We arrived only an hour before they closed, and I only saw about 1/4 of the vendors areas before they announced the 15 minutes till close. I ended up walking through the rest of it as quickly as I can and I didn't get to see everything. The prices vary widely, which makes sense, since items are priced by different vendors. Anyway, I love Room Service and have been coming here for years. Long before I relocated to Austin from the East Coast. It's part of my North Loop Jaunt where I hit up all my fave places in the neighborhood every few months or so. Prior to relocating, I'd visit Austin twice a year and always made time to stop in. This is one of the most inspiring and well laid out vintage stores ever. You can just get lost for hours. So many ideas for home decor and styling. They've always got a grand selection of MCM (Mid-Century Modern) furniture and accessories. My house is 99% MCM. They've really just got the best collection of everything. Trinkets, knickknacks, patches, light fixtures, dishes, mirrors, art, clothing, records, jewelry...you get my drift. Service is so super friendly and welcoming. I am particularly fond of the pro-trans sign in the entrance window!! Everything they carry is in very good to pristine condition and pricing is reflective. With that said, the prices are extremely fair. I can't recommend Room Service enough. Support local. Support small business. Sustainability. Be creative.

The space is very truly a thrift shop--bit of everything everywhere in the main room, and it's very fun to walk around and look for little treasures! Kevin explained to me that he rearranges his shop pretty often (he cheekily calls the practice "funk shui") to get people's eyes on different items every time they come in. He tends to get his wares from estate sales, auctions, and considers himself a treasure hunter. And I must agree! Lots of treasures in Far Out, and I loved sifting through them. If you make your way in, you'll likely hear from Kevin that he's open to negotiation and bundling items for reasonable deals. He seems just to be genuinely excited to find cool items and give them new homes. And I appreciate that energy a lot. I came in looking, loosely, for some home decor as my husband and I outfit our home after moving back to Texas from Georgia. But nothing felt quite right on the decor side. But I saw some beautiful pieces and walked out of the store with a vintage book I was excited about. So I consider it a successful trip. :) Make a trip over to check out Kevin's treasures. This is one of those charming local businesses that make the town of Taylor special. I read through…read morethe over 20+ reviews before coming here and if you leave the business owner a one star review, you'll definitely hear back lol. The shop is a collaboration of numerous antique collectors under one roof, and I have to admit the selection is quite impressive. I was very impressed with their collection of records, which were of the collectible type not like the usual junk you see in Goodwill. I found records here that you can't even find in record stores. Just when you thought you'd seen everything inside, there's a door that leads to the back which leads you into another large space that is non-air conditioned. Everything here is very well laid out and the prices aren't ridiculous. There are so many things to see here that I decided to let the pictures below tell the story. This place is definitely worth a visit if you're visiting Taylor. You'll also be happy to know they do have a public bathroom.

A couple interesting pieces but nothing that really stood out. Almost bought a wooden wall hanging but then realized it was Hobby Lobby. There was ample space in the aisles to bring my toddler in a stroller (had my baby in a front carrier). There is a bathroom for customers. On Black Friday I walked in for their soft launch after finding them on ig. I got my wife a vintage Gucci purse for HALF the normal price. I guess the owner does estate sales and comes across all kinds of things. Inside there was a really cool furniture mid century credenza, tons of jewelry, and clothing. The neighborhood is expensive, and all the stuff is high end but I think the prices were crazy low. The woman behind the counter - Renee?? even gave me a free cup of coffee. Thank you!

They've got records, lots of jewelry, shoes, silverware, and glassware. If you have some high-end clothing that you would like to consign, this would be a good place, but no cheap stuff. If someone you know or a loved one has passed away, the owner will come to your place and evaluate the estate, preferably within the Austin area.

My husband and I ended up chatting with Danny, who runs the shop, and we could have stayed there talking for hours. He was so welcoming and had so many great stories about the local area, the growth around Buda, and of course all the amazing nostalgia pieces packed inside the store. The shop itself is awesome. You can tell Danny and his wife (who we didn't get the pleasure of meeting) puts a lot of heart and care into curating everything. It's the kind of place where you find little treasures tucked into every corner. From vintage shirts to classic antiques, everything has a story behind it. We honestly went in because of a t-shirt, but left feeling like we got a little glimpse into Buda's past too. Definitely a must-stop if you're in the area. Can't wait to come back and see what new finds are waiting next time.

