You can find good deals here but it takes forever to check out. Get more cashiers and work faster!

The music selection was a little off, but the workers were nice. The selection was pretty good! I ended up swiping my card.

The goodwill outlet center / "bins" is quite the experience haha. You can tell a lot of people are…read morethere all the time and are "professionals", but I still enjoyed it as a casual thrifter! There are rows of bins, probably 40-60 in the store, and they are filled with clothes, household items, shoes, games, etc! At first glance most of it is less then appealing, but there are definitely hidden gems in these bins! I walked away with a jacket and top for my partner and pants for me! No dressing rooms. There are a ton of people there typically too, so be prepared to be in close proximity and searching bins together! Some of the bins smelled and overarchingly the experience is a little gross when you think about it too long haha. Being gloves if you want and wash up after, you'll be fine! They switch out the bins maybe every 30mins-1 hour, and this is when you find the best stuff that hasn't been picked over. The staff was friendly enough. I was surprised by the prices. You pay by the pound, which is cool! I still expected it to cost less though haha. It was roughly $4/piece for everything I got. Again nothing crazy and good prices for thrifting, but I still expected it to be "dirt cheap" given these items are at their final destination. Overall it's a place I'll come once or twice a year to mix up my thrifting :)

We went during a cloudy afternoon so it was the perfect activity. I got to observe the new bin rush from the side, and later participate in one as well. I get people are enthusiastic even outside the new bin drops, but some large parties kept hogging side sections when I was trying to go through them in a flow. I kept thinking about other things I wanted to see/do in the Twin Cities though so couldn't lock in to the level I really wanted. Next time I'll need to spend a whole day here and be more liberal with my narrowing down step. Unfortunately not trying on everything at my friend's apartment wasn't a good idea because now I'm back in Texas and some items don't fit right.

Habitat for Humanity ReStore - This is heavy solid metal. It would be awesome on a fence or house. I couldn't pass it up for 20$.

This place has so many things for such affordable prices. Some of the items are brand new and even with the tag still on and some are more antique used items. The stock of what is available there is so random and can very depending on what they receive but they generally offer a selection of couches, tables, chairs, rugs, bookshelf's, and appliances. However, the best deal there are the lightbulbs. 4 bulbs for 99 ¢. Unbeatable.

There's a good variety of used and new items, along with various categories of goods.... big and small. Pricing varies as well, but you can bet your paying less than retail price. Some of the basics: sofas, artwork, rugs, paint, bedframes, lightbulbs, patio furniture, Some of the interesting: church pew, chandeliers, fancy stoves, building material (flooring, fixtures, cabinets) Some of the little things: command strips, paper towel holder, bath mat, frames There's so much, and you never know what you'll find during your visit so check it out. I will say, staff didn't seem warm and friendly (ie a smile, or offer to help), but at the same no one was directly rude. I gather if you ask for help, they'd assist. I noticed by the bed frames, a sign that said they have tools to disassemble, but you had to do it yourself, which is still helpful since some places wouldn't even offer that.

As I turned to walk away she said loudly (and in front of other customers) "don't take merchandise in the bathroom!" Later when paying for my items she kept throwing them over my hands (I was folding as she scanned) I eventually just stopped folding. After I paid we both stood there awkwardly, I was waiting for her to bag my items and she seemed uninterested in doing so. She finally crudely crammed everything into a single bag. Majorly micro aggressive individual. What a miserable person! As mentioned: no dressing room and a silly return policy, so shop at your own discretion! Compared to the nearby goodwill, this one was severely overpriced. Silver jeans here are tagged at $20+, while I found a few pairs at the goodwill just 10 mins away for $9. Jackets and other items were also overpriced! Might as well wait for a good sale at a department store. Lastly, see photos. Nearly all jackets and coats had the tags written on. I don't see why the workers would do this. And I do mean almost every single one, so this isn't an instance of the donated clothes being turned in this way. The two stars are for the store being neat and clean. Despite the high prices and some merch being damaged with their tagging, I love the hunt and would have returned, but I don't tolerate such ugly behavior so I'll pass on returning to this store.

Location was inconvenient for me as it was a 45 minute drive, but the friendly and helpful staff, combined with their large and beautiful facilities made it worthwhile. Second Harvest Heartland was easy to work with. Their online reservation system made it easy to see which time slots could accommodate us. We were even able to use their large meeting room space to host a 2 hour lunch and networking event prior to our volunteering session. The large room included 2 screens for projecting presentations from your laptop, sound system with microphone and a strong and free WiFi. All of this was of great value to our group! As one of the leaders of Asian Professionals Alliance in MN (APAM), we brought together 70 volunteers from across APAM member companies: 3M, Best Buy, Cargill, General Mills, Medtronic, Target & US Bank. Not only was this venue large enough to accommodate our large group, they were so organized, gave us great instruction and constantly kept the workplace clean, comfortable. They had 6 computers at the entrance for each individual to register for the event. Half of our group boxed care packages for senior citizens while the other half worked to inspect and package 40 pound bags of potatoes for food shelves across the country. My favorite part is that they share the results of your volunteer efforts at the end of your shift. I would absolutely recommend this place for volunteering sessions - for individuals, small groups and large groups!
