Does a small shop with lots of interesting things to look at they had a back room with a knickknack large piece of small pieces you purchased a shadowbox frame that was fairly large and a great price. They had a small collection of DVDs and DVD sets I managed to pick up six of the friends seasons at a spectacular price. If you're looking for clothes that is both fashionable gently used and affordable they have lots to choose from the family that rents the shop was extremely friendly. They had many volunteers who were super helpful. I definitely recommend this shop if you are looking to find some gently used items and save a little bit of money hunting for treasures. read more

I love supporting charity initiatives and as a girl, by default - I love shopping. So, when you have a organization that encompasses both of my passions, a fire is ignited. *squeals in excitement* On a random trip to the southern part of Costa Mesa, I decided to take a detour and check out this shop. It's a mid-sized building with ample space for their goods. Unlike some thrift shops, the racks aren't overstuffed and the shop does not evoke that moth-ball smell. Most articles of clothing are priced according to their list, and their designer items are priced individually (located mostly towards the back right corner of the shop). I saw a good assortment of Marc Jacobs, True Religion, and Juicy Couture just to name a few. They also have a good selection of men's clothing. I saw a gentlemen in his late 20's pick out two piles worth of comfy tees. Looked like he hit the jackpot, though I didn't do too badly myself. I picked up an adorable 100% cashmere sweater and a Lacoste polo for $12. Not too shabby if I do say so myself. Proceeds go towards various charity organizations throughout Orange County and the Ticktockers, mother and daughter volunteers, regularly donate items from their fashionable closet. I was told that every once in a while they have a huge sidewalk sale on Saturdays where you can stuff everything in a bag for $10. Wow! I had the worst experience. My husband did find a basket that is perfect for our kitchen table. (We bought it) However my experience with Darcy has turned me off and I will never shop here ever again and encourage anyone of color not to do the same. So here is the back story, We arrived 10 min before closing because my husband's and I got lost. we are new to Costa Mesa and this happens to be the closet thrift store to our home. I was so excited we found the place I just jumped out the car all smiles once we arrived! Upon entering the store no one greeted me. They were huddled around the cash register. Talking about some lady who stoke shoes a second ago. But I was so excited to be there. So, I thought nothing of not being instantly greeted at door. Even if there was 4 of them there. I headed to the back. Where I seen decorations and home decor was. Before I can even reach the actual space, Darcy told me they were closed. Not once did she greet me or ask me what I was looking for. I informed her there was about 7 minutes left until closing and she then told me well almost close so you should wrap it up. At this point my mouth drops and my eyebrows are raised. I don't believe anyone should be spoken to this way. Especially if you are coming into a store to spend some money. Once she seen I was unhappy about her comment she then asked my husband so what are you looking for. Not me my husband. So I informed her she already told me to wrap it up because they were closed. So I didn't need her help. At the register I requested a managers number so I could speak with her. They told me they would give her my number to call me back. I doubt it will happen. I found a great gem located in the Costa Mesa/ Newport Beach area. This store is amazing and so clean. I have found Joe jeans, Tory Burch boots, brand new items with the tag still on. It's so close to my job,I go here at least once a week. The store hours are great the staff is friendly and the prices are wonderful . Do yourself a favor and drop by this thrift shop ASAP. By the way they also have tons of home decor for the Christmas holiday. read more

Some of my most prized possessions have come from Ticktockers, I just scored 2 Marc Jacobs dresses and a Marni Blouse for 14 bucks last time I was there. Remember, this is the chosen organization of Junior League, so the donations come from some of the best closets in Orange County. Prices are set, so there's no haggling or guesses. Usually, they will go down on prices, if anything. The back room has nicer dresses, shoes and labels in general and is opened Saturdays. Every so often they do a $10 bag sale, and a parking lot sale on Saturdays. But usually there are about 4 different hefty women (weird, they seem to alternate) who literally run in front of you, grab the shoes and purses and taken them to a corner to sort through what they want. Proceed with caution- or, like my Aunt, call them out and grab the box out of their hands. You don't dance with my Aunt, she lived in boat in Mexico for 10 years, and made a living hustling dudes out of pool. Now for the warm and fuzzy factor- They have a school uniform program, so if you know of a child who can't afford NMUSD uniforrms, call or go into the store for more information. CASH ONLY. There's of B of A next door though just in case you come empty handed. read more