I don't recommend this store after seeing how this owner was treating my kids. I would like to let people know how we were treated in the store. We were visiting the store for the very first time. My kids were very excited to shop around for toys. My little one dropped one toy to the floor, then the owner yelled to both of them. Ordered them to put down all the toys and not touching anything any more. After that, my kids were getting terrified literally and refused to enter any store on that street. We have never been treated this way before. How you are treating customers is also the way you treat other people. Be careful of this store if you are considering about it. Google review is not true. Hope our experience can give people some suggestions.

Ann and Eric helped us pick out a beautiful chandelier for our new vacation house in Telluride…read more What was amazing is that we were able to do it from Colorado. The chandelier we had purchased in Denver turned out to be too small to fit the space for which it was intended. So I searched online and found a chandelier that The Antique Swan had advertised on line. It looked like a perfect fit. We called and spoke initially to Ann, the owner, who is the nicest person and knows so much about antiques. Turns out my chandelier was purchased by Ann on one of her annual trips through Europe where she scours the countryside looking for interesting pieces to ship home to her store. It is cool to get a first person story of where your purchase came from. My chandelier came from an estate near Stratford on Avon in the UK. I can't say enough about how helpful Eric was in getting the chandelier to us in a hurry. We had them pack and ship it to us sight unseen. It got to us in 2 days and each piece of crystal was individually bubble wrapped. It was exactly as advertised if not better. I highly recommend The Antique Swan.

We were nearby having lunch and walked over and it's still there! Tons of beautiful crystals and I was able to get a Rose quartz and two smokey quartz towers - all really good quality for insanely good prices. They have some great vintage clothing inside and some cute accessories and fun items. Great location near to some other cool shops and finds and Hillside Pharmacy for fabulous bites. Super friendly staff who wrapped my gems up with love and care for the trip back to VA. A+

In addition, you'll be able to find items from various eras as far back as the 30s through the 70s. I've seen some stuff there even older than the 30s. Everything is of exceptional quality and condition. Not only do they sell but they buy as well. If you've got vintage wear you'd like to get rid of, try them. They give cash or credit for things they'll buy from folks. As with most stores like this, you'll get more in store credit for your stuff. Fun fact: they've also got a location in Waco.

Treasure City Thrift recently moved into my neighborhood, so I finally stopped in to see what it…read morewas all about. On my first visit, I noticed they had a nice mix of clothing, shoes, glassware, and home décor, so I came back this weekend hoping to browse the clothing racks. I struck out on clothes this time around--not because they didn't have any, just because nothing in my size was quite my style, condition, or price point. That's thrifting, though. You never know what you're going to find, and sometimes the best score is in a completely different aisle. In my case, I walked out with a pair of vintage shoes in excellent condition for only $5, plus several beautiful glass pieces for next to nothing. I'd call that a successful trip! When I drove by on Sunday, they had boxes and boxes of free items out front with people happily digging through them. It was way too hot for me to join the hunt, but once the Texas weather cools off, I definitely will. This feels like one of those thrift stores that's worth stopping into regularly because the inventory is always changing, and you never know what treasure you'll find next.

I visited the city-wide vintage sale with my adult child, and we spent about 3 hours there on the…read moresecond day of the sale. The cons are that you'll pay for parking and entry. The pros are that you'll see a wide range of vendors - from clothing and jewelry to music and furniture....and plenty of kitch. The price ranges are pretty broad. I bought an $8 necklace but sorted through a bunch of Coach bags ($200 - $300), and some super cool upcycled pieces ($175 - $250). The crowd was pretty small, and some decent deals were to be had later in the day if you asked. Overall, there was a high clothing to other things ratio on this particular weekend. I bought a pink maxi tule skirt, a pair of possibly too low rise lightweight pants, and 2 necklaces. My kid bought a pair of shorts, a sweater vest, a small fish pin, a CD, and an embroidery art piece. I had fun and I'd go back.
