Beautiful fall colors on the property

The best apple cider donuts in the area. The workers are incredibly nice too - I showed up in October and I was there an hour earlier than they actually opened, and they were happy to let me purchase cider & donuts anyways. These donuts and cider were a staple of my childhood and were a must-get on a rare trip back to Michigan during Fall. They had trees on the property that were absolutely beautiful as a bonus

Unorganized chaos. I absolutely dislike writing this review, mostly because all I want is to support small family businesses. My boyfriend and I saw a post on Facebook about how this orchard had a sunflower field, in addition to a cider mill. We love exploring new sunflower fields together and we especially love cider and donuts so we decided to venture the hour north to McCallums. The place itself is rather small. We walked in to the barn, which was a mess. Maybe they weren't staffed properly, but the tables were filled with trash. We read you had to pay for the sunflower maze, which we didn't mind. They use the honor system and a cup filled with water was waiting at the entrance to the maze. Were we supposed to put the money in there? Employees in the barn weren't helpful so we just carried on through the maze. The cider was tart and flavorless and not worth he $6 we paid for a half gallon. The donuts were large and apple cinnamon flavored. Not what we expected but still delicious, especially since they were hot and fresh for us. We each got a weird taste in our mouth when we inquired about cups for the cider and even where we picked up our donuts. For kids they did have a little playground area, which everyone seemed to enjoy. It's a smaller cider mill so don't expect a lot but McCallums is homey and you can tell the owners are trying their best!

Great apple orchard and cider mill in Jeddo, MI! In MI visiting family from Miami, FL and was looking for some u-pick apples and donuts. This place was perfect. Had some hot cider and donuts. Sat by the fire and the kids even feed a baby cow before picking apples and checking out the corn maze. We went on a Friday morning and it was steady but not crowded so a great option if you are looking for a smaller crowd.

We had such a great time. I took two more of my grandchildren the very next day. Go early to avoid the heat. Blueberries and raspberries were delicious. Gift shop had some unique food items. The sunflower field was a nice bonus.

Pack your patience ...stood in line 20 minutes for donuts . Ok it's well worthy the wait for those warm apple battered donuts. The cider was not too sweet or bitter just right. cold and refreshing. Ahh almost fall

One of our favorite orchards in this area to go to, we go every fall it's a tradition. We always fill up a big bag full of apples, tons of apples always tons to choose from. Gala apples are super sweet. I love the experience for my son, that he gets to pick his own apples and see where they grow from. It's also really nice for their sunflower fields, it was so beautiful to walk through there and well worth the $5 entry fee. Pricing is very good at this location. We went to have cider and donuts today at the end of September and the line was so long that we decided to opt out of cider and donuts. They could definitely use more help with the registers and move the lines faster.

Donuts were good. Nice pumpkins. But my 1/2 peck of apples had rotten apples in the bag and the cider tasted like cleaner.

We didn't have the cold or snow this weekend but we did have the need for a tree to go along with family festivities. I've always had an artificial tree as most of my life has been as an apartment dweller where real trees were not permitted. This year however over some early festivities my sister and family were looking to grab a tree from a local farm. We ended up at Leo's Tree Farm near West Lorne where you can either let them cut one for you or do it yourself for $40 a tree. Upon arriving we were given instructions on which trees would hold up best this early in the season and which to avoid until later in the season. The farmers were all decked out in red overalls looking like lumberjack santas making them both festive and easy to find if you need. My sister and fam decided to chop their own and after much debate (too many cooks in the kitchen so to speak) finally picked out the perfect one. Leos provides you with the tools so no need to bring your own. Afterwards we were treated to DIY hot chocolate & candy canes in a small little cozy cabin that seated about 10 in chairs. Outside they were roasting local chestnuts on an open fire really adding to the feel of the holidays. If real trees is your jam for Christmas I'd definitely give Leo's Tree Farm a go! Open Dec 1-24th, annually.

We came here the day after Thanksgiving and arrived at the perfect time! We didn't want to wake up…read moretoo early but we got there around 10am- an hour after they opened. There are parking attendants with huge candy canes to help direct cars and take carts back. Once you park, it's a short walk to a table with greeters that hand out saws to cut your tree down. This is by far the best tree farm we've visited. Last year, we went to about 4 and although it's the farthest, it's honestly the best. Not all trees are tagged so you may have to walk through a few aisles to find one that you like. They have a donut food truck that sells mini donuts, with choice of toppings, powdered/ plain/ cinnamon sugar, hot chocolate, hot cider and even cider slush. Just past the entrance, they have a couple of portable potties if nature calls. When it gets really busy, it can be hard to find a wheel barrel for your tree, so it might be a good idea to bring a tarp so you can drag your tree or you can carry it if it's not too big. Once you get your tree, you get in a line to get the leaves, loose needles shaken out and then wrapped. Pretty an easy process... the only thing is the time it takes to find a tree and waiting for your tree to get processed. The price can be pretty pricey. The cheapest tree we saw was for about $70 and can go up to over $130. I would be happy with a costco tree, but the experience of cutting down a tree is pretty fun (plus the delicious donuts). We've brought our dog once and noticed there were a lot of pups along for the adventure.

They have three types of trees: Fraser fir, Korean fir, Concolor fir, and a great selection! We walked around and scouted out many great trees before sawing our tree down, throwing it into our cart and taking it up front for a good shake (to remove dead, orange needles) and to be wrapped for the car ride home. There were about 10 families ahead of us and I'm sure we didn't wait more than 10-15mins! On our way out we stopped by the donut stand for a bag of fresh mini-donuts and REGRETTED NOTHING!!! I'm pretty sure I ate five by the time I got home, and told my husband I can't wait for next year!! I'm so glad we found a great place to become our new family tree-selecting farm, and that they're family owned and good steward of the land!!

We did the first- so when we were early to check into our Air BnB, we swung back around to check this out. Don't put off by the fact that this place doesn't seem like it has cleaned in years. The actual donut case looked pretty ok. I picture the lil old man waking up everyday and putting on his uniform of a white shirt and tan or black pants and shuffling to work. I'm not sure if the donuts are actually made on site, because it is so small, or if they are brought in and resold ( the donut bag actually was from a place in Royal Oak that I think are now closed). The prices were good though. When i walked in, the man asked if I had cash, so i think its cash only. No problem. Looking around, they do have Beer and Wine as mentioned in the signs outside, but the layer of dust on those Giant Carlo Rossi bottles was an inch thick. The coffee station was (at 2pm) looking like it was the first pot and only pot that will stay there until he closes up tonight. Also, the counter and back counter is where rnadom things go to die. Gloves, tape rolls, odd business cards, and probably anything else you would need in a scavenger hunt can be found. I say all that to say this- the man was still a charming old man who may appear a lil gruff but is most likely a big ol softy and only adds to the charm of this place. He pulled the tray out and says these are the fresh ones, so i picked a half dozen from the ones available, and he threw in a freebie as well- which was sweet of him. The cinnamon rolls were the best for sure- and were indeed very fresh. They were great when we woke up in the Air Bnb the next day with our coffee. I also picked up 2 Meat Pasties- and he gave me cooking directions- which i appreciated.
