Small plain donut and a 12 ounce warm cider was $3.50 here. Single donut $1. The plain donut is slightly crispy, the dough is also sweet and cakey, the dough is a bit more dense but not bad. The cider is piping hot, that's a first out of 4 places today. Tastes good but doesn't have a lot of spices to it, too sweet even. Not so special. Small spot and cozy. There's a few tables and chairs to the right of the registers. You can watch the staff make the donuts through the screen door beyond the tables. The other cider mill down the street was way more popular... On Sundays, it looks like they bring in a musical act. Small parking area, but there's another lot you can park in that's super close. Small ish line on late weekend afternoon. 1 donut is $1, half a dozen is $6. Can't recall on the cider prices. Pistachio nut bread is $10. I think the apple pie is $14. The plain donut was good. A little more 'fried'. The pistachio nut bread felt a bit expensive, but I really like it. The cinnamon is pretty strong. Maybe a tiny bit sweeter than I'd like, but a good dessert overall. This place has amazing treats, fresh apples, and might I mention the donuts are 90% of the time fresh out of the back so they are crisp hot melt in your mouth goodness. This place is so small you could drive by it for years and never really notice it was there. That, in fact, is what I did until recently when I visited for the first time. It was nicely decorated with a variety of house-made products on display, and there was a rustic charm to the interior. They sold much of what you'd expect at a cider mill: donuts, pies, caramel apples and, of course, cider. We ordered a variety of donuts, a slice of pistachio loaf and two hot mulled ciders. I also bought a half-gallon of cider to take home. The man who was working there was friendly and very knowledgeable of the history of the mill. He informed us that Goodison, unlike the nearby Paint Creek Mill, still makes their own cider. The food and cider was tasty, and there were benches and picnic tables outside where we could sit and enjoy our drinks. It doesn't have the scale or production value of a place like Yates in Rochester, but it has a nice location on Orion road and its product is just as good. I think Goodison is often overshadowed by the larger Paint Creek Cider Mill just up the street, but I would highly recommend dropping in at Goodison to give it a try. read more

This quaint shed may not seem like the place to find exquisite desserts but it it surpasses any cider mill I've ever been to. Hot cider and slushees are delicious treats for warm or cold and their cinnamon sugar doughnuts are to die for. Each one is crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. Yes, it tastes so heavenly, I ordered a large and was not disappointed. I couldn't stop drinking it. So cold and hits the spot with a nice fresh warm doughnut. They also have an assortment of stocking stuffers, like honey, apple butter, jams and apple spices for your winter comforts. The family run business, has been around for about 50 years or more and uses locally grown apples for their hot and cold apple cider. Goodison is my favorite cider mill. Growing up it was them or nothing! Their cider and donuts are wonderful. You also get more of a variety of donuts than the usual plain or cinnamon sugar that Yates offers. The frosted blueberry dounuts are my all time favorite. It is right next door to the Paint Creek Cider Mill so this place can be easy to miss. But it is a worthwhile stop if you know where to look. A lot of people seem upset at the size of the place but it is a known favorite to the locals and the quailty and service always leaves you with a smile. Visited Goodison today, and oh my gosh, cider is so tasty and the doughnuts came right out of the kitchen! They were still warm and simply amazing! The best part... no lines, and no traffic, even on a sunny Saturday afternoon! I cannot stand the traffic, long lines, and bees at the other big house cider mills, this place blows them all away in every way! I received a coupon for Goodison's. I thought it was a medium to large establishment, but it's tiny! Now, that's not their fault, as they never claimed to be large. The 3 stars are for the delicious cider slushies and cinnamon donuts. They were good, but cold...I guess you can warm them. The guy at the counter was friendly enough. The reason I didn't give a higher rating is due to the lack of ambiance. It's really rustic, too rustic, a little rundown for me. Stopped by for first time this weekend. Got some apple cider, cinnamon apple donuts, frosted blueberry donuts, frosted cherry donuts & a jar of FROG (fig, raspberries, oranges, & ginger) Jam. Tried cider & donuts so far. Cider is good, maybe not best but really good. Donuts are way above average; best that I've had in north Oakland/Macomb county area. Tiny little place but charming in its quaint, mom & pop way. Staff was very friendly, food was awesome (Caramel apples, jam, honey, pies, cider) but the best thing is the Pistachio Nut Bread. My boyfriend and I tried to go to Yates yesterday, but the line of cars was way too long. We almost gave up when we decided to ask Siri about other cider mills nearby, and this came up. This is a decent place if you're specifically looking for a cider mill in the area. The quality of the food is especially good, however, they have a very limited and sort of amateur establishment. I was surprised to know they did not serve coffee, and the quantities of cider are also limited compared to some other places. The seating area is a also bit disorganized. I picked up some apple cider in late October from Goodison Cider Mill and the quality/taste was absurdly good! In the past I've always gone to the nearby Paint Creek Cider Mill (which really isn't a mill, they get their cider from Blake's). I decided to finally give this place a try, and it was the best decision of my life! (well, almost) Both are good...but this stuff was amazing. The complex and strong aroma of late season apples made me nostalgic of my childhood (this is where someone is going to jump in and say "it's just apple cider dude"). Paint Creek does have a larger and more diverse establishment which may be important if you are trying to entertain your kids or are more into the other food products than the cider itself, but if you are an apple cider enthusiast, Goodison Cider Mill is definitely the place to be. I live over an hour away and stopped by while I was visiting someone in the area. I'm looking for an excuse to come back before the end of the season! read more
