Are you ready for a treasure hunt? Look no further than Plume boutique. My jaw dropped the minute I walked into the store and was greeted by the lovely Kiersten who told me about the concept of the store. I began to select my items I wished to try on while engaging in light conversation with her. I love when the shopping experience can be one that feels like you're a part of a community. The store is beautifully laid out with so many pieces. Each with their own story. Kiersten mentioned there was an upstairs to which I was on a time crunch but I had to take a peek. Up the stairs I went and low and behold, stepped into a beautiful room that felt like I walked into a cloud of pink feathery yumminess, and locked eyes on a jacket and felt an electric surge course my body. I slowly walked over and picked up the piece and knew it was mine. I completed a lap before going downstairs to see the beautiful lingerie pieces, jewelry, clothing and wanted so much more, but this jacket was going to need to be my only purchase. It was priceless to me. I had her to try it on and asked Kiersten if she'd like to watch. Of course she wanted to watch! And so I did and a match made in heaven was formed. I loved everything about this experience and I will be a lifelong customer and sing the praises of the store. So I ask you, what treasure item is waiting for you at Plume?

Only open sometimes, blink and you'll miss it. I really enjoyed perusing and taking it all in... they've got some really neat pieces, though nothing jumped out at me this visit as a "must have." And honestly, I couldn't help but feel like everything was priced just *a touch* too high. Totally understand paying for quality antiques in relatively perfect condition, but this spot felt almost like everything was priced $50-$100 above fair market value.

If you're into 50-60's glass, lamps, décor and furniture this is absolutely a place you should be checking out. They've got tons of interesting barware, lamps shaped like flamingos, beer signs for your awesome basement bar and lots of tacky paintings. I was surprised by how much furniture they had - console tables, tons of side chairs and the kind of horribly patterned upholstered sofas that my grandma referred to as "davenports". Speaking of my grandma, I'm pretty sure she owned most of this stuff at some point, especially the matador figurines because bullfighting??? IDK, never could quite figure out what theme grandma had going on in her living room. Anyway, I'd agree with Rachel that the prices on stuff here seem to be higher than at other vintage/antique shops. I'm guessing the high amount of vintage-loving hipsters in BV are driving prices up. Also be aware that the shop is PACKED full, so it's not a great place for smaller kids.

The German Shepherd says he needs some money for home renovations, so the surprised new bank officer asks if he has any collateral. The canine offers up this antique artsy-fartsy thing saying it's worth a lot of money, he got it at On and On Milwaukee for much less than it's actually worth because the prices at this antique store are so reasonable. The lending officer is at a loss, this just wasn't covered in her extensive training so she excuses herself to see the bank manager for advice. She tells him "there's a German Shepherd who can talk who wants money for some renovation work, but all he has to secure it is this vintage thing I don't even know what it is, what should I do?" So the manager tells her, "It's a knick knack Patty Black, give the dog a loan." I'm sorry I don't actually know if they allow dogs in here, talking or not. They do sell all sorts of unusual art and antiques at very reasonable prices and it's right next to a wonderful wine bar and an excellent coffee shop.
