This place used to be great, now it's gone up in SMOKE! The owner and employees smoke in their office (which is in the middle of the store). Your hair, your clothes, and everything you buy there will literally reek of cigarettes. And if you call her out on it, she will argue with you about how it's no different than eating at Blacks BBQ across the street, which is BS. Save your money and your lungs. Gross. read more

From the outside this place is quite deceptively small but in reality it encompasses 9000 ft.². This place is absolutely stuffed to the rafters with antiques and collectibles. Most of the merchandise in the store is not priced so you'll have to ask the proprietor as to the cost. From the items that we did see priced, it was quite clear they are not interested in matching any Goodwill pricing. So if you find something you like, you can expect to pay retail. It's easier to say what I did not find than what I did find, for example, they don't have any antique furniture for the most part nor did I see any old radios or TVs. This is a big miss. The place is overloaded with stuff, most not priced. The strong cigarette smoke both active and stale is plain ole nasty. There are some venders in back who have some stuff marked, but they are way over priced. Looks more like left over garage sale junk. Don't waste your time. This store makes you feel dirty just walking around. Clerks totally ignore shoppers. read more

Karen and the crew at field stable run a tight ship. The selection is incredible, the prices are a little below market value and I always find something when I stop here after barbecue at Black's. I wish it didn't smell like cigarette smoke, but it kind of adds to the funky, old-timey atmosphere of the place. read more

HOLY SMOKES!!! this place is AMAZING! ....actually, you know what, no it's not.....it's too good for you......get away.....it's all mine!!!! i hope you know i'm just kidding. fields stable is extraordinary and i want everybody to be happy and have the nice things that come from there. their selection just goes on and on; the pearl necklaces, the tea pots, the tiny porcelain shoes, the clothes, the jewelry the doodads!! and just room after room after room. and let me tell you, they don't carry junk. each item is intentionally selected, curated and displayed by category. they are not messing around. i came in today, my secret desire being a spoon ring. when they asked if i was looking for something i told them and low and behold!!! they went in the back and found me a one of a kind spoon ring with the gerber baby's head on it. AND they made it my size for me. AAAAND!!! it was nine dollars. i had to buy it. they were so cool! i just wish i had more time to look at all the things. i will definitely be back. this place is a treasure. read more

Great shop with a wide assortment of items. The inventory is different every time I drop in, which is very nice. I think the prices are good, esp compared to Austin where most shops now act like everything they have is a museum piece. read more

On a recent visit to Lockhart for BBQ, I stumbled into this place with my wife in order to kill some time before lunch. The store's pretty enormous and filled to the brim with a lot of cool stuff. We're not antique collectors, but it was still interesting to walk around and browse. I guess it's hard not to be somewhat curious after watching American Pickers and every variant/spin-off that's come after it. The store owner, Karen, was very friendly and was happy to let us wander around on our own. She only came around when we had any questions. Originally from the Boston area, most of the stuff in the store came from the East coast. She said she started operating out of this building almost a year ago I believe it was something like 9000 square feet in all. In the end, I went home with just a small vintage Porky Pig Christmas ornament for $7.50. But I'll definitely come back as it makes for a nice pit stop before or after the occasional BBQ run. read more

This antique store is okay. It has way to much glassware in it for my taste. I like a little signage, old automotive, vintage games, old electronics, gauges and tools. Didn't see hardly any of that here. Didn't want to ding it too hard just because it didn't have what I look for. read more

Best antiques in Lockhart. I almost don't want to post a review because I find many of my treasures in here! The owner is a real sweetheart and goes out of her way to help you find what you are looking for- a far cry from most antiques dealers who just wish you would stop touching their crap and get out haha. There are places I remember... Sorry, I couldn't help but start with a Beatles reference because this place has it all. My son has just graduated from law school in MA, and I wanted to get him something from Texas that he would appreciate. He loves cowboy shirts, the Roy Rogers, kind and the more "bling" on it, the better. He is long in the arms and torso which is tough to find. The owner spent about 20 minutes showing me the different quality and types of shirts and helped me seach for ten shirts which he offered to take back if they didn't fit. In addition, he offered to go to his warehouse and find some more "even cooler" shirts for Tyler in time for his visit in June. My boyfriend and I were visiting Austin for MotoGP. We heard about Lockhart for great Texas BBQ and in the process came across Karen's antique store too, Fields Stable Antiques. There is a ton of eclectic and unique stuff in her spacious shop for the senses, something for everyone. Even though I wanted a lot of items there I only bought a ceramic beer stein mug with a painting of a cowboy riding a bronc on it (Could fit into the suitcase!). On the bottom of the mug it was etched with, "W. Germany". Love it! It was a real pleasure in visiting with Karen, she has a very interesting background (Ask her how she ended up in Lockhart, Texas from Boston, MA!), and an open and friendly personality. Next trip to Austin for MotoGP we're definitely going back to Lockhart for BBQ and to say hello to Karen at her great shop! read more

A quaint shop tucked in a corner, it had huge selections and everything had something special to it. We bought a rotating musical chinaware, which was priced moderately I think. Strolling through the shop and checking out what they offer takes longer than you might think, as the shop is huge and has a variety of different things for sale. I would love to come back here again, and see the things they have here after a scrumptious lunch at Black's bbq just a stone's throw away. read more

Karen is a hilarious delight. She knows what to look for but still always delivers excellent prices. Constantly changing inventory, but she still has amazing knowledge of what she's got. Definitely a gem of the central Texas antiquing scene. First Friday's age cooks up a mean cheesecake and stays open late. Zero complaints. read more

I came with a group to tour Lockhart BBQ, we ended up in this store because we had some time to kill. Ended up staying so long we had to cut the last BBQ stop short because this place was just so cool. Vicki was the one to help us that day and she was so awesome! We had a large group so a lot of questions were being thrown to her and she handled it like a pro. Needless to say today I went back to get a few things I wanted but couldn't afford at the time and had just as good of an experience as I did the last time. I got to meet the owner, Karen and she was super cool and helpful. Honestly all the ladies there today were great and I felt like I got a good deal on great pieces.
