I shop here often. Practically stalk it because the prices are good, and they usually have a variety of pretty cool things. Good place overall except the staff. No matter what the question is, they act like they're being torn away from something more important. Today, I walked in at 4:50, knowing they close at 5pm. I was "greeted" at the door by a woman who just said "We close at 5". No hello. No real sentiment. Her tone clearly indicated I had interrupted her. I told her I knew that because I had just walked by the hours of operation sign on the door. I did a very quick sweep. Grabbed two things and was standing in line to be checked out at 4:56pm. There was one customer finishing up at the register and one still in the store browsing. Several associates, including Ms. Welcome Wagon, were discussing things including customers. I mentioned that I worked in the restaurant industry and it was my employers policy that if someone came in at one minute till closing, they were treated with the same courtesy that the first customer of the day recieved. Ms. WW began shrieking that I was rude and had somehow deeply offended her. She took off without finishing the transaction, screaming the entire way about the colossal wrong I had committed. She came back with a manager, who looked at me like I was a dead rat on the floor and agreed with her co-worker. I apologized and again explained our policy of treating all customers the same, regardless of what time they came in. The sour faced manager told me that was good for me but they just did not do that. I didn't know what else to say, so I left. The clock said 5:00 as I got in my car. I try to be respectful to everyone and particularly, my customers. After all, it's my job, what I get paid, through the customers, to do. I don't think these two employees realize that. read more

This is a standard thrift shop primarily consisting of clothing and bedding. I was hoping they'd have a toy section but there was a giant no toys and no books sign by the donation area. The non clothing sections were really lacking. I found a sheet to repurpose but there were a few of them that belonged in the trash and not on the rack. They are though cheaper than other places which is nice. read more

I always find a good deal here. The prices are way cheaper than Goodwill. With some exceptions, they use flat rate pricing (ie, women's skirts are only $3) or incentives (10 books for $1 - yes, only $1!) One of the last times I was in I was looking for new dishes and they had a large selection of well-organized matching sets and singles. It made the shopping experience smooth and I always try to get out there before they close at 5pm. read more

This thrift store sits right next to the feeder of Highway 71 in Bastrop. This thrift shop sits on the same side of the highway as the Goodwill 2 miles in the other direction. The store is well lit, clean and well laid out like a department store. About 60% of the floor space is given over to clothing. They have a large selection of books, VHS tapes, movies, and CDs. For the most part, the pricing is pretty similar to what you would find at Goodwill. Definitely a thrift shop worth stopping at. read more

Solid shop. I have to give this a maybe recommendation because the manager with the short hair is absolutely nasty to deal with. We try to avoid her but it's not easy. The first time we had to deal with her we were donating some items and she admonished us for not giving them the entire bin that the items were in. We regularly hear her be rude to customers and short with employees. It's unfortunate; the mission of this place is something we're 100% behind. We won't stop donating items, nor will we stop buying things here. I just hope she gets some coaching. read more

Stopped by this thrift store today for an umbrella. They didn't have any, however I came across some nice finds anyway: floor puzzle, spiral designer, and some Dino pants. They support some really good causes so that's a nice bonus when shopping here. I've previously purchased some dresses for a wedding from here as well. The four stars is for their shopping carts. The wheels have hair caked on them and it's pretty gross, so I opted not to use them. Past that, the store is great and I'll be back for more deals. That's my favorite part of thrift store shopping, they always have different things even if you shop every week. Not saying that I'm that person LOL. read more

Don,t shop here they discriminate against the ones who are assigned to volunteer their time to help out. I was assigned to help them for free but was told it cost to much to do a background check. My probation officer assigned me to work there they don't need to run background checks when your probation officer knows your background. I got there early to perform community service just to be told they do not accept me because of the cost of a background check. Don't waste your time there give to goodwill. The owner must walk on water with no sin in her life. How dare you judge us. Hope you are judge by God the same way. She should be fired on the spot. I bet she dont work for free. Close this store or hire a compitant person to run it. They only help themselves to the money when you donate your items. read more

At the beginning, it was an adventure in thrifting...Lately, it has been more like retail and "the attitude" of workers/volunteers is not as welcoming. This has turned into a higher price shopping and the cashier(s) is not always polite in her mannerisms. We locals, used to get greeted coming in & always a thank you-once we cashed out. Now, we get frowns and hardly even a smile for coming to shop. It has lost its small town appeal quite quickly. Many of the locals (all races) are already sharing their dry/grimacing attitude, when they've checked out. Guess for me, I'll just drive into other towns for my weekly thrifting with a more welcome "smile"and fair prices. read more

This is an excellent thrift store. Those hard working ladies did a great job. They are constantly improving the store. The store is very clean and organized. I can always find things to buy there. Moving to the Bastrop area and finding good thrift stores are obviously slim to none. I came across this thrift shop several years ago on my way to Houston. I was really impressed at first with the selection of kids clothes. I bought my daughter several dresses under $4 each, all name brand too. At that time I probably would have given the shop 4 or 5 stars, but things have changed within this past year. Appearance: Everything is nicely organized. Most things are clearly labeled too. Make sure to check out the sale sign when you walk in. If you miss it the employees seem to be bothered by repeating what's on sale. Store seemed clean and no funky smells. Prices: Eh this is a hit or miss. I never seem to find anything on sale when I go in on "sale" days. Adult clothes are overpriced in my opinion. Kids clothes aren't bad bc they're all under $5 but adult clothes seem overly priced and not marked accordingly. I wish they'd individually price items rather than price everything in categories. I think sometimes they mistag items BUT DON'T YOU DARE bring it to the employees attention bc they'll get pissed for you questioning them!!! I was a little bothered by seeing a bloody period stained swimsuit for $4...cmon people, they supposedly put everything out one by one, why sell something so gross for $4!!! The Employees...dun dun dun This is where my problem starts and this is what puts any future shopping to a halt. No one's nice and honestly I feel most of the women judge the shoppers. They all have piss poor attitudes and act like their crap doesn't stink...uh hello, your the one working at the thrift shop, not me! I'd consider myself a pretty seasoned thrift shopper and this my friends is a thrift shop worth skipping. this place has never failed me. very fairly priced, actually is a thrift store but without lowballing themselves. workers are always kind

update I needed to do...decided to try this place once more...definite improvement ...lots of room to move around compared to before when everything was so crowded and seemed like it was just thrown here and there..,place is much cleaner now too..and the clothes are actually sorted Out by size !!.. employees seem to be more friendly and care about their job ..not sure if new management or not but I can give it a thumbs up on the improvements here .. still think $4 T-shirt's are a little pricy and the appliances seem over priced but it is a worth while place to go .. check it out !! read more

I frequent this thrift store and typically it is a pleasant experience. I always find some kind of "treasure". I was in the store for black Friday and the two women at the register were very rude and had terrible customer service. I am still undecided if I want to bother with this place anymore. read more
