My family and I visited Wisconsin recently and decided to check out Retique. Let me just say that we definitely got some great finds! Of course, it takes having some luck to find amazing items from name brands. But this place has some good stuff (I saw clothing from Adidas, Ralph Lauren, and H&M). After some hunting, I got perfect-fitting shorts, a cute gym bag, and even some pretty skirts! Everything was nicely organized, so much so that after a while I kinda had the layout down. I would for sure come back to see if they got some more nice clothing. Also, I'd say if you have a taste for fashion/design, then you'd be able to create some unique outfits from the items they sell! read more

Not your average thrift store - some fun, unique finds! If you are in the neighborhood it is worth stopping by.

Visited here almost on accident while walking back from Toni's Hoarders World catty corner, and forever glad I did so. An exceptional entry from the Goodwill brand focused on clothing and upper tier brands, as well as fashion forward entries. Like any Goodwill you're going to pay a little more than a Unique or Value thrift store, but in trade you're getting a better quality selection, great organization, restrooms and fitting rooms. Retique adds to these particularly incredible service and a focus on fashion while keeping the prices closer to standard Goodwill ($5-15 for tops and pants, $10-20 for shoes, $15-50 for coats) than Plato's Closet or another vintage/resale/consignment shop. We went in October and received scratch cards with a discount attached (15% for me) and they accepted my Goodwill card which gave me another 5% off as well as access to Goodwill coupons and sales and things. The shop is a little cramped, and although I found some great things the selection was skewed towards skinnier clothes. Also the selection of "things" was very small; this is definitely a clothes shop, and one geared toward women's more than men's clothes. ...But it's a great one. read more

Definitely a fan. Some really great finds for next to no money! I didn't even know this was here until I walked by last weekend -- and then proceeded to spend an hour looking at practically everything. I really enjoyed this place and I found some amazing deals. The staff was really nice, the place was impeccably clean and organized. It definitely feels more like a boutique than a thrift shop and I can totally see myself spending some more afternoons hunting around Retique looking for some great finds. read more

I guess I don't see the point? I'm a big fan of Goodwill, but I guess I'm just not part of the target audience for a venture like this one. I mean, I guess I just don't see how this is substantially different from a regular Goodwill aside from the price point and lack of furniture and knick-knacks. Honestly, nothing here seemed like it would have been too out of place at a Goodwill. Sure, it's nice, but I've seen similar quality stuff at Goodwill's mainline stores. I guess they picked out some of the nice stuff and priced it higher, but I don't know if that's enough to make a trip here worthwhile. Maybe it's just not for me. I don't know. I'm trying to be fair here, but all I see is a thrift store trying to cater to people who don't like thrift stores. read more

This goodwill is a disguised gem. Found while walking past, this clean well organized store sucked me in. The staff was helpful by offering to start a dressing room for me or to hold my mound of purchases at the register. The clothes themselves, while some of them a bit dated, were clean and well organized in well-labeled sections. In regards to the prices its the good will! Nothing I purchased was over 10 dollars and shopping their basically feels like your getting things for free. If I find myself in the area again I will definitely be revisiting. read more

This was a neat store with a lot of name brand items. Very many surprises can be found if you do a good job of hunting.

I've been to my fair share of thrift stores and I found this to basically be your standard Goodwill in a fancier downtown location. I wasn't overwhelmed by quantity of product or by the amount of things I personally was interested in. As far as the product went, I'd give it a two stars. The customer service however was overly friendly and helpful compared to your standard Goodwill, bonus star. I can see myself coming back if I were to get the thrift store jonesin' like I did last weekend. read more

A very neat thrift store located in a wonderful part of Milwaukee! This store was very tidy, organized, and well labeled. Unlike many thrift stores where you have to sift through several hundred items to find the good stuff, the employees have already done this for you! I appreciated the organization and friendly customer service! I will be back when in Milwaukee! read more

It's a goodwill for those people who are too uppity to say they go to goodwill. Though because of it's location the clientele is much nicer than other goodwill locations and the store is clean and seems to be much more upscale. read more

I happened to stumble into this store walking around the Third Ward. Who knew Goodwill had a boutique. Its just like any Goodwill but with a nicer set up and less of the funny smell. The prices are about the same or a little higher it depends on what you are looking for. They have clothes for every occasion, books,CD's jewelery and shoes. The only thing you can't find there are electronics and housewares. You can use you discount card and coupons there and donate. The only thing they don't accept is electronics and housewares. Retique now sells kids clothes!

