I went today for another screw in my tire, or so I thought. I was greeted by a really nice lady named Tiffany and then received a call a few hours later from Jesus. Jesus told me that the piece of metal in my tire was so small that it didn't break through into the tire and that they tested it, it's fine, and there's no charge. Any other shop would have told me they needed to fix it and charged me anyway. Really trustworthy people. Thank you. read more

Went in for an alignment and tire rotation which was my biggest concern. Wanted to stick to having my tires rotated every 6k miles to avoid any of the uneven wear problem I had with my last set. Waited nearly 4 hours and what'd I get? The alignment but no rotation. Their excuse? "OH, there's nothing wrong with your tires. There's no wear, so no need to do a rotation" WTF!?? I told the guy, why didn't you even come and ask me? Call me... anything!??? I was right there at their shop and nothing. "it was a judgment call" he said. I spent over an half an hour on the phone with the manager to order tires and when I got to the shop the next day he ordered the wrong size after I repeated it 5 times over the phone. How incompetent can you be to order the wrong size and have the nerve to put it on my car and not notice it is the wrong size! They wasted my entire day never returning here. A nail punctured my tire during the Saturday of Labor Day weekend. I called Goodyear at 4:10pm that same day hoping, but not expecting, that they might be able to fix my tire before they closed at 5pm. I've gone to Commack and other ones in my area and they always try and overcharge you and throw in extra things that are not needed. If you ever need your car worked on, or need new tires. If you care anything about your money, then dont go here. They are a bunch of con artists. The two times that I have been here they have made up problems that my car did not have. I am a certified mechanic, but no longer have time to work on my car. They will purposely put a nail in your tire, just so they can charge your $40 to put a patch on it. They charge about $160 for a wheel alignment which only costs half of this any where else. They then become pushy if you dont take their road hazard warranty. After the damage was done, I paid $500 for the most cheapest two tires installed. Do yourself a favor and go down the block to Pep Boys. I will never go here again. Watch out for the service manager too, he will make you believe that your car has soo many problems. I've been going to the Goodyear Auto Service in Hempstead, NY for at least 5 years, today I had an experience that will stop me from ever using any Goodyear store again. On my lunch break today the tire pressure went down to 23 and kept going down as I was driving. Took it to Goodyear to get the tire checked out, and was told my the person at the front desk that there was a nail in the tire and the tire had to be replaced. Since the tire no longer had hazard protection it would cost me $351 to replace my tire for my 2014 Grand Cherokee, I asked why so much he said I had a 20" tire. He also said the other tire in the back had to be replaced, but no worries since this would not be full price since it was under warranty. As I was walking back to work he called to say the 2nd tire was not under warranty, so that would be $752 for two tires. When I returned to work, I went on the Goodyear website and the 20" tire Goodyear Forterea HL was $228, I called him to ask why there was a difference. Of course, he was shocked and agreed to honor the website price, I don't know what he was trying to pull but business should not be run this way. Actually I was there last month for an oil change, and the mechanic told me I need a new battery when I had just gotten a new battery from Pep boys the month before. So I guess I'm saying don't go the Goodyear in Hempstead, NY because they will try to steal your hard earned money. Buyer beware, and verify what they say. I saved myself over $200, but who knows since he could have lied about the tires having to be changed. read more

Service was prompt... About 45 minutes for an oil change and tire rotation. Techs were friendly, but I had to knock off two stars for the typical attempted "upsell.." I came in with an appointment and online deal for $33, and the tech came with a dirty cabin air filter, and recommended it be replaced. He said the windshield wipers are not streaking, but "they're looking worn," and he recommended a fuel system cleaning on a brand new car with only 17,000 miles. Total estimated price for the "add-ons..." $120. I politely said "I'd like to stick with the service I came in for, please," and thankfully he did not attempt to push anything more. Make sure you know what you want when you come, check online for special prices, and resist the sales tactics. Finally, the tech said they did not perform the tire rotation that I requested (and was promised for free via The promotional deal on their website) because the tires were worn evenly and "did not need rotated." I don't know if this is a legitimate answer but I would have preferred they be rotated if that was the service I requested. I'll ask my car-savvy friends if rotation is a requirement every 15,000 miles or only if wear begins to occur unevenly. Overall, quick, pleasant experience.. Just be savvy when you go in. read more

