I could probably buy a new set of 4 for that price at Target. $.50 is very reasonable and I would say at goodwill, that is the starting price of a mug and they do go up from there. This place made me happy, because everything here was nice and useable, and the prices were undeniable. There were a couple sour faces in the crowd and the women with the Trump case on her phone appeared to be unhappy with my dark complexion in her community, but guess what, I don't care. What does matter if my money is green, so be thankful I a spending both time and money in your community.

Today however, I met a woman who was more interested in turning away donations than appreciating them. Leather powered recliner turned away for slight discoloration on headrest. Matching bed frame and dresser "well is there any damage" she says with a tone. What are you looking for, people to donate new furniture??? I truly thought I was donating for a good cause to support an establishment my family has worked for and who I believe are doing gods work. One bad apple spoils the bunch and I for one won't be back as a donator or customer.

At the same time, the people here were probably the friendliest I have encountered. My issue has been and continues to be consistency with Goodwill. Clearly inventory will vary as is comes from the community, but there was a time when Goodwill was also good value and as many have reported, I can concur, too many items cost too much. If you can get new Adidas sweat pants at the outlet for $20, why would a thrift store sell a well used pair for $13? In my opinion, used should always be half as much as new in a thrift shop for any currently available retail item and when it comes to clothes that are tattered, worn and discolored, even less. Also when you can get a nice drinking glass for $1 at Dollar Tree, why are you charging $3 for a used glass? Some locations have a flat fee of $.69 on glassware and I think that is a fair price considering even if it's something collectable like beer branded glass, no one is donated that glass unless the artwork is faded, scratched or imperfect. I don't know who's responsible for pricing, but Goodwill needs to return to the days where everything was a value. They do great work in our communities and every purchase supports the rehabilitation and restoration of its people, but when you have an eBay page and charge some of the prices you do, it appears you have gone from giving to greedy and that's a bad look for a business that didn't build a reputation on greed. The community has given so much to Goodwill that they are finding it hard to keep up with donations, another reason to not take advantage of shoppers with prices. The Bellevue location should put of a banner, "Powered By Nordstrom's" The only thing missing from that location was a Cafe, because every price was as close to retail as you can get. I'm finding it much harder to donate or shop with them knowing how perverted the pricing has become.

I…read moretried to plead with the gentleman about allowing me to drop off because I was on carpool duty and he said he wasn't able to do it. I then moved my stuff to make room for school pick up, he then came out giving me a dirty look and pointing up - at a camera or something. I hadn't left anything and was simply trying to make room for the kids. I decided to call the store because I didn't appreciate the interaction. The interaction with the women that answered the phone (maybe the store manager) was worse. I was just explaining how frustrating it is to not be able to donate but explained I understand why. She became VERY defensive and instead of apologizing for the inconvenience she decided to disconnect the call. I will admit I called back just to close the loop and thanked her (multiple times) and she was still very defensive and told me she doesn't believe that they are always closed and I can go to other locations. I didn't feel like going rounds so I decided to end the call. She called me immediately back said something and hung up on me. It didn't need to escalate to this degree, I work in customer service and delivery is everything. It's disappointing, but will now take donations to other locations or Value Village - who always is open for donations and I have only ever had positive interactions.

Unfortunately today we came in 10 minutes before closing time to browse as I had a bridal shower coming up this weekend. The sales associate with gray hair proceeds to tell me "you got five minutes" in this kind of annoyed flat tone. I had some things in my hand to try on, but as I hurried into the dressing room, all desire to actually purchase anything flew right out the window. I understand that at the end of the day you wanna go home after work, but the store was not closed yet, and the experience left a sour taste in my mouth.

We went on small business Saturday and everything was 40% off. We have a large family so we love finding deals on lightly used clothes. The store offers space on consignment to others. Each space is it's own little 'shop' and each item tagged with the price and vendor number. I saw some very nice older quilts and other household linens like pillow cases, doilies and what not. There are plenty of glasses, license plates, toys, records, metal goods, kitchen wares, jewelry. A bit of everything. The staff were pleasant. The store can be a bit overwhelming. You really have to 'look' carefully to see it all. You could spend a few minutes or a couple of hours. Out front they had a grocery cart holding the door open filled with 'free' treats. On this date, lemon pies that were approaching their expiration date.
