Good afternoon, I had a wonderful experience at Goodwill that I feel is worth sharing. As soon as I walked in, I was warmly greeted by a young man. I immediately asked if they had crutches available. After taking one look at me and realizing I was struggling to walk due to an injury to my right foot, he kindly told me to stay where I was. Without hesitation, he went to the back of the store and brought the crutches to me. I was extremely grateful that I didn't have to walk through the store in pain. His kindness and attentiveness truly stood out. He returned quickly with the crutches, and I was able to go straight to the register to purchase them. Not only was the service exceptional, but the store also had a great selection of items at very reasonable prices, which made the visit even better. It's not often you come across that level of care and customer service along with such value. Thank you for making a difficult moment much easier. read more

I was there to drop off some boxes of goods. They used to come out to your car to help you unload, but I guess they have stopped that practice. People were jamming the drive thru from all directions & clogging up the lane. I think I'll go to a different location from now on! read more

Would give less but putting 3 stars because the manager(Brittney I think her name was) was EXTREMELY nice and helpful! She's the only reason I'll continue to shop here. I've now had two bad experiences with the employees at this location. First instance was with a young tall guy that was super rude at check out and didn't put any of our information down for a reserved piece of furniture. Thank GOD we had the receipt and Brittney was on top of it! She got us all set up and was super nice the whole way. The second instance was with a woman that worked there. Little backstory, you need to tear off the bottom piece of the slip on a paper on the furniture you want and take it to the register to buy. We did that. The lady said we had the wrong slip even though on the paper it says "rip off this piece and take to register to purchase". TLDR: she was wrong and we were almost denied the chair until yet again Brittney saved the day! this sounds crazy but as someone that works in retail, I know it's not easy, but I was extremely nice to the people who only gave me rude and argumentative tones back. read more

Georgetown Goodwill on Williams Drive used to be good. However, I went there recently to donate good quality expensive items. I met Jonathan there in the receiving area. He did not even want to assist with lifting items that I was donating. He was not very friendly. He additionally refused quite a few items being donated. I complained to management with Britney. I came again the second time and was denied donating some good quality items by Jonathan again. We are donating items so that Georgetown Goodwill on Williams Drive can make money and pay employees and the management. If they act so arrogant and condescending and unfriendly, Georgetown Goodwill does not deserve donations. Sometimes being nice and kind goes a long way to customers and human beings. My experience at Georgetown Goodwill on Williams Drive is no different than the other reviewers here on Yelp and other websites. Save yourself the hassle. Donate elsewhere or donate to a different Goodwill. There is a Goodwill Store at UNIVERSITY BLVD in GEORGETOWN. The Goodwill Store at UNIVERSITY BLVD in GEORGETOWN is only 2 miles down the road. This Goodwill was located right down the street from where a friend lives with whom I was visiting this morning. I was impressed with how clean, organized, and spacious this particular location has maintained. Even though I didn't find anything worth buying, I still had a blast shopping the merchandise. Williams Drive store. Waited in line for 15 min (not bad) but when I got to the drop off point, nobody came out to unload my car. I waited a few minutes and finally got the attention of an employee. I asked if he could unload me as I am not very mobile and needed my cane to walk. He said this was his "Busy Day" and he could not come outside to unload. I asked if there was anyone else who could help me unload and he just said "no" and went about his business. I got a bag of clothing out but was struggling with other heavy items and was about to give up when the guy behind me in line got out of his car and helped me unload the rest of my carload of items. Just wanted to let you know that your unloading policy is causing you donation losses. I will never donate to Goodwill again...ever. read more

Terrible experience... I brought beautiful things and toys, and after loading the bucket and taking it in, they informed us that most of it would likely just be thrown away in the dumpsters because they don't want to store things. Why would you tell customers this? read more

I love thrifting, but this Goodwill is one of my least favorites. The staff that work here are really rude, especially one of the managers. He curses openly in front of customers. Item looked as if it was .49. It's a thrift store and my first time there in years . The price was put on where It did look like 49 but you have to turn the tag completely over to see the 10 for a total price of 10.49. I told them I was confused and thought it was .49 when I was still at the register and they would not refund me which I felt was wrong. Also, no bags were offered which again. Seems rude but I'm old fashioned and like the seniors, I use them for trash bags in my home and car so some people do recycle them. Also, there was an extremely long line and I have trouble standing for long periods ( I pushed myself anf had to "slump" over the basket to keep from being in pain or falling) I noticed another lady having trouble and she said she had trouble standing that long too. I had a bad experience. If you don't mind not getting a bag and double check the prices because the tags are tricky and can stand in line for a very long time. It's an ok place. For myself, I won't go back!! Bad experience. There were 2bother people standing up front and only 1 cashier working, long line and not very friendly worjers..they were not understanding at all. read more

No rating. I donate all my stuff to goodwill and don't go anywhere else. After today, I'll give it to other organizations. Workers are rude and they act like we owe them something! And ungrateful people. They talk down to me and called me names. Because I asked another donator if he was willing to let me have something that was on his truck. Not when it was on the doorstep. It was still in his truck and the worker called me a "very kind" name and told me I couldn't do that and abruptly snagged the item from the donator's truck!! I wasn't asking her, I was asking the donator. So no more donating to Goodwill for me. read more

I am only giving 1 star due to process for writing the review. Today I donated a truck load full of very good gently used items at the Highway 29 store in Georgetown. The employee that came out to receive my donations told me to not unload my truckbed until he critiqued all the items. He tested the almo new lawn chairs and desk chair before giving his blessings for donation. I was highly offended and will never donate or shop at Goodwill again. Guessing Goodwill is making such great profits on all their donated items that they can guarantee no future gifts from the public. I'll be taking my gently used items to the Caring Place in the future. They use their profits to feed people. read more

