It's an okay location to look through to see what you can find. Unfortunately, I did not find anything for me but lots of people seemed to. Their prices are higher, they had Nike air max with a $74 price tag. They had a foldie bag that retails for $60 brand new for $50. I'm sure their prices re based on their location. Parking is $2 an hour and you may have to circle a few times to find one. I hit lucky and found one right down the street. Staff didn't seem to greet anyone upon entering. Stuff was very organized. An "upscale" goodwill. Lots of Ann Taylor, Banana Republic, Zara, type of ticket items. Price is reasonable, and half off color tag days still apply. They do continuously spray some essential oil throughout the store. If you are alergic to essential oils or scents, you could die in here. This is meant to be a fancy Goodwill boutique. It kind of is. There are more recognizable brands on the racks. Plenty of housewares. Nice staff. I bought some great yard art there recently. The spot is a great place to hunt for treasures in a clean, smaller store. Right now the Christmas decor has taken over. Every Tuesday the tag color changes to indicate what's on special sale. While I've removed a star for being a bit too expensive for second-hand, I've found a lot of good things here, and the shop has always been well-organized and clean. I am hugely into thrifting. We stumbled upon this location and I was so excited. A goodwill BOUTIQUE?! So cool. It definitely has a more put together feel than a regular goodwill. They honor your goodwill card and coupons though which is nice! What wasn't so great was the prices. They still offer half price colors and such, but their nicer items were out of the park expensive_ $150 for boots, $200 for some designer bags??? I felt like those would be a tough sell. The customer service was a little off too. Some workers seemed a little clueless and I got double charged for my one item that was supposed to be half price. I didn't catch that, but oh well. I think it's worth a look if I'm the area, but not a place for stocking up on clothing! read more

A nice second hand store where you can find some hidden gems. The store is kind of small but can easily accommodate 10 people. The store is clean and well organized. I found two beautiful necklaces and a Jessica Simpson blue jacket. Actually, they had a nice jewelry selection which is where I spent the majority of my time. The prices are more of a "boutique" vibe. The bonus is, this store is affiliated with Goodwill so I was able to use my points here during my purchase and saved $5.00. Three great items for $34.78. I have been shopping here for years. It's a great store and they have really great items but I have one caveat. The price stickers they use are awful. When stuck to glass and other hard items they are difficult to remove even with an adhesive remover. When used on a paper item, that item is ruined; you will not be able to remove the sticker cleanly. I have shopped in other Goodwill stores and this problem does not exist with their stickers- only the Retique stickers. It would be great if Retique would consider upgrading these price stickers. This is a premium, upscale thrift store operated by Goodwill. It's a much smaller store with a more curated assortment of merchandise. It feels more like a consignment shop or small boutique than a Goodwill. I found a great denim skirt from Talbots ($14.99 but green tags were half price), a coral Chico's top ($7.99), and some jewelry (my necklace was $10 and earrings were $4) So, the prices are higher than a normal Goodwill store but I like this place a lot and I'm fine with paying a little more for better quality goodies. read more

Visited Milwaukee from California and this store beats out most of our Goodwill stores in San Diego. Pricing is relative - to the people who are saying it's "expensive" I would agree on the perception of typical Goodwill prices and the area. To me, $14.99 - 24.99 for lululemon, Patagonia, etc seems beyond reasonable and is what prices are in California. Plus they have 50% certain tag colors each week. The "thrill" of thrifting is finding treasures and almost everything is a treasure because it's curated. The thrill then would be finding the designer item that's half off. Goodwills tend to be unorganized and a little dirty depending on the area. This goodwill is the complete opposite. If you resell, you can make money from this store. If you shop for yourself, I walked away with a pair of lulu slacks and three lulu shirts for a total of $44. That same price would get me a 2 pack of underwear at the lulu store down the street. Chic clothing at cheap prices. I scored a nice pair of Calvin Klein pants for $7 at this shop. I also received another 25% off because it was yellow tagged day and an additional discount because I brought my own bag. Awesome deal! This store is actually a Goodwill store, but they renamed it Retique and made it a Vintage boutique store. What a great concept. I love that the clothes are well organized and the store is very clean. Lots of designer brands such as Ralph Lauren, Eddie Bauer and such. This is legitimately a fancy goodwill and I'm so happy I stumbled upon it. I was at lunch nearby and decided to stop in one day and I'm thankful I did. Basically, all the higher end/nicer clothing items that get donated to goodwill are sent to this store so it makes the thrifting experience a little bit nicer. Like any resell shop, it's a bit unorganized but if you're down to hunt you can definitely find some hidden gems! I ended up getting a Zara jacket for around $20 (would've been over $80 retail). COVID Precautions: Guests and employees are required to wear masks at all times. I couldn't tell if they were limiting capacity or not because it wasn't very busy when I went. read more

