The store opened recently but there is very little product on the shelves and the clothes racks are tiny and far apart. They also have the same items that were there when they first opened a month ago. Very disappointing.

I was also very disappointed in this store. It was mediocre at best, and overpriced at worst. Um, you're not sposed to sell things for the same price (or more) that they would cost new. I was looking for some maps or an atlas to use the pages for crafts but the books were $2 and up. There was no sheet music for same, no yarn, all the dishes were high priced, and I was told a wooden spoon that I picked up with no price was $1.99. For a used wooden spoon?? I don't think so. I politely said, That much? I think I'll pass. And the clerk responded very politely as well. I left without buying anything, unusual for me, wondering how many sales they lose on things that could be turning over very quickly if they were priced reasonably. Their loss.

This location has been my last minute go-to spot for Halloween costumes for at least four years now. It has never failed me. For my own costume, I usually walk in clueless as to what I need but something will end up sparking my imagination and in the end, I always walk out pleased as punch. I think at least 4 different people have now worn the Nun costume made from a $5 black choir robe, a headband and some black fabric. We've also conjured up the Geek Squad, Little Orphan Annie, a Dead Prom Queen and a Disco Diva, (blonde fro and all) just to name a few. Other times we've found just the right accessory to finish out kid costumes and whatever our imagination had started. Forget the big costume stores full of packaged, synthetic crap. Come here, get creative and save some cash in the process.

Selection is okay but they must be high when they price things. So overpriced. This stuff is USED, Goodwill. Get a grip on reality.

It's a smaller store but they have lots of well-curated pieces and a really good selection of formal wear, dresses, skirts, jewelry, etc. I was prompted to take care of this draft review and a few others today because of a dress in the window here. A friend was recently in town visiting and asked that I go back and get a picture of the dress in the window. She is thinking about purchasing it (or having me purchase it and send it to her lol). Anyway, here's something to know: items displayed in the window have waitlists for folks intersting in purchasing. Anytime I have been in the shop, including today, service is friendly and helpful. Interestingly, the store combines vintage items with some modern items. For example, socks, some jewelry and sunglasses are non-vintage. While the store is small, it is easy to browse. In addition, clothing and shoe items are spaced apart where you can easily view them and ferret through the racks. The value of items are reasonably priced and some items as low as $5. I did not find anything I could not live without, however, I will definitely pop in from time to time. Also, there is a fair amount of free parking. The store manager was super helpful and personable.

As the mother of a rescue dog who was going to be euthanized, I am 100% behind everything this thrift store stands for. In fact, every 6 months when I overhaul my closet, I donate A LOT of clothing, shoes, and accessories to the store in support of the cause. I also like to swing by as part of my North Loop jaunt (every few months, hit up North Loop stores and pubs---to include APA!) to make purchases. Found quite a few cute things here over the years not only for myself but friends and family. They've got an amazing selection of items and each time I pop in they seem to have loads more. Anyway, I love Room Service and have been coming here for years. Long before I relocated to Austin from the East Coast. It's part of my North Loop Jaunt where I hit up all my fave places in the neighborhood every few months or so. Prior to relocating, I'd visit Austin twice a year and always made time to stop in. This is one of the most inspiring and well laid out vintage stores ever. You can just get lost for hours. So many ideas for home decor and styling. They've always got a grand selection of MCM (Mid-Century Modern) furniture and accessories. My house is 99% MCM. They've really just got the best collection of everything. Trinkets, knickknacks, patches, light fixtures, dishes, mirrors, art, clothing, records, jewelry...you get my drift. Service is so super friendly and welcoming. I am particularly fond of the pro-trans sign in the entrance window!! Everything they carry is in very good to pristine condition and pricing is reflective. I had a feeling it probably wasn't going to be my kind of shop, and I turned out to be right--but that's not a knock on the store. This is a really cool place filled with things you won't find just anywhere. If you're looking for unique vintage, antique, mid-century modern, or just plain unusual pieces, you'll probably have a great time browsing. Just don't go expecting thrift store prices. Everything is priced much closer to full market value, so this is more of a vintage boutique than a thrift store. I originally stopped in because I'd seen photos online of some beautiful vintage glassware and hoped to find something to add to my collection. Unfortunately, they didn't have anything I was looking for, and what did catch my eye was more than I was willing to spend. I left empty-handed, and it's probably not a store I'll visit again simply because I'm more of a bargain hunter. But if you're looking for distinctive vintage pieces and don't mind paying market prices, Room Service Vintage is definitely worth a visit.

There are so many thrift stores out there that I've gone to but this one by far is one of the best as far as clothing selections go. I always walk out with $30-70 worth of clothes and with that money I get so much especially on discounted items. Not to mention their used clothes are so well priced it honestly makes the experience more enjoyable. Now here are the cons. Their new with tags items are WAY over priced, some near retail. I know those are supposed to be more expensive ideally they should at least be half off not near retail price which defeats the purpose of buying them thrifted. Another thing, it's way too hot and stuffy in there. I've gotten used to it but they don't have AC only fans which doesn't do much only if you're in front of it. The worst part was how rude their customer service is. My 2.5 year old is deaf/hard of hearing and took off her hearing aid in the store. My husband put it in what he thought was our cart. When we realized he had misplaced her hearing aid, I went back inside to look for it. I asked one of the stockers to help and they ignored me. I then went to the front to ask for help and was told that I would need to look in the carts myself. I told the lady that my daughter needs the hearing aid to hear and they are very expensive but she blew me off again and told me to look myself. I then told her I had spent $60 in the store and that they were $12,000 and asked if she would please help me. She told me " not with that attitude I can't." She then forced me to take a breath and continued to berate me about my attitude after she had refused to help me. She finally did make an announcement and someone came forward with the hearing aid. I'll never go back to this store and would never recommend it to anyone.