This is one of the nicer thrift stores I've been to. The store is very well organized, clean, and the associates are so helpful! I've bought so many great things for work and gotten such a great deal. Average cost of a shirt is between $5-$7, so maybe that's more than your average thrift store, but these are quality clothes with, many times, designer labels. I've also purchased things in the past that still had the tags on. Great store! read more

I've found some of the coolest things here- all for less than $3! I've gotten a zebra print halter, glittery purple tank top, and a cute t shirt with sneakers on it. Perfect location! read more

Good Will...and then some. And then some better quality items, cleaner stores, "better" clientele, more scarce parking spots, and slightly higher prices (but you get what you pay for). I'd still check items over carefully but you're less likely to find disgustingly soiled things like you might in a regular Good Will. Unfortunately the lighting in here is pretty bad so that may take some effort. read more

My first Retique experience was very good overall. Yes, parking in Third Ward is a pain but I ended up finding a spot right in front of the store. The store is very organized and clean, and the staff is EXTREMELY friendly. Prices are a dollar or two more than a typical Goodwill but if you're looking for specific or nicer items I think it's worth not having to dig through all the junk. I agree with previous posts that styles tend to lean toward the matronly side; however, seeing as I spent $50 on a nice winter coat and a pair of b.o.c. boots, I will definitely be back for tag sales and with coupons. read more

This place smells, literally. I thought it was just the store but I bought several items and will be returning them all. Everything smells like they were lying wet on a basement floor for a couple of months. They do have name brand items but everyday brands as well that are all overpriced. I found a dress from Kohls that retails for $16.99 at the Retique priced for $12.99. Other Goodwill locations would have priced it at $5.99. If you go, make sure to check over the items before purchasing. I bought a fabric laundry hamper that was missing the metal rods on the sides to hold it upright. It was hung up in the store to display it so I didn't realize there were parts missing until I was at home. I would return to check out the inventory if in the area, but that SMELL! read more

I believe Retique is associated with Goodwill. Staff members greeted me upon entering and asked if they could assist with anything. There was quite a large selection of women's tops. The prices were very reasonable, a $3-5 range for shirts. Lots of pants too, but all high-waisters, and frankly, I wasn't that impressed with the quality. I was not impressed by the shoes, most looked pretty worn out and old. Many were dusty and needed cleaning. The staff was helpful and friendly. Nice selection of men's clothes, too. read more

I stopped in this store this past Saturday and I was very impressed. It really has the feel of shopping in a boutique store. I really liked the quality and selection of the clothes. You would never think this is a resale shop. Everything is nicely displayed. Mari was very helpful and friendly. I think I have found a new favorite store. Be prepared to drive around a little bit for parking in the Third Ward. read more

I went here recently and was so disappointed and a little offended. The prices were on the high side, which from what I remembered in the past was rationalized by the fact that they didn't take crap brands and the clothes were all pristine. A lot has changed. 75% of the items I found were sporting damage. I found a nice cream colored Ralph Lauren sweater for $15. That's pretty high for a thrift store as it is, but what was worse was that it had a HUGE stain on the front of it. I found a cute little long sleeved shirt from Ann Taylor, $8.00, ugh, still pretty hefty price tag, especially so when I discovered a whole in it towards the bottom. Found another Ralph Lauren sweater, a bit outdated but one could still pull it off with the right accessories, again priced at $15 I experienced sticker shock. As I was looking it over the back had a large swath of wear that was obvious and unfixable. I found a Talbot's button down shirt for $10 that had pit stains so bad that I would be embarrassed to wear it and also a little disgusted. I won't go on listing every piece of clothing I inspected. I found a couple of shirts that were priced not too high that appeared to be in good conditions but I was so paranoid that I would get them into decent lighting and discover otherwise that I simply could not bring myself to purchase them. I would caution anyone shopping here to be EXTREMELY diligent in checking over your merchandise prior to buying. read more

this place has almost nothing in the way of men's clothing and the workers were very snobby to my friend and i (in our mid twenties). not worth your time, unless you like supporting a bunch of snobs, i'd take a goodwill over this place any day - and a goodwill would have much more selection. read more

Well organized, attractive store. Nice selection of merchandise, including the occasional designer item - I scored an Armani Collezzioni jacket for $30 last year. Much higher class than the normal Goodwill store. read more

Walked in today (haven't been in there for a while, so I and a friend thought we'd give it another chance) and was completely blown away to see the price tags on various items that were EXTREMELY OVERPRICED! I understand that the store is trying to be "boutique like", however, it's still Goodwill and USED items. Here is the worst part though, my friend and I were commenting on how overpriced things were and we decided to leave, upon us walking out the door, we overheard two associates comment on our comment , "Oh, yeah, that's common to hear" about our comment. There was a purse in one of the cases that was priced at $499.99!! Seriously?! By my experience, Goodwill has been a very poor judge of character on name brand bags. Third Ward or not, this is a rip off! I can easily go to, which we did, another Goodwill location and pay $7.99 or below for the same pair of jeans that Retique would sell for $12.99 and up! read more
