I have to say that this is probably the nicest Goodwill location I have been to.

I found a book and some stick on nails I waited in line for and knew the cashier was not selling items that didn't have tags (there's a sign up front that says this policy too). However I thought all books were a set price and didn't worry until it was my turn and she asked if the book had a tag. I said no and told her where I found the book on the shelf. She said she can't sell it without a tag and just stared at me as if she was waiting for me to either put up a stink or ask more. I just said well I guess I can't buy it then? She set it aside. I did ask if she could just price it or get a manager and she said she was a manager and left it at that. Why was it on the sales floor then without a sticker if you have this policy? She said it would be out on the floor in the next day or so after getting a price. I stopped by later in the week after that to see if I could find the book again but I sadly couldn't find it, I got some other items instead and the gentlemen this time was super friendly and was astounded at hearing about my previous visit. If I knew about their policy beforehand I would have just taken a sticker off one item and put it on the book...I won't stop here again as it's out of the way.

This location has DRASTICALLY raised prices in the last year to the point of making it almost as…read moreexpensive as a Walmart. Aren't these items all donated?! Goodwill is expensive too now, but at least video games and DVDs have a set price. I just walked out after they wanted $14 for donated DVDs. Unthinkably high price. I'll give the store credit for its cleanliness and organization, but shopping has become very difficult.

Location was inconvenient for me as it was a 45 minute drive, but the friendly and helpful staff, combined with their large and beautiful facilities made it worthwhile. Second Harvest Heartland was easy to work with. Their online reservation system made it easy to see which time slots could accommodate us. We were even able to use their large meeting room space to host a 2 hour lunch and networking event prior to our volunteering session. The large room included 2 screens for projecting presentations from your laptop, sound system with microphone and a strong and free WiFi. All of this was of great value to our group! As one of the leaders of Asian Professionals Alliance in MN (APAM), we brought together 70 volunteers from across APAM member companies: 3M, Best Buy, Cargill, General Mills, Medtronic, Target & US Bank. Not only was this venue large enough to accommodate our large group, they were so organized, gave us great instruction and constantly kept the workplace clean, comfortable. They had 6 computers at the entrance for each individual to register for the event. Half of our group boxed care packages for senior citizens while the other half worked to inspect and package 40 pound bags of potatoes for food shelves across the country. My favorite part is that they share the results of your volunteer efforts at the end of your shift. I would absolutely recommend this place for volunteering sessions - for individuals, small groups and large groups!

Nothing, not even the courtesy to tell me I was denied and for what reason. We would have given her the best home! With so much love. I talked to a few tech friends one who worked there and was told horror stories about this establishment. They discriminate on applications before even speaking to potential adopters. They do not communicate (obviously) and are certainly not a no kill shelter. Sadly for the animals this place is detrimental to saving animals, quite the contrary.

Impossible to find, right? Well, thanks to Rescue Pets are Wonderful (RPAW), we were able to find him EXACTLY that. The RPAW volunteer we worked with was nothing short of amazing, patient, and super helpful. With her help, we were able to find a healthy, happy, neutered kitten (all cats are fixed prior to adoption) that fulfilled ALL of my boyfriend's insane wants. We honestly couldn't be happier. We are exceedingly grateful to RPAW for connecting us with our new wonderful family member. I highly, HIGHLY recommend this organization if you are looking for a new dog or cat companion (or if you want to volunteer!).

Habitat for Humanity ReStore - This is heavy solid metal. It would be awesome on a fence or house. I couldn't pass it up for 20$.

This place has so many things for such affordable prices. Some of the items are brand new and even with the tag still on and some are more antique used items. There's a good variety of used and new items, along with various categories of goods.... big and small. Pricing varies as well, but you can bet your paying less than retail price. Some of the basics: sofas, artwork, rugs, paint, bedframes, lightbulbs, patio furniture, Some of the interesting: church pew, chandeliers, fancy stoves, building material (flooring, fixtures, cabinets) Some of the little things: command strips, paper towel holder, bath mat, frames There's so much, and you never know what you'll find during your visit so check it out. I will say, staff didn't seem warm and friendly (ie a smile, or offer to help), but at the same no one was directly rude. I gather if you ask for help, they'd assist. I noticed by the bed frames, a sign that said they have tools to disassemble, but you had to do it yourself, which is still helpful since some places wouldn't even offer that.
