I declined the upsells and had them repair the stuff that clearly needed repairing. Since I had purchased a year of free tune-ups with the last set up repairs, the checkup of my water heater yesterday was free. The unit is less than three years old, so I wasn't expecting much. Yet, the techs suggested more than $1,500 of work on a system that cost $1,600 installed. Worse, they were super pushy about it. I did my own research after they left and discovered that none of the things they suggested were even necessary. Worse, the prices were EGREGIOUS. I get that the economy sucks and times are tough. But if I can't trust you to tell me what's ACTUALLY wrong with my HVAC systems, I can't trust you. Period.