The GoodYear franchise is 2 for 2 in my book which means they are batting 1000. I say this because back in February 2014 my car was one of the many victims to a grenade (pot hole). I shredded a tire and damaged another the day before our last big blizzard. I decided to take my car to the GoodYear in Clark NJ and they took care of both me and my brand new Accord EXL with quality Customer Service. Fast forward to the last weekend of the year 2014 and I hit another grenade. This time it occurred in Long Island so I took it to GOODYEAR at 101 N Franklin St Hempstead NY 11550 and they went above and beyond to accommodate me. They did a full inspection and showed me what needed to be replaced or repaired. I ended up getting 2 tires at a discounted price and for a nominal fee they also threw in warranty for all 4 tires. I am glad I found this location through Yelp. They are only 15 min away from my home and I can rely on them for more than just tires or an oil job because they are an auto repair shop. read more

I went to the shop to change on four of my tires. The manager was very customer friendly. He was able beat the price that was quoted from Mavis Discount Tire store. He assured me that the store was properly sanitized every two hours. My tires were replaced while I waited. The store waiting area was large. They also had wifi and personalized cell phone charging area. I am pleased with the customer care and service at this store. I will recommend this store to anyone who needs auto service. read more

I had a fair experience with this place. I made an appointment at the last minute to have the oil in my Honda Civic changed. I also arranged to have the tires rotated and the wheels aligned, for free. When I arrived, I was checked-in and the work started within 20 minutes. The customer service guys were very nice but the mechanics never spoke to me, which I found to be unpleasant. They were able to change the oil but there was an issue with the elbow joints on the tires. They told me they had been severely worn out and needed to be changed ASAP. They wanted to charge me almost $700 in parts and labor to fix it. On top of that, they claimed they couldn't rotate my tires because the last person who serviced them had jammed the screw into the rim of a front tire, so the tire was essentially stuck. The customer service rep gave me a run-down of the costs and services that would need to be done just to rotate the tire, a service that was originally FREE. In addition, he mentioned I needed a new air filter (when did that become apart of an oil change?). I did not believe him at all, everything seemed very sketchy so I declined. I really did not like the fact that the service rep was explaining this to me. I would have appreciated if the mechanic took the time to tell me exactly what needs to be done and why. The mechanic would walk away as soon as I came out to discuss my car. When I asked another rep whether it was safe to drive my car, he called the rep I was working with to answer my question but he could barely tell me anything. Lo and behold, I go to a local repair man who inspected the elbow joint issue and confirmed that it was worn out. Not only was he able to repair the elbow joint for cheaper (about $500 less) but he ALSO rotated and aligned my tires. There was absolutely no issue with the screws in the tire. I don't know if the people at this location are just lacking sufficient knowledge or trying to discriminate because I am a woman, but whatever it is, I won't be returning and I would not recommend it to anyone. read more

I checked the interweb for several days looking for the best deal on 5 tires for my Wrangler. I opted going with the guys at the Hempstead/North Franklin location and I'm so glad I did. They did a GREAT job. I am extremely satisfied with the service I received. I was keeping my other tires and rims and without asking they wrapped them each in separate plastic for me and when I picked up my Jeep they were all loaded neatly inside. Picked up a nail somewhere on the road. Went into Goodyear Auto service center in Hempstead and saw Elio (David) Barzola. Told him I bought the protection plan when I bought my tires there not to long ago, from him no less. He pulled it right up and got my car in and out and the even rotated my tires all for free.
