Corvallis is such a cool place with a diverse population, so I'm always curious to see what I might be able to find. Thrift stores in college towns are full of surprises and discarded treasures amidst semester shifts. This store has a section dedicated to both University of Oregon and Oregon State collegiate wear, convenient for new students and alumni. If you need storage, there are usually dorm and moving essentials on hand, such as totes, easy to assemble shelves and drawers. There is also a better selection of clothing, footwear, outerwear and accessories (purses, backpacks, hats, and jewelry) here thanks to the evolving student body. If you need a book for a class, their shelves are bursting in all genres. I found a beautiful Indigenous children's book, a handful of modern Little Golden Books; including Dolly Parton, Elvis, and The Golden Girls, and several vintage The Far Side books by Gary Larson. Everything I purchased was in like new condition. I'm sure the Portland Leather clutch ($8) will be a nice gift for a dear friend, that is, if I don't keep it for myself! read more

I like to come here to look for candles. I found one yesterday. My daughter found a skull glass jar to put her makeup brushes in. She also found a precious moments figurine, it was missing something from it but it was half off. My daughter found a scrub top for my Mom, which was really sweet. I agree with other yelpers, some of the prices are higher than the original price of items. But sometimes you can find a good deal and it's fun to look for the certain color tag that is half off. read more

Overall a terrible store with nothing to offer the average shopper who is looking for second hand store prices. They have a very skewed idea of what things are worth, and it's generally a complete waste of time to even step food inside this place. Save your time and money and shop elsewhere. While the store is clean and organized with a wide selection of items, the prices are way too high for second hand items, especially when Goodwill gets its merchandise free from donations. Some of the prices are more than the original price from when the item was new! It's astounding what Goodwill charges for used stuff and exploitive of its customer base, many who are financially strapped. You're better off shopping at Walmart, Ross, TJ Maxx, and any other thrift store for better merchandise and pricing. Shame on Goodwill for exploiting customers. Shop elsewhere. read more

Horrible! They reject good furniture if "disassembled". Somebody should tell these idiots that seperating a computer station base from the top isn't disassembled. My husband showed these rubes 4 screws to attached this furniture. Base was already assembled, so was the top. We weren't able to fit the entire piece assembled in the back of our SUV so we seperated the top hutch from the base...4 screws. This is about the 3rd really nice piece of furniture they rejected. Won't be donating anything to that dump ever again. read more

This is a Goodwill Superstore. I didn't even know there was such a thing. It's like a Ross; in fact, they've copied Ross' layout and it totally works. I could have spent all day in this store, there's so much to look at. Unfortunately, I only had a couple of hours. My boyfriend and I found cross-country skis with boots, something we've been looking for, and I scored on a couple of dresses that fit me and are super flattering. I can't remember walking into ANY store and finding more than one dress that fit me. Amazing. There are only a few dressing rooms and there was a line much of the time. There aren't enough people working but the people who are, are very helpful and friendly overall. It's kept pretty neat and most of the employees were busy putting things back the entire time. The stuff isn't dirty, either. I've been to Goodwill's in Los Angeles where you leave with black hands. Not here! They have a big selection of curtains and comforters, all nicely hung and sorted by color. The clothing was actually sorted by color, style AND size. Very impressed. There are a lot of clothes and books and housewares. Not too much furniture but a few things. Prices are pretty good with most things topping out around $12 and low end items hovering around $2. Big parking lot though it was nearly full when we were here. This is also a drop off center. As an added bonus, there's a Habitat for Humanity store on the corner for your furniture needs. This is the first goodwill I've gone to and I don't plan on going to another. prices were decent but still a little high when I first moved to the area, since then prices have raised by a couple $$ depending on what you're looking at. They try to sell furniture for the sale price, and same with clothes. Sometimes you can find an ok deal but it's realistically cheaper to go buy new. Or the rip off of the working classes and the young adults in college?? We stopped in at this store while visiting friends in Corvallis. The store is generally clean and well-organized, although the kids section is kind of chaos (maybe kids are constantly messing it up). They have a good selection of adult clothes, housewares and linens. Not too many infant/toddler clothes at the time of writing. Lots of books in good condition and they do a good job of displaying holiday decorations on the ends of aisles. My only beef with this store is the massive increase in prices I have witnessed over the 10 years I lived in Corvallis. My husband purchased a button up shirt yesterdayy and it cost $10! You could buy a new shirt at Ross or TJMaxx at that price. Most shirts run $7 or more (unless they are the colored tag sale items) and pants are as much or more. The kids clothes were often more than $3 for one piece. At the thrift store near my home in CA, 0-24 mth clothes are $0.25. I don't mind paying a little more, but their prices seem to be approaching that of discount retailers that sell new clothes. I suppose if people pay it, they can charge it...but I would consider looking elsewhere unless you're buying a name brand. read more