If you're a local, skip this place. It's nothing but a "high-end" Goodwill, with outrageous prices (compared to the usual Goodwill stores.) Small with a boutique feeling. I must commend Goodwill for coming up with this idea to lure the tourists to the popular, trendy Third Ward. It has a bit of everything--and in my opinion, it's all overpriced. It would get 3 stars but the habit of staff to practically grab something out of your hands and say they'll "hold it at the counter" for you, was a definite turnoff. I will never shop there again. Fake non authenticated handbags! and the girl who has very big eyes is totally rude! I asked her if they authentic, her answer "We try to" What is that, its a yes or no question!! Then when I told her the Prada bag they had out for $300 was a fake, the stitching and non marked hardware is a basic and remedial giveaway, the lady actually looked me up and down, chking my appearance and said Hmmmm! I love thrifting, but the hardest part about it is finding good clothes. Retique is basically your personal shopper. The store takes good, quality clothes and items and only sells those. I can never leave without buying something. The store is not as big as other local Goodwill locations. They only have about 2 small shelves of books and maybe 3 shelves of household items. However, they do have a substantial inventory of high quality clothes, making it worth my while to come to the Third Ward every once in a while and check it out. read more

They offer quality, name brand items at a higher than usual price (considering GoodWill pricing). The store was very clean and polished, including the bathrooms. Overall the flow and vibe was cohesive and ultra-organized, nothing like it's counterpart...it's much more like an upscale thrift store. Other than clothing, they have bags, some accessories and home decor. The employees weren't very helpful, which was unfortunate because I was having trouble navigating the store. Things are very organized, however the layout wasn't very clear to me and not all of the signage was descriptive. They offer a lot of unique items, some new and trendy, others more vintage but in great condition. If you have an eye for fashion, I'm certain you could put together some really interesting outfits from this store. I get impatient with sifting and sorting and grossed out by the weird "thrift store" smell - there's none of this unpleasantness with Retique. Everything is neatly organized, by colors and size. The merchandise tends to be lightly worn, clean and of good quality. There's definitely treasures to be found! Most of the stock is for women with a smaller mens area and a very small selection of seasonal house ware type stuff. Unlike many thrift stores, it's not overwhelming, but arranged to fit in with other Third Ward stores. On my first trip I was able to find some great clothes for work! I got a pair of Dockers pants, a button-up shirt and a belt for under $15. They also had some decorative houseware items and other accessories like jewelery, belts, shoes, etc. Another reason to shop there is a free rewards card that you can use at many Goodwills in the Milwaukee & Chicago-land areas. I especially like the student discount on Saturdays, so I would definitely recommend it for a student on a budget! This is Goodwill on steroids. Literally (well, in a metaphorical kind of way). It isn't taking steroids but it IS a Goodwill. I would have passed this place up if it hadn't been for my hubby's well trained eye. He saw the famous Goodwill "face" and suggested we check it out. It is laid out like a cute boutique. There are curtains for the dressing rooms that feel, yeah I'll say it, elegant. The lighting is soft and inviting. The exposed brick only adds to the charm. The selection is great! They have obviously sorted through and found some of Goodwill's trendier things. For example, a few items I happened upon were a Bodum French Press, an American Eagle Trapper Hat (that we promptly bought), and a unique 1920's-looking hat. When I was first told about a boutique-style Goodwill store that had higher-end items for sale, I was intrigued. Located in the heart of Milwaukee's Historic Third Ward, this is a cute little place. I have been here a few times now, and overall, I've had pretty good experiences. The items that are sold here are generally in good condition As far as selection goes, it can be hit or miss, just like with any thrift store. If you're looking for a designer purse at a decent price, you can find them here on occasion. With anything you purchase from a thrift store, just make sure you examine things closely. On my most recent trip, I spotted a Kate Spade purse. Upon looking it over, I noticed that the outside of the bag had some slight marks on it. It was made of fabric, so those could probably be easily cleaned with a fabric cleaner. However, I noticed some slight scuff marks on the leather label on the front of the purse. Personally, I thought that $75 was a bit pricey for the condition that the purse was in. Ultimately, I decided not to buy it. I did, however, end up purchasing a skirt and 2 shirts. Keep in mind, this store is not big like your traditional Goodwill is. The main staples here are clothes and purses. They do have a small selection of shoes, household items, and books. read more

