I love this place- Everything about it. When you walk in, You're literally surrounded and looking at cider being pressed and donuts being made. Pistachio Bread: don't leave with a loaf of this- very hard to explain but you won't find it anywhere else. For Frosted donuts you best go early but anytime you come, there's something wonderful. Kids that work the counter are great too full of knowledge about the process so ask a question!

If you want the best cider donuts in metro Detroit - this is truly your place. My mom and i went on a "cider mill" tour to test this out - and can confirm these beat all the donuts around. They serve them warm and they are so plush and soft, they melt in your mouth! I won't go anywhere else for donuts from now on.

Heaven right here; perfect fall destination.

Close your eyes. Imagine the smell of fresh apples and baked goods wafting through the air, the taste of a warm cinnamon sugar donut on your tongue and the feel of a piping hot cup of cider with all the fall spices in your hand. Yep... about as close to heaven as you can get. Goodison's Cider Mill is quaint, never too busy and full of all the good fall feels. Definitely one of my favorite annual destinations.

Small plain donut and a 12 ounce warm cider was $3.50 here. Single donut $1. The plain donut is slightly crispy, the dough is also sweet and cakey, the dough is a bit more dense but not bad. The cider is piping hot, that's a first out of 4 places today. Tastes good but doesn't have a lot of spices to it, too sweet even. Not so special. Small spot and cozy. There's a few tables and chairs to the right of the registers. You can watch the staff make the donuts through the screen door beyond the tables. Not a busy place to go and can get in and out easily, it's noon on a Saturday.

Super cute and tiny place to stop for cider and donuts. The cinnamon sugar donuts were still hot when they bagged them for me and tasted great, the fresh cider was a perfect thing to wash them down with. I went around noon on a Friday and has no wait time for my treats.

Hands down the best cider and donuts in the area. I don't get caught up in the big hoopla of Blake's and paint creek. This place has amazing treats, fresh apples, and might I mention the donuts are 90% of the time fresh out of the back so they are crisp hot melt in your mouth goodness. I try to take everyone I know that says "well usually we just go to Blake's" to this place to get in on the real local business cider mill.

This small, family owned cider mill has the best donuts and you can watch them fill your gallon of cider - you know both will be fresh!

This is not an orchard - there is no apple picking, hay rides or pumpkin patches. You primarily come to walk or bike the trails along the Clinton River and enjoy their famous cider and donuts. Over the years they've added other offerings like an ice cream stand, fudge kitchen, etc. so there's plenty to choose from. Lots of picnic tables outside but during peak times, it's hard to find a spot. In some of my past visits, there were a lot of bees but this time (Sept 2026), I didn't notice any. This cider mill has gotten so popular over the years that it's way too insane to go on weekends. If you can go earlier on a weekday, it's much more enjoyable. They're the oldest cider mill in Michigan, have a rich 160-year history, and still use the water turbine to generate power! But more than that, their donuts and cider are top notch. The donuts are light, fluffy, and not too sweet - just perfection. Their cider pairs nicely but I will say it's a little expensive (overpriced imho). Parking is free and there's an overflow lot across the street. When I lived in Georgia, they didn't have the same style of cider mills as we do here in Michigan, so we are very lucky! Visiting Yates at least once each fall is a must in my book.

This was a fantastic fun day! My husband has talked about the Cider Mills he loved as he grew up…read more.. family - friendly places. We took a visit to Diehl's Orchard, to find doughnuts and cider- it was great fun and the cider is fantastic. Since we couldn't decide between plain, Cinnamon sugared or powder sugar - 3 of us shared a dozen warm fresh made doughnuts! Fantastic! Best with fresh cider! The outdoor garden area was perfect with places to sit, eat, play. Lots of parking was available, not much of a wait. Some people brought their own chairs and had tailgate parties with cider and doughnuts. A delightful Sunday afternoon!

There was a long line to get donuts and a lot of families outside playing games, eating and drinking goodies, going on the swings, and petting the animals. I liked that they had a fun corn maze. I am really bad at those and at directions, so I am always hesitant to go in, but my youngest child was really good at finding our way out without me panicking too many times. My other child liked the animals, especially Harry Styles the bull/ steer, he was cute. There is a lot of land for people to enjoy and run around. The store was cute with a lot of Fall goodies. We did not buy donuts, they looked very small, but plenty of people seemed to enjoy them. For us, this was probably our only visit since we have a long list of favorites that we go to annually. But we wanted to check this place out since we had never visited before.
