This GoodWill store has been at this location for many many years. I have been to it more times than I can count. Staff is always helpful and friendly. The store is kept quite orderly for a resale thrift store. I have one maybe not a huge complaint but more of an annoyance. Where are the bags? I mean come on after checking out it would be nice to receive my items in a bag. I don't wanna purchase one of yours or bring my own. My friend walked out with a bunch of clothes loose in her arms. West Bend, WI Goodwill White rocking chair fiasco 8/24/21 "I shopped at the West Bend, WI store today with a friend I was visiting. I am from IL, she is from WI. I found a large white whicker rocking chair at this store that I loved. There were 3 white adult sized rocking chairs; a smaller one, medium sized and this tall one I decided to purchase. Following the Goodwill's terms of taking the carbon papers describing the chair, its cost, item # & facts of keeping the paper description and leaving the simple tag on the chair, I continued to shop with my friend. At the checkout line, we could see the chair I purchased and we proceeded to the checkout clerk. I paid for the chair & many other items, totaling around $86. I drove around to the back to pick up my chair, no one came back with it after five+ minutes. We drove back around to the front and in pouring rain, I went back in to find out where my chair was. Come to find out, some other clerk sold it to someone else about the same time as me! This other buyer had the receipts for the 2 smaller rockers, but LIED and said he'd dropped the description tag papers on the floor in the store and couldn't find (which was a lie because I had them that I took off the chair myself before this man ever laid eyes on the chairs.) The sales clerk did NOT follow Goodwill's protocol and rule that if the shopper does NOT have the description tag papers, there will be NO SALE! But instead, she sold it to him anyways! No effort was made to page overhead if someone had the receipt to a tall white wicker chair to please come to the checkout counter. Nor was this man prevented from taking an item he did NOT had the sales tag papers for! Sooo, when the employees realized what happened, I was told they would they would refund part of the cost I'd just paid for this rocker, deducting 20% of its sale and giving me a postcard for 20% of my next purchases as this store or another in the Wis. SE region! I am from northern IL! I'm visiting from 3.5 hours south of here! I don't shop Goodwill of Chicago nor the Milwaukee area. And why, when the staff messes up, do I not get an entire refund for the chair cost, + more than 20% off my next shopping at Goodwill in this region?! And why didn't they try to track down this lying cheat who just bought these chairs? I would imagine he used a debit card and they had 2 other sets of papers describing the other 2 white wicker rockers, that he also purchased? I am HIGHLY disgusted with this store and will tell everyone I know how awful they are at following their own protocol and the terrible way they treat their customers. " read more

Goodwill stores used to be pretty good for finding deals and nice items. You can still find some with some major hunting but who has the time to sift through so much junk? They overload here like they now do at a lot of Goodwill stores. The whole place is ugly. Square with I think blue walls and mostly clothes. The store is packed with too much stuff that it is hard to move around. Nothing ever seems interesting here though there are sometimes a ton of people with that spirit of seeking to get a bargain before the next guy. Recently I was curious about what people were buying and when I looked at a painting that someone was interested in they turned it and hid it from my gaze as if I was going to take it from them. Ha. I just moved on. Anyway, I find this place a little depressing and I would suggest finding better places to do your bargain hunting. Left without making a purchase. read more

It's good if you want others old stuff, it's like paying for garbage that's been wiped off. However it does serve a good cause. The decor is of a nursing home and the music is of early light 80's soft rock that makes me want to die in a hole. read more

Watch your purse and purchases. These are thieves. I have had two occasions where I purchased jewelry, got home and found the salesperson did not give them to me. I returned to the store and found the items out for sale again. The manager stated that the cashiers deal with a blur of activity and can't remember what they have sold. Items are assumed to be donations and returned to the sales floor. My granddaughter lost her birthday gift in the store. We searched, two sales people stated that if found by staff, it would be assumed to be a donation and sold. I left a description and contact information with the manager. Either the item has never surfaced (unlikely) or it was sold as I was warned it would be. read more

With any thrift shop stores, it smells weird. However, there's more clothes compared to anything else. There is a lot of glassware. Everything else seems to be junk. I've been there a few times. I've bought clothes there for interviews. read more

They have almost become an embarrassment to our community. This is no longer a thrift store rather a retail store. Anything decent is so overpriced you might as well buy new. I just don't understand how items such as severely used and beat up couches can be marked at $30 when people are giving these things away, not only to thrift stores but on craigslist as well. I shop a lot of thrift stores. This is one of the better ones. Still, prices have gone up over the years. I find a lot of different stuff for house, clothes including for the grandkids. Never know what you will find if you have the time. If you are stressed and need a time out, this is the place to come. I can still find ebay treasures too. Not often though as they look stuff up too. Wool sweaters for crafts. Friendly staff. Worth the trip. read more

The donation center will not help you unload. They are rude and act like it is an inconvenience for them to accept donations.

I went to the West Bend, Wi Goodwill on 8-10-2015 around 4pm and noticed everything including the registers where moved around. The front doors are totally not being watched since they moved the registers to the far west side of the building by the windows. I asked one of the employees who work on the floor why they would have the front doors unwatched. She said she 100% agreed with me that it was a poor choice on the stores part. The employee also said she heard so many complaints about the new layout mine included. I looked around for about a half hour and decided to leave with only two make up bags. I was very frustrated on how unorganized the new lay out was. I talked to the young overweight guy in his 20's with brown hair and a very poorly groomed beard at the registers. I asked this guy why move the registers so far away from the door? He said it doesn't matter if they can see the doors or not. He claimed the Goodwill store managers know who's stealing because they have devices all over the store. He said they have cameras and little devices in other areas so if people would run out the door with items they would know who they are. I said to the guy a unwatched door is unsafe for the shoppers and employees. I told him we had different opinions about this. This rude punk told me take it up with the manager or better yet at the bottom of my receipt I could fill out the survey and complain there. Now why the heck would I complain on a Goodwill survey where nobody will ever see it. If you are looking for rows and rows of glassware, clothes, shoes and outdated electronics this is where you will find them. The items are tossed on the shelves so high a person grabs for one thing and three other things fall to the floor. Its more of a miss at this store than a hit.
