DECEPTIVE BUSINESS PRACTICE, HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I purchased a set of 7 dining chairs, 2 with arms and 5 without, but was only able to fit four in my vehicle at a time (1 with arms, 3 without). I know that I was specifically sold 2 arms/ 5 armless because Joey was super helpful and on top of things and double checked with me verbally to make sure that I knew that some had arms and some did not. I was assured by multiple employees that I would be able to pick up the remaining 3 (1 with arms, 2 without) the following day. When I arrived, I was told that the one with arms had been sold to someone else and that they would only give me one without arms. This is not what I purchased. Joanna shrugged it off and walked away from me saying there was nothing they could do, despite being one of the other employees that assisted with the sale only the day before. As far as I'm concerned, that is THEFT. EDIT: I called the district office and Marsha was incredibly helpful and took the time to actually ask the employees at the store what had happened, and they corroborated my account of events. I'm very thankful that she took me seriously and took actual care to investigate the issue. IF YOU BUY FURNITURE HERE TO PICK UP LATER, GET PHOTOS, A DETAILED ITEMIZED LIST IN ADDITION TO THE RECEIPT, AND A SIGNATURE FROM THE MANAGER ON DUTY. Not bad, not bad. This is a decent goodwill. Parking is a little tight. It's relatively organized and pretty clean. We went over to the men's section, which surprisingly was big. I found a long sleeve plaid skirt for my partner. I made him try it on to make sure it fits right. It looked good. Bought that and he loves it! I bought a long sleeve top for myself to wear. Bad reviews all point to employees being rude, dismissive or threatening. Will skip this thrift store and seriously suggest to the management that they re-train their staff RE customer service. Or replace the manager to someone who can actually properly manage their store employees. More customers means more assistance goodwill can provide. So stop doing things to scare customers away. read more

Very expensive, found some dresses Target /Walmart brand and tops that dirty and stains and missing buttons. Still charge for $12.99-$14.99 for the dress and $9.99 for the tops. The cashier lady is very rude. Found a kids shoes with a tag that 50% off that day and she said that this shoes is not the color on sale today, even though the tag said so ??? I asked her why? Had a horrible experience shopping here. I was so excited to find a hiking backpack and a sun hat as I work outside everyday. I tried to organize and gather the things I picked out when the manager came over and took the things from me and told me she would keep them at the front for me. I said thank you and asked if they had carts. She told me where they were. I started to look at the household items and spotted large things I wanted. When I went to go get a cart, the Manager started to yell at me in front of everyone and told me to leave her store. She wouldn't let me reason with her or try to buy the items and leave. I will also note her and her associate were talking (ill) about me at the register most likely. I called twice and they both hung up on me. The second call for a manager, I did get to speak with the same manager who kicked me out. She told me I was recorded, they alerted asset protection of me, and I am no longer welcome at that store. I had an amazing experience at this Goodwill store with one, ultra competent cashier. It appears that since they have added a new Goodwill on Harbor that they are leaving almost no employees to run the original one! Very terrible to do to what used to be a very smoothly run business. I hope management sees this and can make a better plan to serve their longstanding customers better on 19th Street. It's truly shame to abandon their customers with very little front cashier help!! This location seems to get pretty crowded during the weekend. I would recommend going during a weekday if you want to shop peacefully otherwise you'll be bumping shoulders with people. The clothes racks here are a bit cramped as well as the misc items. Cleanliness was okay but not as good as some other locations. read more

I will admit going to any Goodwill can be hit or miss on finding things you'll actually want to buy. Typically when I come to this Goodwill there's a 70% chance that I'm going to find something. On this most recent visit I saw this full length mirror for $25. You could tell this mirror was really expensive because of the quality. The woman behind the front desk let me know that once I purchased someone could help me carry it out. Josh, one of the workers carried it out only to notice that it wasn't going to fit in my tiny car. The Goodwill team offered to hold it so I could get a larger car. Came back and getting the mirror home was super simple after that! Love this place, it's always pretty organized even though there's a ton of items. read more

I feel like this location has some nice little treasures and they restock all day. Its worth checking out. I'm very aware Goodwill is overpriced, however, I continue to shop at this location based on their inventory. The days I go are inconsistent so I never noticed what happened today. As I was browsing it was very clear that they were close to no blue tags on any of the women's racks. Then I overheard a staff member ask that the employees double check their work in removing all blue tags from the racks. I then questioned her about removing the color tags as the advertisement was 50% off blue tags. She stated that they were removing all blue tags as the color tag changes on Friday. Isn't this miss-advertising? It's only Tuesday which means that for almost 3 days there will be no discounted tag. Yet they will continue to leave the sign up! This doesn't seem right. Is this a thing that all goodwills do? I never noticed. It really makes me not want to shop here at all. read more

