I want to be clear that I've had generally positive experiences at this store and usually enjoy shopping here. That said, my most recent visit was negatively impacted by the behavior of one employee, and it was significant enough to warrant this review. I visited within the final hour before closing. During that time, an employee repeatedly walked through the store loudly announcing the time and how much time customers had left to shop. This was not an occasional reminder--it was ongoing, disruptive, and made the shopping environment uncomfortable. I was not the only customer who felt this way; I spoke with other shoppers who independently agreed the behavior was inappropriate and unnecessary. The situation escalated when I checked my phone to confirm the time. The employee then muttered, "this mutha f**a thinks I'm playing."* I was the only customer in that aisle, making it reasonable to believe the comment was directed toward me. When I calmly attempted to ask whether the comment was meant for me, the employee avoided the interaction and quickly walked away toward the front of the store. This conduct reflects unprofessional behavior, poor customer service, and a failure to maintain a respectful shopping environment. Time reminders can be communicated professionally without intimidation, hostility, or verbal disrespect. One employee should not be able to diminish an otherwise positive store experience. Until this issue is addressed, I would recommend that customers avoid shopping here during the hour before closing if they do not want to feel rushed or uncomfortable read more

I haven't been to a whole lot of Value Villages, so I don't know if they are usually this clean and organized. But I was pleasantly surprised to see how clean and organized this store was!! Miscellaneous toys were neatly put in plastic bags, jeans were neatly folded and hung on the racks, and everything just was organized so well! They had a great selection of clothes and housewares...I came out with 5 Minecraft shirts for my 7 year old and he was so excited about them!! I will be coming here for my thrifting from here on out! However, the self check-out station seemed like a disaster. We waited way too long for help and should've just went through the regular check-out line. Kinda ruined our visit here. read more

Dropped by looking for a couple of specific items (try that for will power - walk in and walk out ONLY with what you came in for lol). Hoped for a bit more holiday stuff (for St. Patrick's) but it really has nothing to do with them and everything to do with what is donated. I will say there are a ton of culturally diverse curios in the first couple of rows. And tons of clothes. You just have to choose wisely. Some are worn and old and some look good. When my daughter and I came to buy her some pants, we asked if there was a changing room. Two staff members near the checkout responded saying that there were not any changing rooms, but that we could return the items that didn't fit within 14 days. I came back to return the items that didn't fit within that time period only to be told I could not return them! Things can only be exchanged for other items within the store. That is so frustrating to me, because I was given completely false information. It was not only a waste of my time, but a waste of money, neither of which I have to spare. read more

Today was my last time shopping at a Value Village. I've watched in sadness as prices have risen, the dressing rooms were not brought back after Covid, and the return policy was changed from 30 to 14 days. Still, I would shop there from time to time. Today, I went to exchange clothes and entered the store with the clothes in a bag. I've done this many times before and never had any issue. A woman immediately came over to me and asked me what was in my bag. I told her clothes that I would be exchanging and she told me the bag would need to remain at the front of the store. I glanced over and saw numerous women shopping with purses, some of which were larger than my bag. I told the woman that I wouldn't leave the bag at the front of the store and was told by her that I couldn't enter the store with it. This was the final straw for me. I do not trust leaving anything at the front of any VV and won't be returning. Honestly, their prices have gotten so expensive that it's not far off from non-thrift stores now. When you take into consideration all of the other hurdles they've put in place, just isn't worth it anymore. I'll spend a little bit more for the luxury of having the ability to try clothes on in the store and 30 days to return something. read more

Sadly my favorite thrift store across the street Salvation Army is closing and the Goodwill nearby also leaves a lot to be desired so I may be done with thrift stores in Tukwila in total. read more

