I had a stylist appointment with Sarah. She was AMAZING!! She was so helpful, and kind. This was (amazingly enough!) a free service! I got so many clothes ideas, recommendations and feedback. I absolutely loved everything about the day! At the end of the day, I got at least 10 new outfits and shoes for a fraction price of what I would have paid for retail! I would say most of the inventory consist of clothing. There's a good amount for men, and children, most of it is for women. They have dressing rooms which is nice. You'll also find racks filled with home decor, kitchen items, and household goods (ie; alarm clocks, mirrors, irons). They also have books, footwear, a limited amount of furniture, and random items (crutches, luggage). This is probably my 3rd/4th visit and so far, all has been fine. read more

This was a super good find! I don't always like going to Goodwill because it doesn't seem like their prices are much cheaper than shopping at main brands, but Arc's had some really good deals! The deals on the shoes were crazy. $8.99 for a pair of nice Sperry's? Yes, please. They also had furniture, books, home decor, and so much other stuff. This will definitely be my first stop whenever I need new stuff. read more

I was in the area and stopped here third as another thrift store was closed. It seemed super sketch. Some stuff was crappy and expensive. Super crowded and busy. I found 3 things that I really didn't need: a needlepoint of holidays, a Louisville slugger tin sign and a Reserved for the dog pillow, which I put in the dryer. REWARD/HEARTBROKEN: Reward for items grabbed from my van in a Save box while donating by staff member Andrew in March. Edina class mug, memory card for phone, video tapes of my children's birthday, notes for a book I was writing and a diary. Returned the next day and the staff stated it was "gone." No effort was made to set this box aside for 24 hours as the manager said they do if items look to be personal. Did not see any other items from that box of the floor after returning four times. I miss Arc Value, they had to close a few stores and I'm not in their area any longer. I stopped by this one while I was on the hunt for some pieces for costumes I'm putting together. It was just as I remembered other locations being, big space with a large selection and very clean. The fitting rooms were busy but I was able to snag one and try a few things on. I love the model offered y this store! Here's their information from the website: "Arc's Value Village Thrift Stores and Donation Centers started in 1982 as a means of funding programs and services that benefit children and adults with developmental disabilities and their families through The Arc Minnesota. Today, our three thrift stores generate significant funding for The Arc's programs and services." I have been slowly sorting and boxing items to donate and dropping them off. The COVID awareness at the drop zone is fantastic and the dogs love seeing the employees taking the boxes out of the back of the van. The store itself is big, bright and clean with lots of options. My daughter and I had a personal stylist at this store. We told her our sizes and color preferences and types of clothing we were looking for and we each had our own 6 foot rack of clothing to try on during our 90 minutes appointment and our individual dressing room was decked out in shoes, jewelry, purses and coats. It was heaven--heaven! Our atylist was so sweet and she listened so well, my daughter got neutral cropped stuff and I got bright colors that cover the body. I loved that we could splurge and it was something like $125 for 20 items. Seriously nirvana. Covid hit and I believe the appointments are now online, but there are definite benefits to that as you can show your stylist your current clothes and what you might like to match. They offer this service for men too and my teenager loved it, it's free, try it! I was recently at the store and picked up a lovely scarf for $1.99. I do like the prices! This store is always tidy and has a nice selection of housewares, books, linens and plenty of clothes. Also a cool new mattress area at the back, they do not sell used mattresses. A Covid thing is taking your own clothes off the hangers and holding the up to be scanned and bagging them yourself. Stop in to find a potential treasure! read more

A great second-hand store for a five-star cause! I love that. This location was large, clean and organized. There are racks and racks of clothes to sort through, with lots of options from infants to adults. There are also so many other used items like knick knacks, furniture, electronics etc. There are a few dressing rooms too! This location is closest to where we live, and my beau was looking for some new work pants. Unfortunately, there weren't any to his liking. One of the things that I enjoy about Arc's Value Village stores is that they're neat, well kept, and easy to navigate. It's fun to look through the sections to find hidden treasures. They seem to do a pretty good job of sifting through the donations so that the merchandise is not trash. The staff is also friendly and helpful. read more

