Staying at nearby The Tides Inn, Good Luck Cellar's good Yelp rating attracted us to it. They also have a large outdoor pet-friendly patio and grass for kids to play on. The winery itself is small with a tasting room, a small gift shop, and a room for events. We ordered a tasting of five of the wines and enjoyed them on the outdoor patio. We both enjoyed their wines, but my favorite were the more sweet white wines.

I absolutely LOVE this winery and not because of the wine or views but because of James and Chad....but the wine is very good and the views are peaceful. We were the 1st to walk in on a Saturday morning and each got flights. I did all white and my friend had a mixture of white, red and the Rose....called Rip Rap*. :) I really enjoyed my white wines sitting on the porch and listening to the rain. The inside had a fireplace and some seating areas and a private area probably for parties. They have live music on the weekends. A few snacks but I think they have food trucks. Now....James and Chad.....what a hilarious duo!!! They were knowledgeable and friendly but if you want to joke around and have fun these 2 will bring it. They are an asset to this winery.....it definitely wasn't a stuffy vibe. Loved it!!! When you go, I hope you get to meet James and Chad (the twins).....tell them Sally and Leona sent you. I will definitely be back.

Lovely Northern Neck winery with a huge wrap around deck and fireplace inside and out. Spacious indoor tasting room and event room. Delicious selection of red and white wines, all from grapes grown on site. Friendly informative owners. Music and food truck on Fridays.

This was our second time visiting. I must say I didn't remember visiting before until I got on property. It's a beautiful setting. The wines are just ok which is why I probably didn't remember I had been there before.

Friendly service and good wines. Try the Cab Franc, Traminette, and Petit Verdot. They also have rotating food trucks with solid food options and live music on Fridays.

More of a 3.5, but I'm giving them 4 stars to give them the benefit of the doubt. I only tried the reds and 1 white, so my tasting experience was rather abbreviated. Good Luck Cellars is set in a rather residential area; in fact the tasting room looks like it's next door to the owner's home. But the room itself was cozy and well appointed, unlike some mom & pop locations that serve in their garage. At 25 acres of vines and around 4000 cases/year, they are a fairly sizable operation, despite all appearances. Their menu (at least when I visited) was white heavy, and the reds trended towards lighter bodied. It must be the climate; everywhere I went on the northern neck, the reds were at best medium bodied, but I digress. Good prices, though. What I tried: Chardonnay: Made in neutral oak; not bad but I'm someone who likes more oaky Chards. Runaway Red (Merlot and Petit Verdot): Soft red, very drinkable but not overly complex. Inheritage (Half Cab Franc, with Petit Verdot and Cab Sav): Definitely favored the Cab Franc, since I got some green pepper. Sweet Shamrock (Chambourcin and Norton): Semi sweet red; just not my thing.

Love this winery and highly recommend it if you are in the area. My husband and I pack up the dog and head to Good Luck every time we are in town to stay on our boat. They have an expansive wine menu with lots of variety; we're partial to the Inheritage right not but also really enjoy their Traminette in the summer. The owner is frequently on sight and likes to spoil our dog with treats. She has twelve (!!) rescue dogs who live on the grounds and protect the grapes from critters. They are well trained and stay within their area if you are not partial to dogs; no worries there. Beautiful views of the vineyard as you sit on the lawn and enjoy a bottle. They also have fire pits and heaters out for the winter. Great time all around!!

I went here earlier this month with my cousin, I do not drink but she had a tasting and got 2 bottles. This place is beautiful and peaceful. The staff was very knowledgeable and nice. They seemed to have lot of great events too. If you drink wine or like wineries. I would definitely go.

This place is the best all around! Great wines at super affordable prices, a beautiful building, decks and scene. I'd highly recommend going for a tasting or making a night of it during one of their many fun events they host. The Northern Neck is lucky to have such a nice local vineyard. Plus Sherri was super awesome!

Wonderful experience one of the few wineries you can still go sit down at a table and they will bring your tastings to you

Nice people. OK wine. They need to lose the wine dumbwaiter that they run during tastings. It is very noisy and distracting.

There was live music and many people had brought picnic dinners and were seated at tables on the wrap around porch.

My husband took me here to celebrate my birthday. This is one of the fanciest restaurants in the…read morenorthern neck area. We got the reservation at 8:45 pm (slightly late for our liking as we like early dinner), as the restaurant hosted a mahjong dinner event in the evening. The host was very friendly and gave us good recommendations as we waited to be seated. Ambiance is very nice. We had been here before when it was a different restaurant. It's beautiful during the daylight as they have nice water views. Food was great. We ordered crab cakes on coconut sauce for the appetizer. It was once of the best I have had. I am definitely going to try crab cakes with coconut ginger sauce again. For entrees, my husband has the beef tenderloin and I had the beef short rib with risotto. So delicious. Short rib was very tender and the risotto was very creamy and flavorful. For the dessert, we had peach crips with vanilla ice cream. Presentation and the taste was amazing. Overall, a great experience. The only reason I gave them a 4 star is because of the pricing.

We had a great, laid-back experience at Salt & Meadow while visiting the Tides for an anniversary…read moretrip. The staff were friendly and very flexible, the food was tasty, large portions, and reasonably priced (considering it is a resort restaurant). For those concerned about price, I'd say there are more than a few value options and small plates like the cocktail shrimp. We ordered the catch of the day (halibut) and duck which were very high-quality. Buttered rolls were also dank - No notes for the chef! Our favorite things about the restaurant were: 1) The finishes - all the furniture is thoughtfully curated with beautiful wood pieces throughout. The prohibition era lockers when you enter are so cool. 2) The lighting/ambiance was perfect for a date night and the music was chill 3) The wine station in the middle of the dining room was unique and refills were immediate. Staff suggestions were great without pushing us to order more expensive wines Only suggestion is that it was cold AF in there... usually NBD but we were ready to get out of there! Would have probably stayed longer if it wasn't freezing Overall would recommend to stop by especially if you are staying at the resort!

I think she got about 3 Oz of soup, which was flavorless until salt and pepper were added in significant quantity. My wife liked the po-boy. I had a special - the swordfish - for $28 the portion was miniscule and left me quite hungry. I think there was about 8 cubic inches of fish, over a red pepper broth, and served with fried cauliflower. It also required a large dose of salt and pepper to induce some flavor.

Server was very friendly but after bringing water initially, took over 10 minutes to take any orders at all. Also took a while to come to our table each time. Scallops were cooked absolutely perfectly! However, there was soooo much salt on them that it was overpowering and made the dish not good. The corn with it was great though. The red pepper crab soup was the worst on the table, they have a lot of work to do on this soup. Ceviche was flavorless and in whole pieces of shrimp, wish they were chopped up. Can't go wrong with oysters! The lemon coconut custard was not a custard, it was runny coconut yogurt with coconut flakes and fruit on top. If you want a yogurt parfait, order this! Chocolate cake was okay, nothing crazy. Would not come back to eat
