Let's start with the person working the counter was friendly. My complaint here is the food. I ordered the so called "improved meatball sandwich". It looked like the meatballs were heated in the fryer( not the problem), the issue was they were cold in the middle and hot on the outside. The second issue was the roll was dry, it might be fine for dunking when used for a beef sandwich. From the look of the food being made, it looks like everything is premade and just needs to be reheated. read more

Glad I ignored the reviews on this one. I thought the garlic cheesy beef was really great. Both regular fries and curly fries were cooked perfectly and tasted good. Fried mushrooms weren't bad and the kids nuggets were exactly as expected. Prices weren't bad compared to every other place and it had a pretty good selection. They were short handed and there was literally only one guy working. So be prepared for that. But with that, tables were all clean and he cleaned ours as soon as we left. And the food didn't really take that long. I would give it a try and if we are in the area I would stop again. read more

Wow, this place really sucks Ordered a beef juicy, and tater tots. Beef tasted like Arby's beef, juice tasted like water down broth ! Not good at all.... Tater tots - asked for crispy, majority were still cold in the middle... How do you fuck that up ? A chalkboard menu, no to go menus-???? Last time I will give this place a chance. !!! Save your money, and go elsewhere !!! read more

I had the Polish maxwell and the mozzarella sticks. Both were excellent. Highly recommend! Especially cause it's hard to find good mozzarella sticks and marinara. The marinara is a easy way to see how good the restaurant is. Goodfella's passed the test. read more

Great service offered to go out to my car to tell wife what is on menu Great food. Old time diner atmosphere. read more

if you have patience for the one person working and want real good food stop here I'm not kidding me and my brother stop in and had a great freakin meal at grate prices too Im definitely making this a one to try if it's your first time read more

On numerous occasions that I have been to goodfellas, the lady with the eye brow piercing has always given me an attitude, for NO reason. I make sure I am polite each and every single time I go there. "Yes please. Thank you, etc.." Today, I was fed up with her BS and walked out. I am never stepping foot in that restaurant again. With the intense restaurant competition in Huntley, and the power of social media to convey a persons experiences it would be in Goodfellas best interest to correct this embarrassment of a restaurant quickly.. read more

Quality has gone down. Been going for over 10 years and the last two times are disappointing. Their fries are now different. Taste similar to Burger King. Even their hot dogs don't taste like Vienna beef. Sad. I guess I'll drive to crystal lake and join the masses at portillos. read more

Coming from someone who grew up in Chicago. The food was astounding! Definitely one of the better beef places around without a doubt! Customer service was excellent as well, very welcoming. Ambiance was fitting for a quick lunch, not the best place to bring a large family or have a nice date but would highly recommend treating your brother, sister, mother, father or significant other to a lunch date here! 10/10 read more

1 star is too much for this place. The service and lack of ownership is pathetic. The owner will make every and any excuse to not refund a promised refund because their food was cold. I strongly suggest going elsewhere. I will make sure no one I know go to Goodfella's in Huntley. read more

Just had the Italian Beef and in the past it was just ok. I am from an Italian neighborhood and I give anybody some leeway, I hope none the Boys come back and try this beef, there might be another St Valentines massacre It was so spicy hot, it was more like a Mexican or Indian beef. No Italian cook that, what a shame. Thank You read more

It's a good hotdog joint. Yes, they switched to seasoned/bettered fries - Try to overcome that, if you can. Nice people serve us every time, going back 10 yrs now. Disregard the grumpy 1-star people. read more

This place is phenomenal. They have recently overhauled the ingredients used and the result is the best Italian beef sandwich I have ever had. If you haven't tried them recently, I strongly urge you to do so! Food was quick and outstanding, staff was kind and helpful with recommendations! read more

Easily one of the worst restaurants I've ever eaten at, go across the street to McDonald's you'll be way happier and will save a bunch of money read more

We tried Goodfellas Beef and regret eating our food in their "dining room". They had the door to the kitchen open, and our clothes, jackets and hair were covered in grease. We came home and hung our coats in the garage and sprayed them. It took 3 days before we could wear them. The food was ok, just don't eat it at the restaurant. read more

Tried the weekly special "Capone's combo" Italian beef and sausage on garlic bread topped with mozzarella, drink and fries (I upgraded to breaded mushrooms). very tasty The place is cozy, and had just one emplyee working to answer phone, take orders, ring people up, and cook. He's good at it though as the wait wasn't too long. I just wonder what the wait would be if I came at lunch rush instead of 2 pm. It looks like a nice family owned place. read more

Ordered food and tasted great as always. It seemed as if only one person was working but my order still came out very quickly. I stopped next door after getting my food and went to leave. Dave the worker came out to my car to bring peppers because he forgot them. I was impressed with his fast service and him going beyond to ensure I got everything I ordered! read more

Terrible! Overpriced and the food quality is poor. Look at all the negative reviews

We just moved to the area and wanted to try a local restaurant to grab a bite to eat. We ordered an Italian beef sandwich, gyro, hotdog and curly fries. The food was horrible. My Italian beef sandwich was perfectly described by another reviewer as tasting like peppered lunch meat. The beef was the color of dirty dish water and had a cardboard-y taste and the "crispy" bread was more stale than crisp. My husband's gyro was dry and comparable to leather or fowl tasting beef jerky. Even the fries were terrible. They were so over cooked that there wasn't any potato left inside, just burnt crispy shells. I could see one thing being off but everything was awful. Don't waste your time or money. read more

