Today I visited the new location that opened TODAY 3/3/22 (3006 Texas Ave S, St Louis Park) -- great luck!! There's plenty of parking and the space is laid out beautifully. You can really see all the items and everywhere you turn, there's something new. My mom and I like to frequent this shop to see what's new, and I think we'll come even more now that there's a new location! Be sure to follow the owners Instagram (@retrowanderlust) to keep up with any sales she has or if she has changes to her schedule. I believe she's planning on doing a bit of e-commerce, so that will be fun to see as well! We've bought some dresser drawers from RW before, and today my mom picked up a beautiful large blue tablecloth for only $28. She also bought a concrete candle for $14. I'd say pieces are priced fairly -- sturdy and unique antiques are an investment! That said, I think there's something in this store for any budget, there's a wide range of pricing. I definitely recommend going to Retro Wanderlust, and now, even better -- it's in a fun part of St Louis Park. Make a fun day of it or just go to browse the fun collection and go home. I'll be back. Thanks Karen!

Was waiting for a shop around the corner to open and had twenty minutes to kill. Spotted this place…read morebecause of the bright neon outside the entrance, luring you in. I've got antique store in my blood (legitimately, not a turn of phrase: my paternal grandma used to own one), so I'm drawn to this kind of place, especially as thrifting/buying used is more environmentally-friendly (and we as a society desperately need to shift gears away from fast fashion). Immediately upon entry I glimpsed the signs that this place was inclusive of me and those like me. The pride flag, the genderless toilets marked humorously with "whatever" signs. I was drawn in. You can tell that a lot of the consignment owners put a good deal of effort into making each of their "cubicles" stand out and have individuality that matches their brand. Seeing as I was here at the tail end of September, that meant many of the booths were spooky-themed and/or had Halloween items for sale. Dangerous for anyone who's a fan of the holiday. I definitely plan to come back AFTER Halloween and see what Christmas decorations take their place! It'll probably feel like an entirely different experience dependent on the season! Anyway, the cool thing about a place like this (if you've never been to one) is that you don't have to worry about keeping track of which store you picked up what item from. They have tags on each item so the employee at the checkout counter can sort all that for you and collect a single amount from you to distribute appropriately among their consignment sellers. I noticed they have baskets you can grab to help you shop (also dangerous, lol) because this place is QUITE expansive and winding. Be sure to check around each nook and cranny to see it all! (But also keep in mind, stock will always be rotating, so there'll always be new things to see.) There's lots of clothes and apparel accessories, of course, but also lots of home decor items, media like books, CDs, VHS, records, etc., toys and more. Really you gotta go see it for yourself. You'll be wandering about in something akin to awe! I would say the prices are okay. This isn't a place you're going to find big bargains. But you won't get gouged either. It's a place to discover something from your childhood and reclaim it for a reasonable finder's fee, essentially. Long story short, I killed more than forty-five minutes here, well over what I needed, hahaha, and came out with a couple cute clown-themed things to add to my growing collection. Hooray! Also neat is that they have a coffee shop in the back that also serves things like pastries and sodas for a very reasonable price. This area is spacious with lots of seating; clearly it's meant as a place to gather and hangout with friends. They even had an NES set up on a TV to play if you wanted. Very queer-friendly. It probably deserves its own separate review.

She also makes some of the things in the shop, lamp shades and hats and maybe other things I don't know about. Very crafty lady, reflected in the curation of the shop itself. Largely decor/dish type items here but there's also some odds and ends you could grab for your own projects, like 25¢ old keys. I usually come away from here with just one treasure because they do have vintage rather than thrift prices. For example today I got a tea light holder with 3 hanging glass baskets for $26. I think that's pretty fair in this economy though, especially for a small business as lovely as this one.

First of all, I LOVE that the store is still owned and operated by E themselves. Amazing! They were at the cashier stand both times I came in. Second, I LOVE that this is a house outfitted to be a shop! It's sooo magical to see everything organized by theme or color coordination while wandering through the different rooms. Vintage kitchen goodies in the vintage kitchen?! Say less. Third, the prices are quite reasonable for the amazing quality and uniqueness!! It's such a well-curated shop, and deals around every corner. I got a bunch of stuff my first stop in, from macrame plant holders to art to bowls. I feasted my eyes on a vintage leather coffee table ($200) that I wanted for my space, and when I called a few weeks later, E confirmed it was still there so I came and got it. It's now one of my favorite pieces in my living room! I could come here every weekend (and find more to buy each time). I can't recommend this shop enough!

The workers were all nice and offered to let me put my items down while I shopped. Definitely a place to stop by if you're on the hunt for antiques or just enjoy browsing!

I went on a road trip with my dad from Wisconsin to Minnesota. Stopped off in downtown Hopkins to hit a few antique malls- The first was Hopkins Antique Mall. Overall the store was pretty good with a decent selection of many items. I eventually found a record I wanted to buy and proceeded to the checkout area up front. I was met with an elderly woman with a cocky attitude. The record I wanted to buy did not have a traditional tag with a price on it, the seller had written the price with pencil on the label of the record which was fine. I proceeded to show and explain to this elderly woman about the written price but she grabs the record from me and pulls the vinyl out of its jacket with no care at all and lays it down on the counter claiming "I know what I am doing, I do this a lot". The vinyl was still hanging out of its jacket as she's saying this and it was just waiting to get scratched. I am pretty sure her name is Lynda or Linda - very pushy ,demanding. If you want to deal with a know it all elderly woman when you check out ,then this is your place to shop.
