I like this organization and started shopping here due to inflation and wanting to support their mission after hearing a few bad stories about the other resale shop. Social media can definitely influence my decisions. Clothing deals every week and goods seem to move very quickly week to week. I was offered a customer rewards code I normally wouldn't get one but They are building another store near me it was a fast registration. I've enjoyed both visits browsing the old sporting goods housewares and books. St Vincent de Paul - Thrift Stores Near Me - West Bend, Wisconsin

To all these people who seem to think St Vincent de Pauls stores are too expensive. Please keep in mind, these stores are charities, I used to give my items to Goodwill until they started picking through my donations and telling me "we don't take this or that". That was it for me. I have been cleaning out my home to get ready for sale and have taken over six truck loads to them. I found a St Vincent's near me on 108 Street in West Allis where they appreciate anything you donate and I appreciate they are helping people who need help. St Vincent's is out there trying to help people with their proceeds: The proceeds from each of the Thrift Stores go directly to the programs and services that deliver hope and help to people in need. The $50 that you spend in a SVdP Thrift Store can turn into the rent or utility payment that keeps a family warm and in their home. The people at these stores work hard to keep their stores very clean and organized and the price low. Their prices are well below any store prices. This store has always been hit or miss on prices but lately they price things outrageously high. Today I saw fishing combos, not roo of the line some not even a consistent brand and some broken and price ranges were $25-$35. For reference a brand new decent combo runs $30-$50 so they are charging about $20-$25 too much. saving grace staff is usually pleasant. read more

It is unfortunate that prices have gone up at all of the Washington County stores. Many prices do not seem reasonable any longer, they seem ridiculous for a resale shop. Wondering why this is the case? Does this not defeat the purpose of selling donated items often in quantity to benefit the society? read more

If I could give a half star I would. The only good thing about this Vinnies is the look of the store. The prices are high. My main complaint is the employees! I was looking through a plastic bin of plastic bead necklaces and bracelets (already had price stickers) that were on the jewelry counter. The employee came up and said she still needs to put them out and then proceeded to take the basket out from under my hands!!! Mind you this basket was one of those blue organizing baskets, it looked like it was already "set out"! Another thing that just tickled my fancy was they will take up space in an aisle with a cart, you say excuse me to get through and they grunt at you!! Grunting, seriously, wtf?! This is a really nice thrift store with good prices. They also have some new products like you would find at a dollar store for good prices. They do a good job here. Much more pleasant to shop and the local Goodwill which we don't care for. read more

I have to agree with Nancy's review below- the prices are more along the lines of a high-end consignment store, rather than a thrift store. The book prices are nuts- I picked up an Encyclopedia of Medicine from 1989- and the price on it was $12.88! It is the Christmas shopping season, and our St. Vinnie's in Sheboygan has 2 registers open with long lines- because their prices are good. Today at the West Bend St. Vinnies, it was deserted- few people, no lines- I think most likely because it is so expensive. Many of the items could be had for a lower price at Wal-Mart- and Wal-Mart sells it brand new. To say something positive, I will add that everything is very attractively displayed. I felt like I was in a department store, rather than a thrift store. They just need to lower their prices. I realize that their purpose is to help the poor, but if you're not moving your merchandise because your prices are so high, you're not helping anyone. read more

I have been working in West Bend since October. I enjoy shoping consignment, resale and thrift shops. I have patronize them all in West Bend. I appreciate the 1\2 off dot sales at SVDP. I average three trips per week there. First thing this morning, I come to the store and they are still plowing out the parking lot. No problem. I will stop back. My mission is a winter shoe/boot that will be versatile for both of my jobs. Upon entering the store, I notice today is orange dot day. I proceed to the shoes. I find a sturdy brown pair. And, there is an orange dot. I notice a black pair that would be great for my part time job. Again, orange dot. This is fantastic! Normally, I have my SVDP key card ready to go, but I do not need it for 50% off items. The cashier is taking a rather long time inspecting the bottom of the shoes/stickers. She asks for my card. I dig it out. I watch her give me 10% off. She announces my total. I say, "Aren't the orange dot items half off?" She looks again at my shoes and the sign nearly over her head, and begrudgingly gives me half off. I have never swapped a sticker on any item, anywhere in my life. I find your prices to be fair and affordable. The insult that I felt after this experience is enough to prevent me from ever stepping foot in any SVDP. read more

It's no wonder they don't have a big turnover of items here as every time I go it's the same old crap. Their prices are ridiculous. $45+ for a used blanket that I can get at Goodwill for under $10? Sofas for over $100 when I can get it at Goodwill for under $40? Today I saw a basic sterling silver chain for $110...say what?? Seriously, you need to reconsider your pricing and fire whomever is doing it as they are insane. I find it hard to believe the previous reviewer states good prices....save your time and shop at Goodwill, the place where they actually have decent stuff at thrift store prices.