Some reviews bagging on this store must be from clueless people. This is the best thrift shop in town! Firstly all the proceeds 100% go to support women and children charities in Newport/Costa Mesa area. The other charities maybe nonprofit but they are paying salaries to a lot of staff. All the items are donated from the women and families who live in Newport area and are Ticktockers (high school girls who volunteer all over town) and thus you are getting classy stuff right out of their closets as opposed to the crap dumped off at bins around town. This is the best thrift shop in town, yes it small and yes it's not open all day, the girls go to school and the mom's are involved, but they are providing a valuable service to the community. This place a has regular customers, who know they can get fantastic items but you got to come in early the merchandise moves quick and at the end of the month the product that has not sold ends up down the street at the other thrift shops. This is a nice, clean, and well organized little thrift store. They have a large children's section which includes designer clothes. The men's section is well stocked. The book section is great. I have found several classic books in new condition for 50 cents to $1.00 The shoe section is small but the clothes selection is great. I like the designer section but the prices are a bit too steep for my liking. They only open 10-2pm so it's hard to make it. Not sure when they have sales but i would love to go when they have one. CA$H ONLY! Okay, now that the only form of payment they accept is settled.... Cute smaller shop. Nice selection of clothes. There is a small back room for linens and housewares. All the inventory is donated by their members, so if you have things to donate, bring them somewhere else (Goodwill is just up 19th street, & Salvation Army is around the corner on Harbor Blvd). For me this place is hit or miss, and their limited hours don't help in terms of convenient shopping. Still, its fun to pop in & take a quick look around. Because they only take cash, its generally easy for me to make up my mind here- I can only buy what I have in my wallet. Today's budget was small but nothing struck my fancy. Always a treat. I never leave without finding something special and feeling good about giving back. You see - the items are donated by members of the National Charity League and sold to the local community for a bargain. The money then is donated back to the community through local charities. Finally! They are taking credit cards. This has always been one of my favorite thrift shops. They carry high-end brands that you don't see at other thrift shops and you can find amazing deals. It is run by moms and daughters and only open from 10-2 Monday-Saturday, so plan accordingly. It is definitely worth a weekly stop by! I have found fabulous items from Prada, Splendid, Barney's, JCrew, Free People, Theory and Banana Republic all at thrift shop prices. read more

Let me first start by saying of all the times I've come here todays experience 1/25/17 left a bad taste in my mouth.I was shopping for a black blazer, I found a really nice one and saw the sign that said jackets and coats $8. The blazer had no price tag so decided it would be a great buy. I also found a really nice warm sweater with a little whale on it I thought it was really cute. I went to check out I got this mid aged women who honestly looks like she hated being there and needs to lay off on the Botox. She began pricing my items at her favor she said the blazer I found should be $20 and she had no idea how it ended up on the floor for $8 then my last items she just began pricing at her own prices she priced a sweater of mine at $15 ?? I was so confused?? I kindly asked why is it so much? she gave me this death look like ugh, "it's vineyard vines sweater" I'm not a girl who's high in brands so I was honestly upset. I personally wouldn't run a business by pricing items at my own favor when a costumer is at check out and I have my prices all over the store. **ADVICE TIME** Here's some advice ladies! why don't you stop gossiping behind the counter about your son in college and how you have such a lazy husband LOL and as a good volunteer go around the store and look for items that have "mistakenly not been priced higher" Safe to say I won't be coming here anymore. The goodwill is located next door, they stick to prices regardless of "designer brands" if it says $8 and it's a Gucci sweater then it's $8 not $20 Because you didn't realize it was on the floor and it's your favorite brand and there's no way your selling it to a regular customer. Not very fair ... So I found three pairs of shoes on 2-13-17 in the $4 shoe area. I asked for a basket to hold shoes as I wanted to keep shopping. The volunteer said, " go ahead and leave them on the counter, I'll watch them." As I went to check out and purchase the three pairs of shoes, the woman at register had put new ( higher) prices on each of the shoes. I feel this was unethical and unprofessional. read more