Used to enjoy this place a lot! Had it for the first time in while and it was literally just salt and no other flavor of the beef. Soup was watered down from a can. And the lady was a bitch to my parents. Only thing enjoyable was the diet soda. I can check that off the list. read more

They no longer offer public restrooms. I wanted to wash my hand before I ate and was told to go use the bathroom at the subway next store. I can't support this. Good luck with your endeavors. read more

If you can't be hospitable don't be in the hospitality business. Went there last night. Walk up to counter to order. The woman who was finishing a party of 2's order. She looked at me I said hello. She turned around not even saying a word like hello, be with you in a minute, or can I help you. She wa les than 8 feet from me. I stood there and waited for five awkward minutes. Still no contact from here. So I left went next door to Rosatis for the Chief sandwich which was awesome. I have read numerous reviews of Goodfellas that were negative and can see why. As a person in the hospitality business for over 40years I can tell you. You need to focus on the customer, fresh food, prepared in a timely manner, and quality of food. If you can't do that, don't be in the business read more

Disgusting! Ordered a combo w/ fries It was the worst beef and sausage I've ever had! I took 3 bites and left. The guy who made my food walked next door to Subway and brought back a sandwich. Enough said read more

Beef tasted like peppered lunch meat. They use Turano bread which isn't one of my favorites, the crust isn't crisp like other Italian breads. The homemade giardenera was good though and so were the french fries. The wise guys who really know their beef sammiches wouldn't go here a second time. There isn't much to choose from in this ex-burb rural area though. read more

My dogs were cold. No napkins in the bag. I don't know want to say other than I'm done. Cold Chi dogs!? I'll go to Tommy's.

Not too bad till I chewed on a hair. EWE don't think I could ever eat there again. Wear hairnets like I did working in food service.

Back in Chicago about a year now, stopped in after an 8 hour drive back into town this week. Very pleasantly surprised. Beef sandwiches were very tasty and juicy. Service was fast and friendly. Prices are very reasonable as well. We will definitely be back for more!!! read more

I just went there today and I won't be going back! I ordered lunch for the family: 3 hot dog specials, cheesey beef meal, hot tamale and mozzarella sticks. When the lady gave me the bag I asked if the tamale was in there and it wasn't. I get home and find that they didn't put the sticks in either! I called and the younger woman actually laughed about it and said "They're sitting right here"! Drove 2 miles back and all they gave me was a card for free fries on my next visit. Won't be using it!!! read more

Good fast food, hot, fast, and fresh just the way it should be. Not the best beef sandwich in the world, but very good. Staff is friendly and the prices are very fair, especially on their combos. If they had fresh cut fries they'd be perfect; but they usually make the fries right when you order them so at least you can count of them being hot and crispy. read more

I really wanted to like this restaurant since It's close and family owned I'm assuming. It's extremely expensive for what they serve. They're more expensive than Portillos which is hilarious. The service and fries were pretty good but everything else was lacking. The beef sandwich tasted and looked like Arby's beef. Hamburger meat was meah and dogs were not very good. Chili dog way below average. read more

My first time trying this place. Just moved here. Not happy with this place!!!! The service was awful. The first thing that happen was the guy charged me to much. I asked for peppers on the side of a beef sandwich and no peppers on a hot dog. I got peppers on both sandwiches. Ordered fries and onion rings too. He forgot to cook the onion rings, they when in the fryer late. After that, I ask him about the fries he forgot to put in the bag. The beef sandwich was ok and my husband said the hot dog was good. The fries and onion rings very good. I think I waited for 15 minutes. It was just me and one other customer (who walk in after me and he got his order before me) in the place. read more

Always good service but they occasionally run out of gyros. They are quick and have nice specials

I was pleasantly surprised with this place. Tiny lil hole in the wall place but the food was pretty darned good. I'd definitely look forward to coming back here. read more

If you want a real chicago dog, or a real Italian Beef, Goodfellas is the place! Best beefs in the area, inarguably the best hot dogs - and great, friendly service! There's pictures on the walls of old gangsters, plus Robert De Niro, Joe Pesci, and Ray Liota - but the real stars here are on the menu! Give it a try, you won't regret it! read more

This place is filthy. We walked in and waited at the counter while 3 employees were making hot dogs and chatting away. Not one acknowledged us until they were good and ready to deal with a customer. The guy who took our order had dirty, long nails. It looked like nobody ever cleans behind the counter. We have come here twice and the first time we ordered hot peppers and paid extra for them but they were not included. This time we asked for tater tots but got fries. The food was so nasty. The meatball sandwich was dry and clumsily seasoned. The sauce is basically watered down tomato paste. The fries were disgusting (how do you mess up fries????). Due to an onion intolerance, we asked for no onion on the hot dogs but they made sure to include one piece of onion on both dogs. I would recommend nearby Kostas or Dairy Mart. I don't know how this place is still in business. It's seriously disgusting. read more

Absolutely horrible and very weird. Walked in and they told us that they had to throw out molded bread after we placed a beef order. Then they said that they had one piece of bread so could make a beef. Then another strange lady came in and asked for beef and they told her same thing. They then offered to go to Walmart to get more bread. The guy comes back 10 min later w bread which he couldn't have gone there that quickly. The cook couldn't remember what we ordered and we were there 30 min. I asked for money back which surprised they gave it to me. One of the strangest situations and I thought we were on a video and even asked him. Don't go!!!! read more

Food is good... but both times I've gone there the cooks has had their kids there (they are like 2 and 4) and they are jumping all around and being crazy loud, and the one female cook once yelled "be quiet or I'm locking you up"!!