Employees are dishonest. I had an item on hold and returned 25 minutes later to buy it and the item was gone. There were only 4 employees working that evening and it was not very busy. Each of the employees working were asked if they had moved it. I was hoping to know where it had been placed so I could see if it was still in the store. They all denied touching it and from where it was being held (isolated behind the counter with my name on it) it was obvious someone was not being truthful. They also showed no concern or accountability as I tried to find out what had happened to it. read more

Arc's is a nice spot for thrifting. This Arc's is smaller than the others two (Brooklyn Center, Richfield) that Ive been to, but it's still a nice place. Richfield is probably the nicest Arc's in my opinion since it's close to Edina, which is a nicer neighborhood than Brooklyn Center and New Hope. Ive actually gotten and seen really nice items at all locations though. A couple of months ago, I got Banana and Calvin Klein jackets at the Brooklyn Center location for only about 7-8 bucks each. Also at the Brooklyn Center location, I saw vintage Ferragamo shoes for 5.99! Too bad it was too small. I was trying so hard to squeeze my feet in, but I couldnt. Just today at this location, I saw Coach flats, Marc by Marc Jacobs sandals, AK shoes, Franco Sarto shoes for like 19.99 each. Too bad the ones that I liked were not my size, and the ones that were my size were not my style. The weak point for this location though would be the jewelery. I never found myself some nice pairs of earing here. Watch out for the 50% off different colored price-tags on different days. That's a total steal. read more

MY FAVORITE THRIFT STORE EVER!! First and foremost Arc is a nonprofit organization. It helps make life better for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families. So your shopping is HELPING people, how awesome is that! The profit for sales goes to benefiting the community! Not a corporation trying to get rich, but instead you're saving clothes from landfills and helping the community. Winning in my book! I've had some GREAT luck at the place. All the Lululemon I own I found here (3 pieces. yoga pants, a tank top and a thermal top). I've gotten numerous pieces of J Crew, Banana Republic, Nike, Under Armour, The Limited, The Loft, Anne Taylor, and those are only the ones I can think of off the top of my head! The workers are often volunteers, some with disabilities that are sooo sweet and helpful. I enjoy seeing them working and doing something that makes them feel good about themselves. Stuff is well sorted and well organized however, depending on the season, stuff can get moved around to make room for whatever holiday/season apparel is in. But I just have to look for the sign, or ask an associate where "__" got moved to and they show me right away. They have good selection of furniture and just about everything there. It's a large location and I ALWAYS leave after purchasing something. Some say the prices can be high, but it depends on the article. I've gotten steals on brand names before, but I've also had to spend money on other brands. But they do have half off certain color tag weeks, and I've gotten amazing deals with those before also. I personally donate all my stuff here, not only because it goes to a good cause, but also cause I get reward points for donating! Tips! If you are a frequent shopper, get a value rewards cards! You do have to pay $10, but you get a $10 coupon in return right away! Every dollar you spend goes toward your account and once you hit a certain number you get $10 free! You often get emails with coupons, they have sales for students, seniors and color tags go on sale depending on the week. They will happily help you bring stuff to your car, and are more then willing to help you in just about any aspect you may need. Seriously what is in the air in this place? Since they have remodeled I have noticed the prices have gone THROUGH THE ROOF. Why? It's the same donated used gear, so why decide to raise the prices? For that reason alone, I have to give them 2 stars. Prove it! You say. -There was a Le Creuset pan there, that was selling for $15.99. BRAND NEW it may be $20 tops (I have seen it first hand), so $16 is beyond a rip off for a used dish. -$3-$5 for hotel soaps? I thinks not. -$10-$15 for board games?!?! They are used for crying out loud. Cut it out. Snap out of it. No bueno. Because of the prices I will only check this place out MAYBE once a month. To give you an idea of how serious I am, the last two times I went there, I bought nothing. That is UNHEARD of for me. Arc peeps- Check yourself on the pricing. It's out of whack. You know, I think I have to say that this place is really growing on me. I love thrift stores because I have a little romance going on with vintage and retro "stuff" So, while this isn't as big as some other thrift stores are, I like the fact that things in here are not over priced for the most part. I can't say I've ever had to put things back on the shelf because it was priced too high, unlike another one of my favorites (hint: Unique Thrift store!) While I usually go to the one on Winnetka in New Hope, I did recently check out the one on Brooklyn Blvd, and it's a lot bigger. I was able, between those 2 stores, get the full get-up for my hubby's halloween costume, for....get this......$4!!! He's going to be the hottest GI-Joe around! read more

