To start off customer service was horrible but thats always to be expected. Their food is other good or bad one day no in between. What I mean by that is one day you could have some really great ribs the next day you have really bad ribs that's are undone and very very salty. I went for lunch last Saturday with my son. We split half a chicken and the big pork sandwich with okra, fries, beans, mac and cheese, cornbread. We were well pleased. The food was hot and excellent. Its been a while from the last few times I've gone to Goodies. I've even taken clients there to eat in the past. This past Friday on the way home I stopped by to pickup some pulled pork and brisket for take home. I was thoroughly surprised. The pulled pork had *big* globs of fat in the pound I purchased, at least 1/4 of it was fat. The pound of brisket was the saltiest I've ever had in my life, and that is saying something. I bought two turkey tip, Mac and cheese and candy yams. The sauce was watered down with a hint of flavor. The Mac and cheese tasted like noodles and was watery no cheese. The meat had no flavor and we waited for 30 minutes. And for $37 I expected good food. I use to love Goodies when the owner was living. They have ran his business into the ground. The food is good the service is horrible. Horrible service will kill your business. Who ever the lady is who takes the orders needs to work in a factory! She's really short with people, not helpful, doesn't make suggestions, let's your food sit for 10 mins before you get it, and takes her precious time getting people in and out the door. I tried out the Good Sunday buffet (First Sunday of each month) in January 2016. It was a great meal. I heaped my plate with fried tilapia and rib tips and a bit of chicken, hush puppies and some beef stew, mac and cheese and greens. It was all delicious. My only complaint was that there were no bowls nor ladle providedto get the savory broth that the beef was cooked in, which I was wanting to sop up with the rolls. Hands down Goodies is the best Barbeque place in Cincinnati. I always get the large rib tips. It comes with two sauces. I ordered a hot and mild. The tips are well seasoned and smoked to perfection. The food is fairly consistent each time I come here. I have never been disappointed. Goodies came to my job to sell lunch on our lobby. I was not impressed with food. I mean it smelled ok. The food was very avg at best. Pulled por was ok nothing special. Chicken looked to be ok. I ended up buying the macaroni because i did not want pay for subpar bbq. It was like all the other bbq places in this city, boiled noodles with aome typ of nasty cheese whiz like substance mixed in with some fake cheese. Souped box of kraft cheees & mac. Went in to order our food and was told it would be 30 mins. No problem. However, it ended up being closer to 50-55 mins. At least 3 others came in to place orders after us and they received their order before us ( there were only 2 of us so it wasn't a large order at all). The food finally came out and they gave us greens instead of green beans (luckily we looked before leaving) and they forgot the sweet potato pie. And they hadn't bothered to give us our drinks while we were waiting either. The sides were small, but they were at least good. The corn bread was the driest thing I've ever eaten! The pulled pork sandwich had a HUGE chunk of fat in it and it wasn't even that warm. And the brisket wasn't all that tender or good. The BBQ sauce was supposed to be their mild but it was more of a vinegar based one. Overall, it definitely wasn't worth the wait and I won't be back which is too bad since the people working there were nice. read more

First off I had to wait 45 minutes for my food which I drove 25 minutes for to find out that sides were under sized for the price and not too good. My husband, son and I went to eat here for a Sunday Buffet. I was worried at first b/c they were supposed to open at 11:00 and at 11:20 they still didn't have things ready. Well, LET ME TELL YOU, it was worth the wait. From the crisp, fresh salads all the way to the desserts it was nothing but perfection. It could make ya wanna slap ya mama quite a few times!!! The rib tips were to DIE FOR, the greens were perfectly seasoned, the chicken was crispy, , as was the fish. The Pot Roast actually MELTED in my mouth! The mashed potatoes and green beans were as good as everything else! I almost had to be rolled out off the place b/c I ate so much! The service not only came with a smile, but it came so often that you didn't have a chance to be without a napkin or for your soft drink to get empty. Well here we go went to goodies today after I found them ,, because when they were down further south on hamilton ave when pops ran the show it's a whole different thing then what is happening now I ordered large end ff and collards there was probably 3 teaspoons of greens the ribs were not even warm the corn bread you could tell it was left over from Monday night I asked to get it microwaved also asked do you have butter safe to say very disappointed ribs tasteless no smoke all I can say is I know Q. And to see that the wheels have fallen off at goodies.. is disappointing. Ordered on Uber Eats. So experience may vary at the restaurant itself. The side of collards and mash were great as well as the sweet bread but the main entree of spare ribs were hard beyond belief. Very tough meat to attempt to chew through. We were extremely disappointed and did not eat them and unfortunately had to toss them out. We was there on the 6 of Jan/2016. We had a large rib and two sides Mac and cheese, and salty greens! Its was dark, The ribs had good favor, but needed about ten to 15 mins more.The Mac and cheese was just put togther.No favor ! It cost 20.25. And the sides where 1.60/2.60. read more