It's an undoubtedly cute store. But the hours are silly, and this isn't a "real job" so why stay open for more than 4 hours? I actually overheard a group of volunteers talking amongst themselves say its not a real job. And I have nothing against volunteers, I respect anyone who donates there time but treat it like a job and respect what your doing. I myself volunteer and it's a job, respect yourself and your work. I feel like this place is a hobby for a group of well todo ladies in need of more socializing time. My overall experience was less then stellar and maybe Im biased because my four year old is doing a pee pee dance and the women I asked told me to cross the busy street to take her to the bathroom. I'm sorry my child and her awful cooties needed to use the bathroom. But hey I get it, open the restroom to one tiny child when your about to close and everyone else is going to want to use the bathroom. I also think the people who work here are not business savvy... On any level. For starters when it's close to closing time, flip your sign to closed. Costumers are less likely to waste their time attempting to shop in a store that's closed. Also instead of 5 people chatting in the back maybe you can get some people upfront to help checkout people. Oh! And invest in a damn calculator or have someone who can do simple subtraction in the front checking people out. 30-12 is 18. And while we're on the topic of math, how ethical is it to change prices when the costumer is paying? Never in my life have I heard someone tell a costumer "actually... It's going to be a little extra". To me when an employee tells a costumer " actually.... It's going to be a little extra" for an item I get a feeling that one of two things is going on. 1. Maybe it was an honest oops. Or 2. you put the item out on the floor thinking "who's going to pay 5 bucks for these obviously wore shoes?, oh wait this lady, crap! Let me see if she'll pay $8". And this wasn't one oops this was half a dozen, so I think costumers need to ask themselves when does an accident become slightly more than an accident? My last comment is that this is a cash only business. And you get some benefits to cash only, I understand that, but you also miss some customers, because they walked in spontaneously and didn't have cash on hand, or they would have purchased more, but they didn't have cash. so why not take other forms of payment? Is it because you'll have to pay a third party to use those forms? is it too expensive? Because if that's the case why doesn't the business use the "actually.... It's going to be a little extra" excuse to pay that difference? As an outsider looking at the overall business, and I'm not implying anything I'm just saying, something smells fishy. read more

Okay well I have driven by this place multiple times and was always so bummed out by the hours they open . Finally came the day when I was,able to get there and I had a special event to go to where I had my heart set on this vintage dress I saw hanging in the window .. I told myself I don't care how much it is If its under 150$ I am getting it . I go in and I ask the teenagers at the desk, no adult that I could see anywhere , but I ask her "how much for that dress I want to buy it!" She looks at me and says well I don't think its for sale .. Not until march" which was next month. Another teenager comes up to me and says "it matches the "THEME"we have for the window so it not for sale ". I couldn't believe my ears I was a paying customer and I wanted ,no I needed that dress it was perfect .. Any ways its been a few months and it bugs me SO MUCH when I drive by I had to yelp this crap .. Sorry ladies you need more adult supervision to help run the store if they are trying to raise cash for a charity then even more of a reason to consider replacing the window dress make that money and out a different dress on the window display.. read more

my first vintage tie love bloomed here. a few years ago i checked this place out with a couple friends and bought a bag of art deco, skinny, and other vintage ties at a dollar each. since then my visits to this place have become more and more scarce as i realize how much the contents have deteriorated. and my latest drop-in has just been the last nail in the coffin. to start with, i didn't mind the homeless guy laying down in front of the store. it's a charity, right? but the lady working the counter was so mean! a customer asked her how much a certain pair of jeans was, and the woman took so long to find out and gave the answer as if she was doing a huge favor that wasn't normally her job. aren't charity shops supposed to employ sweethearts working for a good cause? her eyes were following everyone in the store (mostly older white ladies and then me) with a cold stare; as if we were suspects of kidnapping small children and smashing kittens. that's right, you heard me. wasn't much of anything there for me. as i was leaving, i smiled and thanked her for her time. she just gave me the same icy look and said nothing. what a bitch! ,' : / read more

The store is small but really well organized. I got three round glass vases and three glass candlesticks holders. The vases were $2-3 each and the holders were $1 each! I thrift all over OC and prefer the smaller shops as opposed to GW and SA. Crossed this place off my list a few years ago tho. Just because something has a "designer" label doesn't mean it's worth the price. You need to really check out clothing for missing buttons, small holes, etc. Manned by NB club women who have never worked a day in their privileged lives and their teen debutante-to-be daughters earning their hours, it usually takes 2 to operate the register when checking out. And bickering over pricing. Located in a sketchy strip mall in a low income neighborhood, they don't seem to be aware that many of their customers are low income and could benefit from more reasonable prices. I find Assistance League stores way more in tune with pricing and a heart for the underprivileged. With so many donations pouring in why not offer struggling young families low priced baby/children's clothing? read more

Years ago, at least 25, I lived in the area and it was on the top of my list of thrift shops to go, so coming from las vegas and putting this shop on the top of my list I go there... just a bunch of over priced crap.. the women were all into what they were doing amongst themselves, there for their social hour I assume.. I used to find the best things to buy and re-sell.. after a couple trys to this place.. No Thanks, I will go to the Goodwill just down the street and the Salvation Army that is chock full of fun, unusual items and all priced to sell and resell... so TICK TOCK.. your CLOCK ran out for me. read more