No matter when I go I find stuff with tags still no - both work and casual clothes and stuff I might not have picked up in a store, but at these prices, I take a chance and find some of what become my wardrobe favorites. They tout themselves as a more "upscale" Goodwill, and while they are affiliated I don't see the coordination too much. It is a second time around shop in the third ward. I think the workers are very nice, and the store is always well organized. They have frequent sales like the Goodwill too. My issue is that they don't really cater to a younger crowd (unless you're a rockin hipster and know how to dress up some of the older styles). I even have a hard time finding work clothes. There is a large section of the store separated out for petites as well. A lot of the stuff I DID find either had holes in it, or the stitching was coming out. I was surprised that an "upscale" place would buy these sorts of options, and that they still priced them so high for damaged merchandise. read more

Exhibit A: Louis Vuitton Speedy Price: $50 Yes, in real life on my working gal's salary, a LV Speedy would not be in the cards for me full price. Slight tear on one side, easily repaired, and 50 bucks later this legit LV bag was all mine. Exhbit B: Manolo Blahnik Zebra Print Peep-Toe Heels Price: $50 Real-Life Price (Currently) at Nordstroms: $675 Again, I've dreamt of the day I would have my own pair of Manolos and had resigned my luck to being not until I am making much more money, inherit a great sum, or meet someone who wants to lavish me with expensive footware. Leave it to Retique to make the dream come true. Perfect, mint condition Manolo Blahnik shoes. They fit perfectly. It was a sign. I was meant to have them. I have had several other successes on a much smaller scale over the years, including depression-era glass that I used to hold homemade candles, and the most lovely set of glass containers that I etched as a gift for my mom. I just don't get it. I suppose I should preface this by saying I am 26 and maybe I just am not the clientele that Retique caters to, but I just don't get it. The clothes are matronly and, as many have stated, are overpriced. I realize Ralph Lauren is a "good" brand, but paying 15 bucks when someone has already worn it is a bit steep. As many Goodwill thrifters know, Target donates a lot of clothing to Goodwill. I have seen Target dresses priced at 4.99-6.99 at Goodwill that will be jacked up to 9.99-12.99 at Retique. Moral of the story? Go to a regular Goodwill and pay less for the same items. read more

I've been a regular here for the past three autumns, stopping in to check out the wears/wares every month or so. Even when I do not purchase anything, I come away impressed by the selection and offerings. The orange (and other color) tag events are my favorite, because everything with one of those glorious tags is 50% off! Retique has a lot of the name brand styles -- Gap, Calvin Klein, Hilfiger, Levi's, Eddie Bauer, etc. -- making it an easy choice for the cost-conscious clothes shopper. I've made out like a bandit here over the last few years -- dress pants, sport coats, sweaters, even the occasional book! Great organization in terms of sizes and styles -- the place is never a mess so it is quite easy to find what you're looking for and in some cases, possibly what you weren't looking to buy. The sales staff is very friendly and helpful -- they offer to hold your items while you continue to browse, and are always welcoming. I also like the fact that shopping here supports the Goodwill mission -- purchasing gently used clothing from Retique knowing that it benefits those less fortunate warms me all the way to the cockles of your heart...maybe even the sub-cockles!
