Over the past six months, we have found a lot of treasures. I have been able to get several sweaters to wear at work, as well as a variety collared Oxford shirts, many from high quality and durable brands. We've added a few small bowls and several pieces of cutlery to our dishes. Our VHS library has expanded to cover most of our childhood favorites, and a few new favorites, like the silent film The Lost World. We even snagged a small TV with built-in VCR completely unused (informational stickers and immaculate remote as well!) for $9.99. After months of looking for an XBox Guitar Hero controller online, we bumped into at Goodwill (only $4.99) and have been having a great time putting it to use. The staff are pleasant, helpful and always willing to lend a hand. Their interactions with aggressive and confrontational customers are held with grace and respect. Good place to get HDTVs and CD albums on the cheap. I collect a lot of old CDs so this place has many old classics that the big box places don't have. Occasionally they'll have a Blu-ray movie or two. read more

Clean and well-organized. Very busy. Ample parking. They are pricey on some things. Decent deals on others. I am not fond of their check out process where you do not approach the cashier until she beckons you. There are a lot of people with kids running around. The piped in Goodwill network music is way too loud. Both are annoying. They do recognize the Yelp deal. A definite plus. read more

My mother and I came in today to see what kind of thrift store treasures we could find. Mostly looking for kids winter clothes. The place was busy and the mess was studiously being picked up after by a very nice woman with dark short hair. My mother asked a man there what the price was on a set of saki vessels; however, he promptly removed them from her hands and said they would be re-priced in 24 hours and stormed off to the back. The nice woman that had been helping us saw my mood change as I put everything back. I told her she was great but he just lost all of our business. No one treats my mother with such rude disrespect and still retains the opportunity to receive any of my money. I'll never go back there and I will tell my thrifty shopper friends about the surrounding stores with polite management. read more

This is the best goodwill ever; begining by their staff up front counter and help in the back furniture. Amazing displacement, extra help and found exactly what I needed. Salvation Army down the road; prices close to macys;;; come on, pleasee. Drop a couple of dollars and believe me, theyll be in business. Best about visiting; "everything". read more

This donation site is horrible. I was downsizing and had been donating many items to this location. One trip, I pulled up and an employee named Robert approached in a huff. I had the donation boxes in the trunk and he began to put his hands in the boxes. He pulled out two antique candle wall sconces with crystal prisms and then slammed them back into the box and stated that Goodwill does not accept electrical lighting fixtures. I quickly informed him that they were wall sconces, non-electrical, and candles were to be used with them. He actually chipped one of the prisms. I asked for the supervisor, Female African American, who came over to me with even a worse attitude and she did nothing. No apology, and she even snickered at me. I had been donating for many many years, never again! read more

They periodically will refuse to take a type of item, when their website says this item is acceptable. This has happened to us several times. This is a nuisance, especially if one is going to go shopping and needs the trunk space... When I pointed out that this was contrary to what they said on their website, the employee became rude, almost belligerent. And the manager said that they never take this type of item (board games last time), when their website says otherwise. read more

This location has an easy to drive thru drop off area, but I'm shocked how much stuff is left outside. I'm not sure if they are short staffed or what but there are heaps of items left out and because of this, this location is quite selective at what they take. I had 2 chairs that were still in good condition; however one chair had a stain. They were hesitant to take it but reluctantly they did because they saw how much trouble it took to fit them into my car. read more

I used to shop at this Goodwill all the time. I went on Tuesdays when they used to have ALL clothing 25% off that day so I could plan my visit timing and get something off what I wanted -- even new items they just put out. BUT NOW -- they discount ONLY the color tags that have been on the floor for ages that nobody wanted when they were first put out. So basically they only discount the junk that nobody has wanted in over a week. No more senior discount either. Also the quality of the merchandise has really gone downhill -- no more new with tags clothing -- all poor quality - stained. REALLY not worth going anymore. They need to go back to the discount days for product lines (i.e. clothes Tues, Furniture another day, etc) I imagine the veterans miss the day when everything was discounted for them. This was my first thrift store, but I have seen thrifting videos online. From former knowledge, the store was alright. The associates were okay, but not the best. The store was a bit messy and the associates did not really pay attention to the line. I waited in-front of nobody for 4 minutes at the least. Also, the selection was alright. There were Levis jeans here and there. But the pricing was very high. I don't 100% recommend this goodwill. But i will continue to go to other goodwills read more

If you are on a tight budget you will want to check out Goodwill for deals. Certainly the clothing is limited, especially in the men's department. In women's there is a much greater selection. If you are looking for every day jeans and shirts there are many to choose from. Be sure to check each item for flaws and wear - some are better than others. And also ALWAYS try everything on to make sure it fits right. The marked size is good but not definitive. If I'm looking for something specific I probably won't find it in my size, but if I'm flexible I'll find something to buy. Sometimes it takes several trips over time to find a specific item. The store is clean but messy. The changing rooms are adequate although you may need help to access them. If you have extra time and are willing to search you may find some good deals to supplement your wardrobe. And watch for the discount days for extra savings. Shopping at Goodwill is not for everyone but I like to buy and donate to support them. read more

I was a frequent shopper and dedicated customer of the GOODWELL store located on Frederick Rd, Gaithersburg, MD - until today. Not only has the interior of the store become dirty and unkempt, the employees are rude and dismissive. There was a time when the displays above the racks looks like something from a high end store - now, nothing and what is there appears to have been lazily placed. 3 years ago I was a 2 or 3 times a month shopper, but in recent months, the store has declined so badly, I rarely shop there anymore. Today I found two framed pictures that were obscenely overpriced, so I assumed the price was for both vs only one - since they appeared to be a pair or a set. I spoke to THREE managers - each of who dismissed me, gave me zero assistance and even laughed at the prospect of discounting, re-pricing or even advising when they may be on 50% off sale. As a regular consumer, I receive emails from Goodwill frequently and am aware that there are certain days when items are on special or the prices have been lowered. Framed art, very similar to the pictures mentioned above, are available at Target for the same price and lower. BYE GOODWILL. I was there today and I am never coming back. RUDE staff! I Took 2 purses in a tote on the floor, and when I turned around a staff (older male) demanded that I put the purses back because "a customer needs it". I was so embarrassed, it felt like I was treated like I stole something, he then closed the tote when I put the purses back. I have a lot so stuff to buy but I just left it because I was too embarrassed. He never said sorry, I wish that if they save stuff for their friend customers that they should not put it out on the floor. read more