I often go to various Thrift stores these days. The purpose is to look for used flowerpots and vases. It's also the gardening season, and you'll find affordable items in the Thrift store. So I visited here today. It was a weekday afternoon, but there were quite a few customers. I couldn't find the pots and vases I wanted, but I found a unique glass and decided to buy it. We came too late and closer to closing time. Oh boy, if I had more time in here to shop, I probably would have come back with a whole lotta stuff. We picked up something during our travel and we found exactly what we needed. The price point was great. Some items though were overpriced and I saw a lot of items that were $15.99 - but I suppose you win and you lose because some items were we low as $2 and something cents (such a bargain!) The staff was so kind at the cashier. Managers were friendly and attentive. The employees were so gracious to us for visiting. An assistant manager/employee was so kind when I asked about a local restaurant in the area that I wasn't familiar with, he was so eager and really talked me through how I would get there. They had a lot of good clothes for decent prices. I had to check my backpack which meant I had to carry my wallet and cell phone while i shopped...it wasn't easy since I was wearing leggings and a tank top I had no where to put my wallet and cell phone. I had to leave with just two items but I wanted a few things. I guess the area isn't used to tourist like downtown Seattle. They see a backpack, they must think theft. The backpack was my purse and to carry the items back to the hotel. Changing rooms at the moment weren't open and the return policy is just an exchange for the same amount or more. read more

UNBELIEVABLY HIGH PRICES!! They definitely don't put the "value" in Value Village. 99% of the time you will find something and look it up on eBay or Amazon and it is WAY cheaper on there. That shouldn't happen in places where they get all their goods donated. I am talking regular shirts $15, had a Seahawks jersey of Percy Harvin they were trying to get $40 for. Percy Harvin's own mom wouldn't pay that price. I always walk in and walk out empty handed not even contemplating taking out my 401k to afford this "value". Selection is usually fair. However things that used to be priced fairly is like ten times what it used to be. A water damaged paper wall scroll is thirty dollars for why? Everything keeps sitting on the shelf cause no one can afford buying used things at new prices. If I wanted to spend thirty dollars on a wall decoration I'll buy it new. read more

This seems like a Mega Value Village. Maybe it's just the layout or maybe b/c it's an almost brand new store or maybe its the lighting, but this place is pretty big. There was quite a selection of all sorts of merch. There wasn't hardly any clothes partially hanging off hangers or on the floor...which you sometimes see in these type of establishments. I was surprised by the capacity of the men's clothes and shoes. I know a lot of Value Villages seem like they are downsizing men's to make room for other things, but there were so many men's clothes. And if the Halloween section wasn't there, there would probably be even more. I'm glad I can get go to half price books, Value village and get pho all in the same shopping center. read more

Came here to check if they had my Hallmark Christmas Santa available and they did...for a cheaper price! The Santa I wanted was $9.99 and I thought I had already purchased it previously but when I flew back home and was putting up my Santa ornaments I realized I do not have this individual Santa so now I'm back it's the 14th of January stopped in hopefully hoping that they still have him and lo and behold not only do they have him but they have another one available (I don't have)and the price has been marked down to $4.99 each!!! Fabulous thrift store! Prices are higher here than at most other thrift stores, even at other Value Villages. I think it's the location, being close to the Southcenter Mall. That said, they have a lot of great finds and there is always the specific colored tag of the day where everything tagged that color is 50% off. There is a large selection of clothing here. They also have a lot of books and jewelry for a thrift store. I came in with my boyfriend to see if they had any musical instruments as we're working on an art project, but there weren't any except for Rock Band guitars. He ended up buying a package of brand new CD-R's for $1 and I found a fabulous ring for $8. They have a punch card, but they never advertise it. I always have to ask for it and a couple times, I've been told they don't do it anymore. However, they do. They need to inform their staff better on what is going on. What is good is that, while shopping, you still have access to the restrooms. Prices are still okay. The pushback I have is with their return policy. I was totally okay with not getting cash back but having what I spent and whatever was returning showing up as a refund on a card to only be used at value village. Now, if you want to return something, you carry it around with you until you can find something that you can exchange it with. That's a pain in the tush. Totally dislike their new return policy. Also don't like that they still have not brought back the fitting rooms. They are quickly losing me as a return customer. And I have really liked them in the past. read more