The staff here is super friendly. They even helped me to load my $1.99 antique table into my car. I have found some great things here, including a Chanel scarf (24.99) and an Ann Taylor suit for a whopping $12.99. There are days when you will leave empty handed, but the store is well organized, and somewhat neat (its a thrift store after all). Its also smaller then other stores, so you do not feel overwhelmed. Arc is by far my favorite local thrift store. I believe the profits go to support children with a range of disabilities. This location is medium sized, but always has enough stuff to supply my Halloween costume! The best part is each week there is a different color tag which goes on sale at 50% off the price listed. I often drop my donations here because it's very convenient with an in store drop or drive around to the back for larger dropoffs. read more

We came here to shop with our daughter and look for clothes for us. My wife enjoyed the selection of women's clothing, but the men's clothing was not great. My daughter we pretty disappointed with the toys section. The store is relatively clean, but did have a bit of a musky smell. Workers seemed approachable, but our only interaction was at checkout where the worker was very friendly. read more

Donated a large box and three grocery bags full of new and once-worn shoes, handbags, and clothes to this store. They gave me a coupon of points to add to a frequent donors card. I saw a pair of used shoes whose stitching was coming undone I liked. At $20.00 still, I asked if there might be a discount to compensate for the cost of a shoe repair on it. The manager-- a guy in his 30s-- said he didn't negotiate prices with customers, seemed pretty uninterested in his work, and then walked away. I'd debated bringing my donations to the Salvation Army. Now I know I'll no longer bother at this Arc's. The manager was so dismissive. read more

First, I shop all the Arc's Value Village Thrift Stores in the Twin Cities. The other three stores are great -- good prices, good merchandise, and great staff and volunteers. I always feel good shopping there. I wish I could say the same about the New Hope store. The prices are higher than the other three stores. I'm okay with that, my problem is with the way different customers are treated differently. Clearly, this is a thrift store run by upper-middle class people for other upper-middle class people. I've seen the manager barter prices down for well-dressed, older white women and refuse to do the same with customers who do not look like her. I've just left this store too many times feeling "smarmy" about what I've seen or overheard. I'll stick with the other stores that better reflect ARC's organizational goals and mission. Shopping here makes me sad. read more

I have donated items to Arc's for twenty plus years. I have shopped there on and off for the same amount of time. When they first opened, there was a 'no returns' policy. Recently, I noticed a customer return an item, so when I purchased a $40.00 coat(seriously, it has to be very special to pay that much in a thrift store for a 'used' coat), I asked the clerk if I could return the coat if I decided I didn't want it.. She said yes, but within 7 days as long as I was a 'rewards' card holder. End of conversion. I tried to return the coat today(a bit to small). I returned it, they asked for my name, and the store manager hands me a return receipt and told me I now had a store credit for $40. I said no, I paid with my cash card, and I wanted it back on my card. Of course not! I am outraged. Never heard of such a policy. Had I known, I would not have purchased the coat. I asked and wasn't given the full scoop--your clerks need training! So, how long will it take me to find $40 worth of goods worth purchasing in your store. The quality of merchandise has deteriorated and your prices have become increasingly higher over the years. No more donations from me and certainly, no good references to friends. There are plenty of other places to donate and shop! read more
