELL IT WRONG." Really?! I couldn't believe what I was hearing. So realizing he had ZERO interest in helping me or concern for my family's safety I asked for the number for Goodyears customer service, which he gave me. When I did contact Corporate I spoke with Kim, and she was GREAT. She was very disappointed to hear this behavior was coming from the manager at a CORPORATE STORE. She was very apologetic and scheduled an appointment for another store to inspect the tires while I was on the phone. Clearly, unlike Mr Dufresne she understood the potential liability for Goodyear if one of these tires should fail and somebody to get injured or worse. As it turns out, she sent me to 2 other locations. It was unintentional, there was a mix up in communications with the first Goodyear store. She was expecting them to get me into some new tires on the spot. Anyway, BOTH Goodyear stores declared the tires DEFECTIVE. At this point Kim at Goodyear authorized payment for the tires to be prorated and replaced immediately. Goodyear stood behind their tires, but their lazy, uncaring manager in the Vineland store wouldn't. So, if you expect to have this store stand behind their tires mileage warranties don't, they won't. read more