The sudden price hikes on the ribs and rib tips are too much. The medium and individual orders are not worth the price either.

I've been a customer of Goodies for a long time. Survived all of the relocations. The business that was once best in the city has taken a different turn. I bought a small end tonight, which is suppose to be the most tender and meatier end of the rib. It was charred until literally crunchy. Nothing that a small end should and it's not the first time I've experienced this disappointment. Needless to say, I'll NEVER order it from them again. Such a great tradition reduced to charred meat. i'm so disappointed in my experience with goodies. after reading all of the reviews and hearing from everyone I was sure it would be good! unfortunately that wasn't the case. we ordered smoked wings and got wings fried so hard there was no meat. we ordered 2 pulled pork sandwiches which were basically all fat. the green beans were extremely salty and the sauce was watery. very disappointed to be writing this review. Our visit was for call-in/pick-up lunch. The meal of Tips, greens, potato salad, and cole slaw, was on-time. It was hot where it needed to be and cold where it was supposed to be; no allowance for the salads absorbing heat from Tips. The Tips themselves were tender and delicious, minus a lot of gristle and fat. We like a thicker base for our sauce but the taste was tangy, sweet, and good. The potato salad ALMOST gave our Mom a run, but who can make it better than Mom? Cole slaw was good, too. The price for our meal was spot on considering the size of the portions. I have been a long time patron of Goodies and followed to the latest location. I have a few things that I have not been really happy about, super long waits, poor customer service, (not everyone, there are enough nice and pleasant people to make up for a couple of grumpy ones). This is only my second review on this site in the years since I signed on. I had my husband pick up two whole chickens for me today. When I opened the first box I noticed that a breast and a thigh were missing. I asked him didn't he check the boxes as they have you do and he said he just wanted to get out of there after waiting. So, we decided to suck it up and I proceeded to fix plates for the kids and take the loss. When I opened the second box, I found the same issue! That is four pieces of the larger size pieces that were missing. I called Goodies and asked if things had changed for orders of whole chickens and was told no, there should be 2 wings, 2 legs, 2 thighs, 2 breasts. When she relayed the info to the manager, his response was bring the food back and they would REMAKE the food. That didn't make sense to me and I told her that. I didn't want 2 new orders I simply wanted the FOUR missing pieces of chicken. I could hear the manager and I told the lady it JUST DOESN'T MAKE SENSE, (I didn't shout or yell, just emphasizing. Nor did I use profanity). I simply was not willing to have another half hour wait after 7P.M. with a hungry family waiting. They were not even willing to put a credit on the books. This was the final straw for me with Goodies after other issues I had not complained about. My husband wants to do the buffet, he can go at it. I'm done! read more

Every time we pass Goodies it smells amazing. We finally had an opportunity to try it today. The food was ok, the okra is probably the only thing I'd definitely come back to get again. The place was struggling. The customer service was awful. The fountain drink station was not put back together from the previous day. We asked a couple workers if they could fix it...fifteen minutes later, it was fixed. While we were waiting for our food, 6-7 people had to go orders. Every.Single.Order. was wrong. We get our food. It's missing two cheeseburgers. They bring them out, only one is a cheeseburger. So I tell the guy who brought them out that both were cheeseburgers. He just stares at me, and goes back into the kitchen. I figured he was getting a slice of cheese. He never came back out. My husband had to take it back up to the front to get it fixed. They put cheese on it, but now it's burnt so my son won't eat it. We watched as we ate as people came in and out to get their to go orders. Not one was correct. The employees need to communicate with each other better, and the kitchen needs to pay attention to the ticket a LOT better! The place was also dirty. read more
