Finally made it to Chanos! Lots of stuff to look through! Hard part was it's 50/50 in items being labeled for pricing. Which is a little odd then when you make it to checkout/makes me personally not want to grab non-labeled items. Another customer told me you can kind of bargain/haggle the pricing but if that isn't something you're comfortable doing... Overall the price I was given for my total was my max I would have spent had she gone higher I would have asked her to individually note the prices so I could put one thing back. I personally would have priced it probably $5 less especially due to one of the items being a short basket that had some imperfections and I couldn't see it being valued for more than $3 based on average of other places I'd been. I share similar sentiments with those who have mentioned that Chano's Warehouse feels overcrowded and picked over, likely due to its recent popularity on social media. I miss the days when parking wasn't a challenge, as the lot is now often packed. The space itself isn't the cleanest--pretty dusty, and some items, like the records, are heavily scratched and have an unpleasant smell. I understand that thrifting and vintage shopping often come with some wear and tear, especially in a space of this size, but compared to my favorite resale shops, it doesn't quite measure up. Additionally, the selection doesn't seem to rotate much, and I rarely find more than one or two worthwhile items. If there were a wider, more consistently refreshed inventory, I wouldn't mind the cleanliness issues as much--I love digging through things to find hidden gems. That said, the staff is very kind and friendly, and the prices are pretty reasonable, which is definitely a plus. Just a heads-up--these pictures are from my first visit, and after returning this past Saturday, I noticed that the stock hasn't changed much and feels more picked over compared to my initial trips. read more

Quite often my clients request that I accompany them on a shopping excursion for various home-decor items: furniture, accessories, lamps, decorative objects, and the like; this is my job and I enjoy it very much. One of my clients recently requested I escort them to Chano's Warehouse in Milwaukee this past Saturday; I was not certain what to expect but I was pleasantly surprised. The exterior is somewhat sparse: a few lawn/garden tools, stacks of chairs/bins, and little else. It gives every appearance of an over-sized pole-barn and to be frank that's exactly what it is. The carpark is somewhat disorganised, but there is plenty of space and also parking available on the street. The warehouse itself is enormous, with all manner of items available for purchase: furniture, china, glasses, toys, clothing, and so on. There are vintage items: phonograph records, farm implements, period toys, etc. I was very pleasantly surprised to observe that although piled high, all the items were clean and polished; the towels/sheets/linens appeared to have been laundered and were folded/arranged nicely. The glasses were beautifully polished and the furniture was spanking clean. Yes, there is some disarray; there are heaps and heaps of things and one cannot attend to everything. Yes, the pricing is very fair; I did not think anything was too dear although some items were marked. However, considering how many items were available, this is probably not surprising and Maria, when ringing me up, offered very reasonable amounts to me (which I accepted). Yes, there is some haggling allowed on the pricing; I was able to chat for a bit with Maria, the owner, who was very friendly and told me how much she enjoyed having this business and welcoming customers. Yes, there was a line but it moved quickly and quite honestly, there was so much to look at I really didn't think it took that long. It may be reasonable to suggest that the success of Chano's Warehouse is perhaps unanticipated and that Maria and her staff are doing the best they can. Nobody's perfect. I enjoyed my visit to Chano's Warehouse (as did my clients) and look forward to returning soon (with more clients). read more

Sounds like a great idea. Bring all the stuff left over from Estate Sales to one place... and get a great deal. Things are mostly organized by subject.. on shelves and tables... nice and orderly. That's the good part. But perhaps a third of the items are priced... so they tell you to bring the items you are interested in up to the front, and one of the guys will "make a deal" with you. This feels like that are gonna take a look at how you are dressed, what your jewelry looks like... and price things on a whim. And I am an old guy with a cane... so not so easy to make multiple trips to the front, lugging something along. So they said.. take a pic with your phone and we will price it that way. That means if I want it, I have to go back, find it... and still lug it up front. (yes they have shopping carts) MUCH easier to just PRICE the items... and make more sales. This concept of "let's make a deal" seemed to be a concern for many others too, as I heard them grumbling about no prices, and not wanting to keep making trips to the front. They could even Color Code the stickers so they know how long it's been in the building... an easy to implement idea. Much of what I did see priced, was over priced even for an Estate Sale (Maybe why it didn't sell to begin with) A silver plated over copper tray.. with the copper showing through... $35... Nope. One trip for me, I dont need to go back. A waste of time for me, but perhaps you will do better. read more

There is a lot here, varying from finds to discards. While there is some general order to things, it's still a hot mess. In general the furniture is not too hot. Glassware seems great. Lamps are abundant if pedestrian. Linens and clothes are very musty. Most stuff is unmarked. But the staff is helpful and gracious. read more

The warehouse had some cool things, but the line was super long, the entire place was crowded and it looked pretty picked over. Some items were priced well while others were quite expensive. A lot of items weren't priced and we chose not to wait in line to find out how much they were. read more

We stopped by on a Sunday after hearing about it on social media recently. The parking lot was completely full and tons of people were coming in at the same time. Considering they are only open on select days we're not surprised to see how crowded it was. It's seemed most of the people there were perusing around but not necessarily looking for anything specific, like almost just to just see all the things they have there as if it were a museum. It's not quite a normal thrift store, it seems like there's a big mix of collectibles, picked-over estate sale items and just old rusted/odd things. We came here looking for some specific things, mostly furniture or lamps and the related but it seemed like they mostly have tons and tons of small items all stuffed into cabinets and boxes all through out the warehouse. Prices seemed kinda all over the place, or not even on the item, but it seemed to be more on the side of a curated antique store rather than a secondhand thrift store, though I believe the prices were negotiable potentially. It was so so crowded we could barely walk down the aisles and would have to stop to figure out how to move forward... one lap and we were out since it was just too much going on. The people running the place seemed nice, but the place was overwhelming and overall somewhat odd. Are they a thrift store, estate sale overflow, antique store, collectible haven or just junk piles... I'm not really sure. Don't think we would be coming back soon since it was just kinda uncomfortable in there since it was so busy with people and things everywhere. read more

Way too cluttered inside and the popularity of the place has made parking impossible. Big crowds and small reward. There are much better and bigger antique malls elsewhere. Don't waste your time. read more

Wow this place is amazing. Super nice and attentive. Lots and lots of stuff! You'll probably find what you're looking for here. The majority of the things did not have price tags, which I found to be really inconvenient because I didn't want to have to keep asking how much this and how much that cost. For that reason alone, I would only return if I could locate what I really wanted here. Additionally, there is a service fee for using a credit card. Go check them out.
