I tried to donate some window regulators and other automotive parts. I was told they do not sell automotive parts at that Goodwill. The parts I was trying to donate was NOT on their list of Hazardous materials, which is the reason they gave for not taking my donation. They actually told me to go down the street. There was one employee that was trying to help, he even asked his manager. The manager said no they do not take automotive parts. read more

This location tends to be higher priced than others nearby, so even though it is the one closest to me I usually go to the one on University and Greenfield. However I was at this location today and did find something I wanted to buy. I went and stood in line at one of the two registers with lights on and a person working at them. The man who was running the register I was at finished the person in front of me and then turned his light off and walked away. Never looked at me, never said, "sorry, it's my lunch time" or anything. The lady he had just finished helping even looked at me and did a "what the heck?" I left without the item I was going to buy. It was only $3, so really nothing to them, and I can live without it. Just made me feel bad. read more

After today my family and I refuse to donate to Goodwill. My mother and I arrived at the drop off area for donations at about 8:55am, and my mother was rudely approached by a male employee with a ponytail making a fuss about how it wasn't the right time to drop off donations. The employee rudely told my mother and I, that the correct times for donation drop offs on Tuesdays are at 10am. This became confusing as there was no sign in the drop off area that stated this. But there was a sign that specified donation drop offs 9:00am-9:00pm. Not only did the employee make a fuss about the miscommunication he rudely stated for us to read the signs next time and walked off. Not even a "thank you" for the donation. I made the decision to explain the situation to the manager and as I was walking into the store I noticed then different signs on the door entrance, stating the new donation drop off times and one sign specifying "Tuesday's 55 and up CAN drop off donations starting at 9 am." This became very confusing as my mother was 55+ years of age. There is never any reason to speak to anyone in the tone the male employee had with my mother, let alone someone who is donating. A simple miscommunication can be explained without any rude tone. And if you want people to be aware of new donation drop off times, then put signs also in the donation drop off area outside. I recommend to never donate to this Goodwill location as their employees are rude and unappreciative. And the store lacks any professionalism. read more

This particular store is located in a strip mall. On Tuesdays there is a 25% senior discount, so needless to say today the store was extra busy. They have what is known as the color of the day today it was purple, so that means all purple tagged stuff was 50% off. This location is clean, and well organized. The aisles are kinda crowded. The aisles are well marked. They have a wide variety of clothing, books, CD's, movies, electronics, furniture, miscellaneous household items. The cashiers are friendly. The first Saturday of each month everything is 50% off. I suggest getting there early on that day as the store is crowded. read more

This store should be called "Greedwill" as for there pricing is similar to ebay prices, often I can find cheaper products for a lot cheaper online. For example they have an Instant Pot for $41, it is used, previously owned. I can buy this same Instant Pot on Facebook for $30.00 used! Thrift Stores should not be selling items they get for free, donated, and pricing it so high. If it is just this store is yet to be investigated. If it is all stores in Mesa, I will start an effort to lower the prices or boycott them and spread the word. Also many others back me in the store 2 ladies were talking about items that are priced way to high, and they could get similar or new items for much cheaper else where. I arrived at the drop off door at Recker and Main at 10:15 a.m. I admit that I drove up to the door against the arrow painted on the parking lot but no one else was there and I had a lot of items on that side of the car to unload. An older man came out and with no greeting, proceeded to complain that the buzzer goes off when I pull in the wrong way. (Oh my goodness--I must have awakened him!) he leaned on a cart the whole time while I unloaded my car. Never offered to help. Never moved. No one else arrived to donate while I was unloading. He was rude and a jerk to say the least. This is the third rude donation experience in a a row that I've had at a Goodwill Store. I WILL NOT BE DONATING TO GOODWILL IN THE FUTURE--the garbage man is much more hospitable! read more

Sat March 7, 2020 I was looking for some large pots to use for landscaping. I parked in a handicapped spot on the east end of the store and had to walk down the walkway to the door. I passed by at least three employees smoking in the walkway and another three "others". Employees should be relegated to the rear of the store or the sidewalk on Main st .. They had 50% off on orange tags today. They also have 50% off 2 Saturdays a month. You can't beat the discounts. The merchandise is used, but in fair condition. You can find almost any household item here. I wish I would have come here when my Mr. Coffee carafe broke. I bought a new coffee maker. I came across a carafe like the one that broke for a buck. If you want a used book or DVD, you'll spend a few minutes looking as they are not in any particular order. read more

I had a pair of snow boarding boots that where marked $3.99. The cashier left his registers with the boots without saying anything to me and took them to another employee while I waited by myself. He then sent me to her register when I got there she walked back to his register without communicating with me so I had to go back to his again. He then told me that the boots will be $29.99. Nobody had a apology or an explanation. Disorganized lack of communication and bad customer service and a waist of time. read more

This Goodwill sucks big time. Waited for someone to show up so I could purchase a chair. The manager called for someone to MeetMe in furniture and nobody came. When I said something about it the manager gave the excuse it's a shift change... Well manage your employees so when there's a shift change the customer isn't left waiting .... IAM the customer that's purchasing something that they will be profiting be from. How about u geton a register and assist customer s instead of standing around doing nothing the having someone that can't even operate a register. I was going to purchase. Came here because of a tip from Daphne Monroe, Smart Shopper. Wow was she right! Specifically for the bridal area. TONS of bridal and occasion dresses. Men's tux jackets, kids too! I will shop here now for occasion dresses! YES! Be prepared to hunt and pick. Most occasion dresses are arranged by color, helpful but should be arranged by size instead. read more