I kinda wanted to gatekeep this place but that wouldn't be very nice of me, would it? I love this place. Handsdown the best goodwill there is. Maybe it's because I have a bias for Newport Beach but whenever I have a bad day or I'm bored, I pop by goodwill to make me happy. I have found such good clothes (not necessarily brand names but mostly good quality clothing items like silk shirts and nice skirts) and it's a running joke that my entire wardrobe is now from Goodwill. The young manager there is very unhelpful. I wanted to get a top for my kid that was from the Target kids brand Art Class with a M (7/8) tag on it and it came out to $10 because the Goodwill label was for a Woman's top. I explained to that so-called manager that it was a kids size and you could tell it was small but he said he couldn't do anything since the tag was on it. Very unhelpful to fix their own mistake. Had an '80's themed bachelorette party to attend and where was I going to find the hat, vest and out fit that Watts wears?? who's Watts? have you never seen Some Kind Of Wonderful? for shame...... bows head.. Well so it would be only obvious that this is the 1 stop shot we needed to get our 80's on, because what many many may not know-- we didn't really wear fluorescent colors though it was pushed. NOPE! Anyway- I found my total 80's outfit for under $60.00 Ducky round sunglasses, jacket with shoulder pads, high waist jeans (rolled up at cuff) suspenders, shirt that I buttoned up and low and behold a super awesome bolero tie, with a black undershirt, cuz it was summer and HOT in the OC, oh, Shoes??!! you ask-- well my own Dr. Martens of course. Super helpful staff, sure the stuff has really been gone through but there are some great finds- and I love thrift stores in general anyway you have to look for what you want and prices are hit an miss, but one mans treasure is another mans junk. Goodwill has a very well organized selection of clothing and a decent selection of electrics and small furniture. The have a toy section but it was very messy trying to go thru the bins. The store small so it feels a little crammed. They did manage to stock a large selection of shoes. They a small dedicated parking lot and it was not easy getting in and out of there. I had a really great experience here today! The workers were polite, attentive and professional. They made sure to check the dressing rooms before letting me in and everyone was engaged in stocking or helping customers. This Goodwill had so much stock, which was a great change from other locations I've visited recently. This one also had very fair pricing! The one drawback about this location is that it does have a bit of a problem with homeless people. But that's not the fault of the store. There were two men loitering on the steps in front of the store and I unfortunately had to carefully step around them and their stuff. Inside, a man tried stealing a pair of shoes when I was there and the employee near him was very professional and deescalated the situation. I do wish they would stop this new trend of organizing by size. Half the time, stuff is mixed in anyway so I have to go through it all. It was much easier to do this by color! Also, the new sections don't seem to make much sense. There will be some dresses in one section going from XS-XL, then the XS starts all over again with more dresses. I understand they're trying to organize them by casual/fancy/long sleeve, etc, but it doesn't work when nobody files them correctly. The majority of the women's clothing racks are so packed that you can barely browse. Now, to me this would signal that maybe they need to find a way to turn over their inventory faster. They could try: actual sales (they have a color of the week but they start pulling it from the floor as soon as it goes on sale so god luck finding it), a reward system that isn't awful (you get $5 off after making 15 separate purchases - imagine how much money you spend over 15 separate visits!), coupons if you buy or donate, an overall lowering of prices - I remember one manager, years ago, would do a flash sale where anyone who got in line before a certain time got a discount. Given that they're having a hard time clearing their racks, I was shocked to realize that they quietly raised most of their clothing prices by $2 this week! Girl, I can barely browse your racks and now you want people to pay $15 for a pre-owned dress or jeans? Yes, sometimes they get nice items that are worth paying that price but most of it is stuff like fashion nova, target, and forever 21. People thrift because they like the hunt - but how can they hunt if they can't even comfortably browse through your racks? There's been many times I want to buy a shirt, for example, but I give up because the racks are a packed and tangled mess! People also like getting a good deal - but people already felt this store was overpriced before this price hike so I wonder how they're going to feel about it now... Anyhow, I know they have quotas to meet but they're literally missing out on sales by being a packed disorganized mess and I can't imagine the problem will get any better now that they hiked up the prices about 15-20% read more

The woman that guards the dressing room is out of control. I went into the fitting room right after someone so she didn't get to count my items and she starts banging on the door like she's the police, I had 3 shirts, I wasn't breaking the fitting room policy. When you're looking through clothes and you get to where she's arranging clothes on the rack she won't move, she won't even budge a little for you to squeeze by. I think it's great if you're serious about your job but she needs to at least let people shop. read more

Very overpriced.... I noticed SEVERAL things that had store tags on and were much less expansive than the Goodwill's tag. Seriously, who is pricing these items?? Rude staff, some Latin older guy yelled at me for not standing in "right" line when I was holding a bulky item and had a baby in the stroller....several times there was some tweekers in the store, one smelled up the fitting room I almost fainted from the smell and had to ask for another fitting room. She said that coffee mugs are usually in the .49 to .99 cents a piece. Here they charge $2.99 and up. Come on really? Clothes are overpriced too. Let's help out the people on a budget. The parking lot is way too small. There was a fender bender in the parking lot in front of us coming in and we had to get out of the car to divert traffic and tell the two people to pull over some how because there was a line of 4 cars backed out the driveway. I wish I got the names of the incredibly sweet ladies working here who helped me and were patient with me when I came in to this shop tonight. They were literally minutes away from closing for the night, and yet they were nothing but kind to me and just so generous with their time and energy. I can't thank you women enough. not so goodwill after all. I have been donating for years to this store. Today I came by after 6pm. the donation site was closed but it states clearly to bring your things into the store. I had to flag somebody down, completely rude when I asked where to bring my stuff that all is closed and I need to come back another time. I told her that the sign states that you please bring your donations into the stores after 6pm. She left for the warehouse came back a couple of minutes later and without even looking at me just said you need to come back tomorrow. anyway, I will look for somewhere else to bring my donation in future read more

Drop stuff off about every six months here & I normally have amazing people helping. Today, when I went to drop a couple kitchen things from my boyfriends house, the guy looked in and said "Oh wow that's inappropriate." Now might I add, my boyfriend had a mug in the shape of a boob in there. I asked him if It wasn't allowed and he proceeded to say, "No, that's just so uncomfortable." Well, now I feel uncomfortable..