One of mine and wife's favorite place to stop by on Sundays. We have purchased few books and few other items for our garden. They did have some unopened electronic items at times. I will not buy clothes or furniture, but would stop here to explore for other households and books which were always on good shape. Price is mostly comparable to other thrift stores in the area. read more

Eh. Whenever I find myself in a small town (especially ones with a respectable number of seniors with vintage clothing at their disposal), I make it a point to peruse their local thrift stores. They're not as picked through as your standard Buffalo Exchange and you tend to get some pretty great deals. A Goodwill in Corvallis seemed like the low hanging fruits my wardrobe needed... but alas, it fell short of awesome by a wide margin. It's hard to really complain - they had all sorts of books, some sporting goods, knick-knacks, etc... but their clothing section left a lot to be desired. It was basically nothing but old Beavers gear and castaways from a TJ Max surplus sale. Wamp wamp. If you're expecting an epic leather fringe jacket or some pair of retro mom jeans - you're not going to find it here. read more

I love spending hours here! The store is very well organized and the staff is always ready to answer questions. The only issue I ever had was with pricing. All items they have from the Dollar Tree are anywhere from $1-$3. If it comes used from the dollar store it should be 50 cents max. Other than that, you can always score a come-up! Last week I got a pair of new Coach shoes for $10, a desk for $15, and a crystal vase for $3. What a score! read more

This place is rediculous!! I can't believe how much they charge for used items, especially clothes! I was looking at a tv there, it was $75.00, I asked an attendant how well the tv worked, if it worked and if I could plug it in to make sure it worked and how good the picture was. The attendant told me that they are tested before they are put on the floor and that if it didn't work after I got home then I could return it for....... store credit!! Are you serious???? What makes you think that I'm going to want to spend more money in the store after getting home with a $75 tv that doesn't work! That is the most rediculous thing I've heard. The fact they won't refund your money says a lot to me. I will no longer shop or donate to the Good Will!! I also can't believe the prices they charge for used and donated clothes! 3 years ago I would have given this Goodwill 5 stars. Since then, Goodwill opened their online auction site, and this store is a major feeder to the store in Hillsboro. The amount of quality products this store now has, is close to zero. Most of the good items are now skimmed off the top and shipped to their online store in Hillsboro. You may still find a nugget every once in a while, but they are few and far between. Being in a university town, this store gets great donations including nice electronics, sporting goods, kitchen stuff and clothes. You used to be able to find the occasional piece of high end lab equipment, calculators, designer jeans and jackets, and other great stuff. Now, they mostly have broken coffee pots, wrangler jeans, and solar powered calculators. If you're passing by, it is still worth a stop. If you are planning to make a drive to this store, don't bother. If you are donating items, and want them to stay in the local community, consider giving them to St. Vinnie's in Albany. They still sell what they collect locally. read more

I've been a steady customer for 10 years and have found many wonderful things. A couple of times in those 10 years I've found groups of items and asked if I could get a discount if I bought them all. The discount wasn't a lot -!but every bit helps. Today I found a collection of small rugs that were actually overpriced so I asked the same question and the current manager said no, we can't do that. I know better and I don't like being lied to. So he can keep his rugs and I will spend my usual twice a week shopping checking out other thrift shops in the area. read more

My Aunt's and I spend quite a bit "treasure hunting" in thrift stores. You never know what you will be able to find in one of these! As far as the layout, it's pretty nice, but the shelves are chaos. The one thing that really gets me about this Goodwill is the pricing. It's a thrift store. I saw something last night for $2.99 for something I had seen in the dollar tree earlier that evening. I also found a rubber stamp for $7.99 that you can purchase online new for $10. Yes, $8 is cheaper, but it is used. A few items I brought up didn't have a price tag. In the past, they would have just given me a price that was reasonable. Now they have to call back for a price check, someone takes it into the back, and brings it out with a price tag - usually expensive. I think they would make more money if they lowered the prices. More sales, less chaos on the shelves. On the upside, all of the employees that I encounter are pleasant, respectful, and easy to deal with. read more

Great place to shop for growing kids. My teen was not wanting to go in, but was being nice so came along to make mom happy. He ended up bumping into some school pals and finding four items that have become staples in his wardrobe. Very nice, trendy pair of jeans for 19.95. Two shirts for 6.00 each. One was the tag special color of the day. And a second pair of choir pants from Banana Republic for 12.99. All for around the price of the two shirts new at clearance prices. Love it! read more

This place is definitely expensive for a thrift store, but it's a great place to get brand new items that stores like Target couldn't sell because of damaged packaging and the like. I got a brand new huge rug for $60, which is certainly much more than I thought I would spend on a rug at Goodwill, but would likely have sold for $120 at the original store. Similarly, I paid $100 for an unused vacuum in a beat up box because it was actually the same vacuum cleaner I had been thinking of buying online for $190. I haven't had any luck with the clothes, and the used home goods are so so, but the new, quality items you can stumble upon here make this a regular stop for me. read more
