Let's start with the person working the counter was friendly. My complaint here is the food. I ordered the so called "improved meatball sandwich". It looked like the meatballs were heated in the fryer( not the problem), the issue was they were cold in the middle and hot on the outside. The second issue was the roll was dry, it might be fine for dunking when used for a beef sandwich. Glad I ignored the reviews on this one. I thought the garlic cheesy beef was really great. Both regular fries and curly fries were cooked perfectly and tasted good. Fried mushrooms weren't bad and the kids nuggets were exactly as expected. Prices weren't bad compared to every other place and it had a pretty good selection. They were short handed and there was literally only one guy working. So be prepared for that. But with that, tables were all clean and he cleaned ours as soon as we left. And the food didn't really take that long. I would give it a try and if we are in the area I would stop again. read more

I had the Polish maxwell and the mozzarella sticks. Both were excellent. Highly recommend! Especially cause it's hard to find good mozzarella sticks and marinara. The marinara is a easy way to see how good the restaurant is. Goodfella's passed the test. read more

Wow, this place really sucks Ordered a beef juicy, and tater tots. Beef tasted like Arby's beef, juice tasted like water down broth ! Not good at all.... Coming from someone who grew up in Chicago. The food was astounding! Definitely one of the better beef places around without a doubt! Customer service was excellent as well, very welcoming. Ambiance was fitting for a quick lunch, not the best place to bring a large family or have a nice date but would highly recommend treating your brother, sister, mother, father or significant other to a lunch date here! 10/10 read more

We tried Goodfellas Beef and regret eating our food in their "dining room". They had the door to the kitchen open, and our clothes, jackets and hair were covered in grease. Tried the weekly special "Capone's combo" Italian beef and sausage on garlic bread topped with mozzarella, drink and fries (I upgraded to breaded mushrooms). very tasty The place is cozy, and had just one emplyee working to answer phone, take orders, ring people up, and cook. We just moved to the area and wanted to try a local restaurant to grab a bite to eat. We ordered an Italian beef sandwich, gyro, hotdog and curly fries. The food was horrible. My Italian beef sandwich was perfectly described by another reviewer as tasting like peppered lunch meat. The beef was the color of dirty dish water and had a cardboard-y taste and the "crispy" bread was more stale than crisp. My husband's gyro was dry and comparable to leather or fowl tasting beef jerky. Even the fries were terrible. They were so over cooked that there wasn't any potato left inside, just burnt crispy shells. I could see one thing being off but everything was awful. Don't waste your time or money. read more

She turned around not even saying a word like hello, be with you in a minute, or can I help you. She wa les than 8 feet from me. I stood there and waited for five awkward minutes. Still no contact from here. So I left went next door to Rosatis for the Chief sandwich which was awesome. I have read numerous reviews of Goodfellas that were negative and can see why. As a person in the hospitality business for over 40years I can tell you. You need to focus on the customer, fresh food, prepared in a timely manner, and quality of food. Beef tasted like peppered lunch meat. They use Turano bread which isn't one of my favorites, the crust isn't crisp like other Italian breads. The homemade giardenera was good though and so were the french fries. The wise guys who really know their beef sammiches wouldn't go here a second time. Back in Chicago about a year now, stopped in after an 8 hour drive back into town this week. Very pleasantly surprised. Beef sandwiches were very tasty and juicy. Service was fast and friendly. Prices are very reasonable as well. We will definitely be back for more!!! read more

I just went there today and I won't be going back! I ordered lunch for the family: 3 hot dog specials, cheesey beef meal, hot tamale and mozzarella sticks. When the lady gave me the bag I asked if the tamale was in there and it wasn't. I get home and find that they didn't put the sticks in either! I called and the younger woman actually laughed about it and said "They're sitting right here"! Drove 2 miles back and all they gave me was a card for free fries on my next visit. I really wanted to like this restaurant since It's close and family owned I'm assuming. It's extremely expensive for what they serve. They're more expensive than Portillos which is hilarious. Good fast food, hot, fast, and fresh just the way it should be. Not the best beef sandwich in the world, but very good. Staff is friendly and the prices are very fair, especially on their combos. My first time trying this place. Just moved here. Not happy with this place!!!! The service was awful. The first thing that happen was the guy charged me to much. I asked for peppers on the side of a beef sandwich and no peppers on a hot dog. I got peppers on both sandwiches. Ordered fries and onion rings too. This place is filthy. We walked in and waited at the counter while 3 employees were making hot dogs and chatting away. Not one acknowledged us until they were good and ready to deal with a customer. The guy who took our order had dirty, long nails. It looked like nobody ever cleans behind the counter. We have come here twice and the first time we ordered hot peppers and paid extra for them but they were not included. This time we asked for tater tots but got fries. The food was so nasty. The meatball sandwich was dry and clumsily seasoned. The sauce is basically watered down tomato paste. The fries were disgusting (how do you mess up fries????). Due to an onion intolerance, we asked for no onion on the hot dogs but they made sure to include one piece of onion on both dogs. I would recommend nearby Kostas or Dairy Mart. Absolutely horrible and very weird. Walked in and they told us that they had to throw out molded bread after we placed a beef order. Then they said that they had one piece of bread so could make a beef. Then another strange lady came in and asked for beef and they told her same thing. They then offered to go to Walmart to get more bread. The guy comes back 10 min later w bread which he couldn't have gone there that quickly. Food is good... but both times I've gone there the cooks has had their kids there (they are like 2 and 4) and they are jumping all around and being crazy loud, and the one female cook once yelled "be quiet or I'm locking you up"!!