I normally don't share when I find a good thrift store...but this Value Village is worth a stop. It is huge...a converted Toys R Us. The prices are high, typical of Value Village, and they will err to the side of overpricing something than risk letting something "valuable" go cheap. The housewares and smalls are fun hunting. The clothes selection is huge. Perplexingly, the linens section is rather wimpy. It's recently come to my attention that Value Village - which has always been privately owned and FOR PROFIT - has cut back further on how much it donates to charity. The Manager seemed like a good person...dealing with a lot during the pandemic. However, the psycho lady greeting you when you come in looks like she wants to kill you for coming in forty mins. before they close. Then I walk in and TONS OF PEOPLE ARE NOT WEARING MASKS and then when the Manager tells this guy, he says "It fell off". IT FELL OFF MY ASS. They SHOULD NOT BE LETTING MURDERERS WHO DO NOT WEAR MASKS COME IN AT ALL. These same people came up on my ass and b/c I ran from one guy, I broke a snow globe accidentally that fell out of my cart. I hardly bought any items, but the cashier at the front said instead of bags, she would get me a box and I thought she meant a gift box for fragile items. I don't typically shop at Value Village because it's a for-profit store and the prices are higher than other thrift stores, but occasionally I'll stop in just to see what's there. I had avoided this location because it's near the crazy Southcenter mess, but on a weekday, getting in and out of the parking lot isn't too bad. This store used to be a Toys R Us, so you can imagine how large and big-boxy it is. It's well-lit and pretty clean and organized, with lots of long racks of clothing, mainly women's. As expected, the prices tended to be a few dollars higher than you'd see for the same type of item at, say, Goodwill, but I did notice several affordably priced women's cashmere sweaters ($10 or so). Value Village has colored-tag discounts, so if you can take advantage of that, you might actually score a bargain! I still can't shake my anti-Value-Village bias, though. I was there right before the holidays, and at the front of the store they had a "make your own ugly Xmas sweater" station, with plain sweaters and baggies of ornaments and decorations to purchase and pin onto the sweater. It just felt so corporate and slick, right down to the signage, and it left me with a bad taste in my mouth. For donated and used items, they sure want a lot of money for them. We only come here when we are stopping next door at Half Price Books. Haven't actually bought anything; would rather hunt elsewhere to find it cheaper. We usually just shop for books here and they do not rotate inventory often. The only positive I have to say about this place is it's decently clean and organized. We've come in a few times 10-15 minutes before closing and they've already locked the doors, just a heads up. read more

This is a huge Value Village located in the shopping haven known as Southcenter. There is everything here, from books to games to kitchenware to clothes to shoes to Halloween costumes... everything. There is a lot of clothing here but I wasn't particularly impressed with what they had here. I saw a lot of Forever 21-esque items and they seemed a bit ratty. Prices are cheap though, most items were $10 or less. But I would much rather pay a little more for a similar item, new! The bags were interesting. There are a lot of small wallets and bags and the like. I did manage to find a Kipling crossbody bag for only $3. Probably one of my better thrift store finds. read more

I used to love thrifting here and would spend hours roaming every part of the store. I fortunately I won't be shopping here as often due to the removal of the fitting rooms. You have two weeks to return okay I get that but only getting in store credit for items that didn't fit you doesn't seem right to me. Just so I can buy some more clothes that don't end up fitting? This thrift store is the most convenient I've found for donating items. It's literally 5 minutes off of I-5 and 405, even in bad traffic. I just throw whatever I am going to donate in my car and stop by Value Village to donate them while I'm in the area. The donation center is on the right side of the store if you're looking straight at the store from the parking lot. You don't even have to get out of your car if you don't want to! Their attendant will unload anything you want to donate, and then afterwards will give you a tax write off form. If you donate enough items, you can even score up to 30% off your next purchase! I love the clothing selection here, but if an item doesn't have a price tag, they won't sell it - and I found a nice vintage camera that was in really good condition. Hard to find, y'know? The drive up is really easy and there is always a nice person taking my stuff. I walked up this time, rang the door bell and still, the guy was really nice. There is even a sign posted on where the items go and what places they donate too. Very nice. My co-hort and I were specifically looking for shoes. Ok, she was looking for shoes, I was looking for a top. She and I both found shoes and then it was to the tops. I was looking for a specific style, color and price. GUESS WHAT I FOUND?! Exactly what I was looking for. It was like the thrift gods were smiling on me! The cashier proceeded to tell us that they have a punch card, WHAT?!