Love the location of this goodwill but never in my 25 years of shopping at goodwill have I seen such ridiculous high unnecessary prices for such used mediocre items. I shop at goodwill religiously amongst other thrift stores and have been doing so weekly for years. I've been into this store 5 times and walked out in disbelief every single time. $15.99 for a pair of dirty used sneakers. 18.99 for some old crusty hard cowboy boots and all the name brand Nike running shorts that were very used are over 8 dollars. I go to goodwill down the road in another city and the same but newer shorts are 3-4 bucks, Levi jeans for 6.99. This location really needs to reevaluate their prices before they have to shut this location down. Most people I know won't go here or donate here because of this . read more

I've been a dozen times or so but I agree with many previous posts. --Over priced --Over powering smell of cheap disinfectant --Very messy and not managed well HOWEVER...I do have to say that the staff has always been nice, friendly and very personable. I have shopped here weekly for 6 years. Now, you have to give a monetary bribe to these people to take things, I kid you not! Additionally, you will pay prices that are equal to going to Ross or other retail discount stores--and their items are NEW; Goodwill's items are VERY used. Every time you buy some overpriced item, you are asked EVERY time if you want to "round it up to the next dollar." So, what exactly are they doing with all the vast amount of money they're already making? The Goodwill is a big "NO" for thrift shoppers; go to the Assistance League of Georgetown or The Caring Place....they're much, much better and don't take bribes, and don't price gouge. read more

Neither Good will or the Caring Place care about the poor. In other cities they leave collection bins available after hours or on weekends. In other cities they will come and pick up furniture and clothing. In this city the citizens have to pay or take their goods in themselves. Screw that. I'm throwing into the trash perfectly usable things so these frauds don't sell it and because there is no place to put anything on the weekend when the public has time to take these items in. I wouldn't be surprised at any chicanery these bums use when pricing their goods. Who cares about charity in a town like this. The municipal trucks could be used to collect things. I am a Senior Move Manager. I downsize seniors and the elderly when moving to assisted or senior living communities. I take donations here weekly. They are always there to unload my donations quickly and thankfully. They work hard in all kinds of weather doing so. I often see how little appreciation they get at the receiving docks. I appreciate what they do for my clients as well as the charity work they do in our community. Good job!! read more

This particular Goodwill store is much better in many regards than most Goodwills (except for their relatively high prices on clothing and the fact that their main charity is their CEO who I believe makes about $1M...a bit high for a Non-profit organization). Anyway, they have great employees...I don't normally get on a first name basis with store personell, but Gail and Alan and Tata (I think that's his name) and Justin (again, I think that's his name) are fabulous and reasonable, as are most of the other employees who've helped me in the past. They have a great selection on good for a smaller store, and don't try to gouge you on prices (they aren't allowed any deviating from HQ mandates on clothing prices). This is one of my favorite Goodwills in the Austin area. read more

The prices are too high for a thrift store. It is never my go-to when I am in the mood to hit the stores. I've always thought Goodwill was overpriced for what they offered, considering there are many other way cheaper thrift stores in the area with pretty good selection. The personnel is friendly. The store is pretty organized. It has that going for it... Just not the bargains I'm looking for when thrift shopping. I usually leave empty-handed because I refuse to pay five dollars for used T-shirt. read more

I've been here 3 times now and just can't get excited about it. The staff is friendly and the store is organized enough, but their prices are bananas! $7.98 for thrift store jeans, unless they're designer or vintage, too high. $4.98 for used tee shirts? Be serious. One can go to Kohl's or Old Navy and get new clothing for those prices. And you know, not take home bed bugs or whatever might be lurking in the used textiles. The housewares section is pretty large but again, I'm not paying $2 for a used, chipped coffee mug. Book section is decent but well picked over by corporate long before anything of value hits the floor. Heaven forbid you actually get a bargain at Goodwill. Overall, a pretty lame Goodwill location. read more

Given my rating, I actually love this store, and shop here at least 2-4 times a month. I just don't want to encourage others, lest my 'finds' decrease! I've come across so many great finds here- Ann Taylor, White House Black Market, Danskos, a Ree Drummond Cookbook, even Cutco! They organize by size, then color. I hate that they mark name brands up. Children's clothing is hard to find- limited selection, not well organized. Dresses for 8.99?? Meh. They get a good amount of Target merchandise, and some decent large items/furniture, but it would be best if everyone shopped the Round Rock store... Leave the treasures for me! read more

I had a high opinion and supported the program as I believe they do provide a much needed service to the community. However, the manager and the assistant manager were verbally and physically abusive to my daughter the night of the 22nd of May. They took her car keys and hid them from her she ultimately had to walk home with my granddaughter. My daughter filed a police report they were so threatening. The next day I called inquiring about the keys and was told that they did not have the keys then proceeded to talk to a customer at check out and hung up on me. The same day that evening a young man approached my daughter who went back to the store to attempt to retrieve her keys and he gave her the keys and stated that they had hid them in a shoe box tucked inside the shoe so my daughter could not find them. My daughter has called corporate to report them. Currently we have not heard from them however this will get resolved at some level. There is no need to target individuals out and treat them with disrespect then put them in jeopardy. read more

Stopped in while visiting family. Noticed bid book and have bid on items in Abilene,Brownwood& others. The normal procedure is high bidders gets item. Was surprised to see live auction after written bids stop. I called(Long distance) to see if I was bidder and was told anyone can bid $1.00 over my bid any get item. This does not seem to be a fair procedure and is open to things could happen that is not in line with Goodwill's purpose. Why have a bid book if the bid could be outbid after bid book closes. read more
