We needed new tires badly for our car (to the point of having a blow out). With the pandemic going on finances were tight and we couldn't afford to spend money but the tires were a MUST. At first I was planning to go through Costco or Sam's Club for prices but we had to order the tires first and then book. It would take about a week. Keep in mind the tires and size I needed were not specialty ones, they were just not in stock. I ended up going w/ Goodyear. It cost a little more but they were only ones who could accommodate short notice and the Salt Lake location was the only ones I could book on a Sunday so I placed the order online. The order was placed on Friday. When I first got there, Chris who was at the counter assisted me. I found out they didn't even have my tires and the crappy part, the online booking services doesn't communicate w/ the locations so he had no idea I was getting the size I needed until the day of. He researched and even though they didn't have what I originally wanted, the warehouse did had a set but cost a little more. Because of the inconvenience he was able to offer them to me at a better price. Because it was too late for tire deliveries he booked the appointment for the next day. It doesn't stop there. Monday came and he found out the warehouse was closed because of Memorial Day (ironically this will be a memorable moment for me)! Because the locations were opened he thought the warehouse would be too but that wasn't the case. Before giving me the news he researched first and when he found the size I needed and available today he shared what happened. The bad news was that no one had the tires he ordered. But the best news was not only was he able to find the tires I needed at another location on O'ahu but just so happened it was way better than the ones he ordered from the warehouse and I wouldn't have to pay a penny more! Huge shout out and mahalo to Chris and the team at the Stadium Mall location for going over and beyond! Chris took really good care and have exceeded my expectations!! read more

I had an appointment at 10am for four new tires that wasn't completed until roughly 2 pm. I Wasn't bothered really with the 4 hour wait because I left to eat and run an errand. My three main complaints about my experience coming to this Goodyear is they broke my rim cap by over tightening it, they didn't bother to put the appropriate tire pressure, and my steering wheel shakes when I drive. Did they even balance my tires correctly? When I received my car the low air pressure sensor light turned on instantly. 3 tires had 22psi and the front passenger tire had 45psi. I came in for a basic tire change and in the 4 hours it took them to do so I still had to put air in my own tires before heading home, i have to buy a new cap, and my steering wheel shakes . Don't bother coming to this establishment if you want to leave with more problems than you came into the store with. read more

I took my truck here after getting no service from the Goodyear where I bought the new tires I had on my truck. I figured that since the Kaimuki location was low on staff it was a reflection on poor and rushed service. I explained that I had a funny burning carpet smell coming from my tire area and I needed it looked at. The first thing I was told was that this was going to be a charge for a diagnosis and since I was stuck with a truck that wasn't running right I said I guess I gotta even though all I wanted them to do was check my tire and how i was installed. I knew it wasn't coming from the engine. Hours later I got a surprising call telling me that they couldn't find anything with the tire and they "think" its the shocks or struts. They made a recommendation to replace those and something else and it would be about $1200. I asked if they were sure it would fix my issue and they didn't sound that sure replying "we'll start there". What? After I left my car there for three hours? I went to pick my car up knowing that this wasn't feeling right and was charged $115 bucks for a diagnosis of "we'll start there". My car got so bad the next day I had to pull it over and park it and have it towed to a real mechanic who diagnosed that I needed to change my brakes out and that the burning was medal on medal. Why the hell did I pay that money for a diagnosis that told me nothing and that wasn't the problem? Goodyear claims to be brakes experts but they couldn't tell it was my brakes? The auto mechanic figure it out in less than 20 minutes. If you need new tires I guess you can buy them here pretty safely. Don't rely on them for brakes unless I guess you know you need them but shouldn't they? Charging someone for something you are not sure of is pretty dirty in my book. I'm not going back here. Think I'll use Costco for tires and go to a real mechanic for everything else. read more

