Parking in DC during the week is tragic, so time your reservation accordingly. I don't think you can park on the street until after 6:30p. There are parking garages nearby as well. We indulged on the cocktail shrimp, beef tartare and crab patties. The cocktail shrimp were just that...I'm not really a cocktail shrimp fan. The beef tartare!? I would go back for that alone. It tasted as if they added mayo to it or some type of sauce. Chips also accompanied the beef tartare. The crab patties were great too! Very nice palatable spice. Those two are my recommendations. Came here with my girls during Hoco weekend, and whew, getting inside was annoying. We waited at least 30 minutes in the freezing cold, and as someone who typically doesn't do lines, I was already over it. To make matters worse, I wasn't dressed for standing outside that long, and one of the bouncers was unnecessarily rude, which certainly didn't help. However, once we finally made it inside, I could appreciate the space. The atmosphere was dim, moody, sexy, and intimate, with great vibes all around. Definitely my kind of lounge aesthetic. I wasn't in the mood for a drink that evening, so I can't speak to the cocktails, but my girls seemed to be enjoying themselves, and we had a good time once we settled in. Would I return? Absolutely, because I really liked the atmosphere. But would I stand outside in another 30-minute line, especially in the cold? Absolutely NOT. It's advertised as a lounge/speakeasy, and the space is beautiful. The decor is very picture-esque and feels like a spot you could easily post up for a cute night out. Happy hour is definitely worth mentioning because drinks are half off my basic espresso martini was only $10, which I can absolutely get behind. Now...the food. The menu has very few options, which I'm guessing ties into the whole speakeasy/lounge concept. But if I'm being honest, I was disappointed with the food selection.The oxtail patties (which weren't listed on the menu) were tasty, though! Overall, I'd give Good Love a 3.5/5. Good love is a perfect place for a night out. Repulsive when you're looking for a lively environment without the theatrics of a club. I find both vibe and drinks to be consistently greet. Came here recently after dinner to take advantage of their great HH deal (half off cocktails from 6-8pm) and had a nice time. The crowd is more mature (30s-ish) and the music matches that which isn't a bad thing at all. DJ came in around 9:30 and was doing an amazing job. Server was super nice. Didn't know you could make reservations here, but would recommend doing that if you want to come at 8pm or later and sit at a table instead of bar (limited bar seating also). Good Love is off to a good start!! As far as I know, it's the sister speakeasy lounge to Isla Restaurant, and it is a whole moody, relaxed, upscale vibe. I think it's on trend of restaurants offering a 2nd location dedicated to a more relaxed, after work, lite bites, happy hour atmosphere. And Im here for it. It's nice to have a nearby location to chill immediately before or after dinner and enjoy a comparable experience to the restaurant, without having to worry about being rushed to/from your table. The service was spectacular, and our server M was very knowledgeable of the menu options. The decor is plush, and velvety, with gold and auburn and orange hues. 1 star deduction for not having any mocktail options on the menu. And I overheard a staff member loudly remark, "ordering a mocktail is craazzzyyy", when my server asked for their help ringing up the mocktail in their system. This was just flat out unprofessional and distasteful. Isla offers mocktails, so why wouldn't I inquire if GoodLove has a mocktail selection as well. However, our server offered some off menu mocktail options after I asked. Also, side note-there is one single unisex bathroom, and on the floor, near the toilet, is a drain, so beware because the (high) heel of your shoe can get stuck in the drain grate. Finally, the Drinks are pricey... Overall, I highly recommend! I had a very disappointing experience at Good Love Lounge last night. I genuinely feel that we were racially profiled and unfairly denied entry, and the way the situation was handled made it even worse. When we asked why we weren't being allowed inside, we were given absolutely no explanation beyond being told it was "per management." The staff simply pointed instead of communicating with us or explaining what the issue was. We were also made to feel that our outfits were "too revealing," which was honestly ridiculous considering we were wearing leather coats and dresses. Since when is that considered inappropriate for DC nightlife? If there is a dress code, it should be clearly communicated and consistently enforced for everyone. What made this experience so upsetting was the lack of transparency, respect, and basic professionalism. We were left standing there with no legitimate explanation, wondering why we were being singled out. Everyone deserves to be treated with dignity when going out, regardless of race or appearance. Based on my experience, Good Love Lounge fell short of that standard. I hope management takes a serious look at how its door staff treats people, because no one should have to experience this when simply trying to enjoy a night out. read more
