I made a reservation for 1:45pm but got there earlier than expected. I was dining solo so the bar was an option or the inside with a window. I opted for inside due to how hot it was. There is automatic gratuity of 20% btw. But I ordered a cocktail which was light, a lil spicy and refreshing-not sure if it was worth the price though. Anyways, the main dish of the catfish was YUMMY along with the biscuits. To me, they pair well. Overall? My solo dining was good. She went out of her to welcome our friends from Japan, talked to them about how special Phillips is and recommended just the right dishes to them to maximize their visit to Phillips and Maryland. They enjoyed the Crab soup, appetizers, platters and topped it off with some Smith Island cake which she rightly explained was the national dessert of Maryland. To make sure everyone could have a taste of the soup she brought tiny cups so even the kids could have taste. We started with the cream of crab soup- always a banger- I do wish it had a little more crab meat in it though. We also had some salad. We shared a pound of shrimp, some oysters and some mussels. My main entree I got the rockfish- blackened. It came with a creamy lemon sauce that was really good. Honestly my favorite part of the meal. They have live music outside with the bar and big tvs if you are watching any sports. The wait is usually long on the weekends so plan to wait for atleast an hour. They now do valet parking which is annoying and the parking is not ideal. But overall still one of our top choices for seafood.

The Rockefeller oysters were the best I have had yet... the spinach and cheese stuffing was absolutely delicious. The gorgeous weather played a major role in how electric the atmosphere was, and the outside patio was jubilant and filled with patrons. Now for me the raw oyster tower selection pushed my experience over the top. The oysters were fresh and chilled to perfection. And for the record, the menu is filled with a lot more tasty dishes than just oysters... so I encourage you on the next nice day ( over the spring & summer ) to stop by Mama's on the Half Shell for an experience that won't disappoint.