I was needing help with mounting my front license plate since I am front the mainland where front plate is not required. I just got in the island and I don't have tools. I bought my plate and inspection holders. The safety inspection holder was easy to install. However, my front license plate holder needed to be drilled in. It was on a Sunday and the place that is close to my location was goodyear. Thankfully they were open. I walked in and got greeted. The staff were very courteous. I told them what I need work on. And the manager I think or supervisor went out to check on the work that needs to be done so he could give me a proper quote. He went to grab some screw and drill bit and quickly did the work for me. I asked him how much. He said not to worry. He didn't charge me. I know it was an easy and what I really like about this place is the willingness to help out and the courage not to take advantage a customer. Because frankly, if it was some other shop, I would have been taken advantage of. Great service, great staff gets five stars. read more

Decided to go here for its convenience and that was a big mistake. First I tried to schedule an appointment for my safety check a few days prior and the cashier told me they don't do appointment and it's a first come first serve. I said thank you and decided to just go back on my day off. I arrived at Goodyear around 9 am (they are open 7am to 7pm probably best to go right when they are open) and they said it will be done at 5 pm. Got it safety checks isn't as important as other things they do but wow really? So since I was already there I said okay, hoping they are just saying 5 pm but probably will be done sooner. I just called them around 2pm and asked if they seen my car yet. Answer was no and don't worry when we are done we will call you, you don't have to call again. I can't say much for their other services but don't go here for a safety check unless you are okay wasting the day away waiting. I think it would have probably been best if they told me we can't do you safety check because we are too busy today, maybe try a different place. Frustrated I decided to leave a yelp review. Bought my tires online with Goodyear and got a great deal. Set up my appointment and prepared to get new tires put on my black wheels, I called ahead to make sure they had black wheel weights and found out they didn't. Kind of odd being that almost every manufacturer today puts out black wheels and I'm sure I'm not the only one who doesn't want silver stick on weights on my black wheels. So strike one for them that I had to buy wheel weights for myself. I arrived on time and they took me right away which was great, they did the job fast and efficiently and that was great. Now here is the other strike, because I was taking my tires and they charged me the disposal fee online the wouldn't refund it there! You'd think it's all good year but NO , so again more money lost and it really wasn't enough to make it a super big deal but it's annoying. Overall if the price was right I would once again do the same thing but try and get the price changed up front knowing what I know now. read more

On 11/05/2019 I went into Goodyear to get my car serviced for an Oil Change and Safety check. As I pulled my car after it was finished I heard scrapping underneath my car. Not only the workers admitted damaging my car while being service, they also didn't securely screw the under carriage underneath my car. I paid over $100-$120 just to get only told they saw nothing and that there was nothing wrong with the car. I was told to call customer service for the service and I did. I just called Customer service and was put on hold for an hour before I left a message with my number. I haven't gotten a call back from them for two weeks. I've been taking my car here for about 7 years now and have never had an issue. Normally get my services done here but have had a brake job and got new tires from here as well. The prices are decent and comparable to other shops. This is a franchise so I always like to look online for any coupons, something is better than nothing. The guys have always been helpful and have stuck to any time frame I was given. I also like how they let me know if I can do things on my own so they don't have to charge me for them to do it. Also, free brake checks. I also found out that if your tire is low on air, you can stop in and they can check it and fill it up for free. Might have to be patient if they are busy. read more

We were on vacation from California and our rental van had a flat tire. So, I took the van to Goodyear Auto Service which was closest to the Pearl Harbor Naval Station, which was where we were at shopping at the NEX store. This auto service is by far the best I have ever been to. It was the only one that would fix the flat tire on the same day, without an appointment, because I didn't want to drive around on the spare tire. Francis made feel like a friend and not just a customer. He has excellent customer service. I knew in the back of mind that I would have to buy a new tire out of pocket, because basically the rental company would not pay for it. The lady at the counter (didn't get her name) also was so helpful and understanding that the van was a rental, so she gave me a 10% discount, didn't charge for the warranty, disposal fee, etc. which brought down the price to about $185 total. She was awesome! She also told me that I they fixed the left rear tire which had a screw in it, but since it didn't penetrate the tire wall, she wouldn't charge me for it. They also checked all the tires pressure and also checked the alignment. Wow, now that is five star service right there. I would totally recommend this auto service to anyone. Great place if you need to get an oil change. If you bring your own oil it's under $30. Worst place for safety check. I did an online appointment and when I arrived the guy said "We don't do appointments. Someone should've called you." What a disappointment. Realized I had a flat tire and Goodyear was closest per Yelp. They estimated that it would take about 1.5 hours since there were quite a few jobs in front of me, but after getting a bite to eat and coming back to wait in their waiting room (about 40 minutes total), they asked me to come up to the desk. Basically, my tires were too worn to be able to safely patch the hole. I already knew that my tires needed to be replaced, so this wasn't a surprise, and I appreciated that they were keeping my safety in mind. The salesman, Chris, gave me some estimates for replacement, but I wasn't ready to make such a large purchase on the fly like that. He offered for them to put my spare on for now, just to get me home. I really appreciated the no-pressure approach, and they didn't even charge to change out the spare. :) read more

