I've been donating & shopping here for 13yrs. There's new staffing in back. 2 guys dropped a large chair that I purchased, in my hatchback, that clearly wouldn't close and then walked off. I'm a senior female- they watched me struggle with it for 20 minutes- no help- I went back in and had to ask one of them to help me push it into the car, different direction to fit. I've about had it, as they ask for donation round up at the registar- I donate all the time (for there job security) and I'm a consistent customer. You can tell when the management is not doing there job or are not a good fit if they don't hire considerate staffing. read more

As far as goodwill's go this one is good. I could never give a goodwill five stars, but this one has better prices than most. I definitely prefer the small mom-and-pop thrift stores. But I managed to get some Christmas decorations for 50% off before Christmas, so I was happy with that. But they asked me if I wanted to round my total up to the nearest dollar to help with "job-training". Isn't that what I'm already doing by shopping here? I know that's a bunch of BS. read more

This store always seems to have something new all the time. I mainly shop here for books. They are reasonably priced and many are nearly brand new. Lots of other items to choose from to help your dollar stretch farther. Large, clean store with helpful and friendly employees. read more

This Goodwill is horrible!!! unfriendly, unwilling, and very unpleasant. I don't shop at Goodwill myself but I do donate to Goodwill. And I know lots of people who do shop there. After this visit I probably wont donate anymore. I think its a shame that people are willing to give them "free" items and yet Goodwill treats one with disrespect. They make tons of excuses why they cant help you but at the end of the day they are just excuses. I went to drop some items off and nobody, NOBODY would help me unload it. Nobody came to the drive-through from inside the store, When I did unload my own items a little ol man who didnt speak very much English got all mad and used probably the ony English words he knew to state his unwanted opinion. I am attempting to contact someone in corporate department who handles customer complaints. On Saturday, September 12th, 2015 I shopped at your 27077 MapleValley-Black Diamond Rd SE Maple Valley, WA 98038 location. Upon checking out I explained to my cashier, Elizabeth whom had a very professional looking hickey on her neck, that I am recovering from foot surgery and needed to get home to rest. I asked her what the return policy was because I was hoping to try on the clothes at home and if any of them did not fit I wanted to know I could return them. Elizabeth informed me that I would get my money back as long as I had the receipt and the tags were not removed. I specifically asked her if I would be receiving cash or a return on my debit card and she informed me I could do whichever would be easiest for me. Out of 12 items purchased 4 items did not fit properly and I returned to the same Maple Valley store on Sunday, September 13th 2015, about 11 in the morning to return those 4 items. The cashier was very friendly and processed my returns but then I was taken aback when she said I would be receiving my return as store credit. I expressed how an employee and informed me else wise just the night prior and that I wished to speak with a manager. I ended up speaking with Greg who appeared to have absolutely zero empathy and completely disregarded my complaints in terms of having employees of your company sell me merchandise under false pretenses. Instead of handling a customer service issue in a professional way I felt Greg was accusing me of trying to steel as he stated to me, in front of other customers in line, that he cant prove I didnt take tags off of clothes and reattach them to my clothes to try and make a quick buck!! Are you serious?? I purchased 12 items from your not even 24 hours prior and am attempting to return FOUR because YOUR EMPLOYEE assured me that I could return said items should they not suit my needs and get MY MONEY BACK AS CASH OR DEBIT provided I do so with seven days and tags are still attached. This has been a horrible experience and as someone who was worked in retail and customer service my entire life I can not believe the lack of respect towards your customers. Has horrible drop off process. Go to the Seattle location. After waiting 30 mins wouldn't take 90% of our furniture.

If you want to pay retail for second hand furniture and deal with rude employees this is the place to go! If you're shopping for good deals in thrift, avoid this location and head to the one in Kent or the Renton highlands. Much better variety and not managed by someone who's "married to an antique dealer who knows their stuff." What a joke read more

Ok so today I broke down so me and my boyfriend could get a few things for our cosplay costumes. Still over priced. Every shirt we looked at was either 6.99 or 8.99 no lower or in between. So here is the kicker. We are in check out and me and my boyfriend saw a altoid container labeled in permanent pen "Jose's Mexican hard candy" We both looked at each other and I said what the #&*! is that??? I said I am opening it. I tried to convince him to take the initiative but he refused. Biggest mistake of my life and worst life decision. There was molded cat poop in there. I pretty much screamed and threw it back in the candy section where it came from. My advise is to never buy candy from there lol. Me and two other customers laughed for about 15 minutes while waiting to check out. A big thanks to Jose. At least the checker threw some hand sanitizer my way. I can't even explain the smell. The checker said someone has been doing this for some time. Don't open anything saying Jose's Mexican hard candy best advise. The cat poop remained in the candy section when we left. My biggest regret was not only opening it but not taking a picture. Still washing my hands every ten seconds. Ohhh and sadly they had no black ties for our costumes. read more

Seems silly how much they charge for certain items. I stopped going as it made more sense just to buy the stuff new. Also had an employee tell me to get out of the dressing room since I hadn't asked. She told me while I was undressed and kept telling me to get out, she was jiggling the lock and I emerged still getting back into my clothes. I was with my toddler which is why it was taking longer than usual. Previous times I had asked and they never counted the items so I just went in. It was super awkward and very embarrassing. I figure it's not worth my time to be berated and to pay 50% of the original cost for used items. I would not recommend this store. Another time I found a print I liked and another employee told me that they couldn't sell it because it was missing the tag. I asked if they could get a manager to price it because I really wanted it and they said no and that it had to go to inventory. So bizarre!! read more

The store is well stocked enough to the point where I can always find what I'm looking for, the furniture they have in stock is also pretty high quality, so if you are willing to do a little digging you can find what you want. read more

Called a few days ago to ask if they accept furniture. Was told they do, but only when they have room, so they recommended calling first to make sure they have room available before bringing it by. My wife called this afternoon to ask if there was room and was told yes, feel free to bring it over. I loaded the furniture in my vehicle and drove down to Goodwill. Two workers in the back tell me they will not accept the furniture because they do not have the room. At this point I ask for a manager and I'm told there is no manager on duty. I proceed to tell them my wife called 15 minutes ago to ask about this exact issue, why now are we being told something different after loading everything up and driving it down. One of the kids starts chuckling as he tells me "It was probably someone in the front of the store, and they aren't too smart". After I tell them I plan on leaving the couch they start mumbling something about taking down my license plate number, soon they mention I'll have to speak to the supervisor. I say great, as I wonder why a few minutes ago they didn't offer to let me speak to him. The supervisor was a nice enough guy but no help at all. If you take the time to call ahead and ask if something will be accepted, it should be the responsibility of the store to honor their word. Someone up front who is "not too smart" is not good enough. After putting up with picky donation workers for years, this is the last straw for me. I'm officially done with this company. I'm sure I can find someone else to accept free stuff without all the hassle. I encourage all to do the same. read more