NEVER come here. I came in to get a new set of tires. In the process, they damaged my brake lines to a point where they were leaking and then told me my vehicle was safe to operate. I took it out and barely made it across the street with almost no brakes. I checked and brake fluid was gushing out of the line. I took it back and they refused to admit fault and even charged me $150 to cut the line and put a $5 brass fitting on. Never trust this place with your vehicle. Dx: ABS sensor needs to be replaced $221.05. Traction Control Light, unknown but the Tech said once I replace my ABS sensor the traction control light should be fixed. I guess you could say I'm happy one thing I do want to point out is when they park my car in the lower parking lot of the Sadium Mall they left my car unlocked that doesn't make me very happy. With that said overall experience they get my five stars! I'm sure I'm overpaying to have the ABS sensor replaced but given convenience I'm not going to argue I would recommend this Goodyear location to friends and family! read more

I have no idea what the other yelpers are talking about! I have been coming to this Goodyear for decades. I would bring my car here when I was in high school and in college whenever I needed a safety check or something went wrong with my tires. It had been a year or two since I've gone here so this year when it was time for me to get my safety check, I decided to stop in. . The guy behind the counter (Brent or something?) wasn't very friendly. No smile. No "hello". I said that I needed a safety check. He said it would be an hour. I didn't have anything to do so I sat and waited. It took about 50 minutes. I noticed that there weren't very many cars being serviced so I'm not sure why it took so long. I've been to other places where safety checks take about 10-15 minutes. The guy that checked me in sat behind the corner and ate some sort of snack while I sat next to the TV and the empty coffee pot and waited. Will I come here again? Probably not. I'm not sure if there was a change of ownership over the last couple years but this place just wasn't like it used to be. I know this is an auto service center and not some 5 star restaurant but how about some customer service or Aloha? read more

Too bad you can't do NEGATIVE stars. Made an appointment ONLINE for an oil change, and in the body of the comment section, added that sometimes my car made a "squeaking noise when the wheels start turning, but not ALL THE TIME, JUST RANDOM. I get there about a half hour before my appointment, for the guy at the front counter to give me an attitude (and the look) like why the hell am I here. Just didn't like the tone.. So I TELL him the reason, wondering why he didn't see the comments I wasted my time typing up when I made the appointment. He flings out his flyer of different oils on to the counter and says "which one?" To my surprise, he actually recommends the middle, not the pricier one,and say the tire rotation is free with a 29 point inspection. Ok. Fine. I leave the counter after a quote of under 60 bucks. Whatever. After waiting and killing 5 hours of time via foot, and NO phone call, I decide to walk back to check for an update. I walk in and ask if the car is ready, to which this fool says, "YOU NEVER called us back!" Ummm HELLUR! I NEVER got a phone call. Who cares if I have a long distance phone number! So now he adds that I need new brake pads and a flush...total cost..close to six HUNDRED effing dollars. Oh AND he said the battery I bought about 5 months ago from somewhere else, failed. So now I have yet another service company bullshitting me? Wtf? So all that money later, he says the car is up front, with the keys in it. I walk out the front door, and it's parked almost inside the bay. F?$k me. All that money and they can't even frikken drive the car out? I'm so pissed, I walk back in and in a bitchy tone, I say "um with spending all that money here, the LEAST you guys could do is bring my car out! So I go home with steam coming out of my head, not even looking at the paperwork to see if they really "did" anything.
